Hypersonic missiles of India: India recently conducted Operation Sindoor where it attacked multiple terror camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir and Pakistan killing more than hundred terrorists. Various media reports indicated that India used its supersonic cruise missile BrahMos to target nine terror camps of Pakistan, and the precision and speed of the missile has surprised everyone. The successful launch of these supersonic missiles led to huge worries for China and Pakistan, the two possible enemies of India in a war scenario. However, going one step forward, do you know that India also has a hypersonic missile. Speed of Indian Hypersonic missiles
Hypersonic missiles are one of the most powerful weapons that fly at a speed 5 times or more than the speed of sound (Mach 5 or more than 6,174 km/h). With India's Hypersonic missiles missile capabilities, India can hit Pakistan and China in minutes. DRDO successfully tests long-range hypersonic missile
Only a few months back, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted a flight trial of a long-range hypersonic missile off the Odisha coast. As per a report carried by news agency IANS, this hypersonic missile is designed to carry various payloads for ranges greater than 1,500 km for all the Indian Armed Forces wings.
'India has achieved a major milestone by successfully conducting a flight trial of long-range hypersonic missile from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island, off-the-coast of Odisha. This is a historic moment and this significant achievement has put our country in the group of select nations having capabilities of such critical and advanced military technologies. I congratulate Team @DRDO_India, our Armed Forces and the Industry for stupendous achievement,' Rajnath Singh said in his post.
Notably, the missile has been indigenously developed by the laboratories of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex, Hyderabad along with various other DRDO laboratories and Industry Partners. Also, Hypersonic missiles are characterised by their ability to travel at speeds exceeding Mach 5, making them highly challenging for enemies to detect and intercept.

Dog whistling mars PM's I-Day speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his 12th Independence Day address from the Red Fort, dwelt on a wide range of topics relating to national security. He also spoke about the economy, law and justice, and the needs of the youth, explaining his government's policies and actions. .It is the prime minister's prerogative to speak to the nation about his concerns, hopes and expectations on one of the most important days in the national calendar. He looked back with pride and conviction on the achievements of his government and not so convincingly about the failures of others, and cast a long look on the country's bright and viksit future. .He also flagged some imagined concerns, couching them in political and communal terms, and giving them an urgency and importance they did not deserve. Prime ministers sometimes fail to rise above their politics even when they speak from the national rostrum. .Modi rightly lauded the armed forces for Operation Sindoor and their commitment to the defence of the country, and warned its adversaries against hostile and unfriendly actions. He spoke of the need to make the country self-reliant, and underlined the importance of his Make in India, Vocal for Local and 'aatmanirbharta' policies, particularly in the economy and defence sectors. .The idea has a special resonance in the wake of the May hostilities with Pakistan and the tariff war unleashed by US President Donald Trump. Modi announced a plan to develop an indigenous defence system, called Sudarshan Chakra, expected to be deployed by 2035. He also promised a Rs 1 lakh crore Rozgar Yojana for the young, invoked the symbolism of naari shakti, and cited the achievements of the country in various fields. The promises included next generation GST reforms, to be rolled out by Diwali, to reduce the tax burden and make goods and services cheaper. .The prime minister announced the launch of a high-powered Demography Mission to address what he called a deliberate conspiracy to change the demography of the country. No proof of such a conspiracy was given and the announcement is in line with the politics of communal dog whistling that the Hindutva groups have been pursuing. .It is no surprise that Modi also praised the RSS and its activities. The theme of infiltration has been used in the past electorally and politically and his announcement indicates that it will be pushed to the front in the coming days. The move goes beyond justified concerns over illegal immigration and aims to create a polarising narrative against some sections of society.

It is governor RN Ravi, appointed by the Union BJP government. You know what he does from the Raj Bhavan - spread rumours against the DMK government, against DMK. He will insult Dravidam, won't approve legislations, will disrespect Tamil Thaai Vazhthu (Tamil anthem) and maligns TN students," Stalin said in an address at a government event in Dharmapuri."Tamil Nadu is the top Indian state. We are not saying this, the Union BJP government's statistics stand as testament to this. Tamil Nadu is ahead of BJP-ruled states (in social indices).
