Coming out on top for the best pub in Scotland was The Scallion, in Glasgow's West End.
Situated on the city's Great Western Road, the bar boasts great grub - including a Sunday roast and it's famous foot-long hot dog, authentic cocktails, house lager and fine wines.

Awards Director Warren Paul said: 'It is a very tough time for everyone right now but it does seem the hospitality industry are really feeling the heat – people simply don't have the money to go out as often as they did, or they're scared to spend the money they do have.
'We need to socialise, we need that break and to let off steam, escape all the day to day worries – and that's what our friends in hospitality provide.
'With many closures and difficulties, it's important to recognise those who go above and beyond to give the public that chance to zone out, relax and de-stress.
'That's what these awards are for – it's a nod and a thank you from the public to the place and people they appreciate, those who do it better than the rest or just offer something really special.

'So while we have big names performing here tonight, the real stars are the award winners from all over Scotland, venues and businesses who stand out every single day and night.
'Thank you to every winner, every highly recommended and every business who perhaps hasn't won tonight but is out there working hard every day to support us all – sadly there can be only one winner in each category and some are very close.'
Locals Heartbroken as Auchenmalg's Only Pub, The Cock Inn, Closes Down

Other bars were also honoured at the event with cGoldricks Pool & Sports Bar in Rutherglen winning Best Sports Bar while Cheers Bar, in Coatbridge, scooped Best Music Venue.

Simon Cowell leaves fans truly baffled after major transformation

Simon Cowell has long been open about his use of cosmetic procedures, but the 65-year-old's latest appearance has left Britain's Got Talent viewers stunned Simon Cowell found himself in the spotlight after his new look in a Britain's Got Talent teaser triggered quite the stir. The 65 year old music mogul flashed a smile in a pre-recorded snippet for Saturday night's live final, which aired on May 31, declaring: "We're live from Hammersmith, it's minutes before the final, I am really excited. "I haven't got a clue who is going to win, but that's a good thing. Thanks for watching, everyone." Yet, it wasn't the anticipated finale causing a buzz amongst viewers, it was Cowell's vastly transformed visage. Social media erupted with fans suggesting he resembled "an AI version of Simon Cowell," while others confessed to struggling to recognise him. ‌ Before opinions could skyrocket, ITV took decisive action by disabling comments on the video, halting any further public discourse. Cowell, once an X Factor panellist and among the first male celebs to openly discuss using cosmetic injectables, has consistently refuted claims of surgical enhancement. ‌ Addressing last year's flurry of plastic surgery gossip with a chuckle, he retorted: "I think it's hysterical. I mean it just makes me laugh - I haven't had a facelift or anything. I have had a bit of Botox but kind of nothing drastic. So when I hear about this stuff honestly it does make me laugh", reports the Express. Back in 2018, music mogul Simon Cowell splashed out a cool £2,000 on a flashy cosmetic procedure known as the "21st-century facelift"—a Silhouette Soft Lift that works by threading bioplastic-infused fibres beneath the skin to perk up and firm saggy bits. At that time, Cowell dished to the Daily Mail: "For me now, it's all about having clean skin. If you have clean skin, you look better. But you have to be very careful with some of this stuff." Admitting he may have previously taken it too far with the nips and tucks, Cowell reflected: "There was a stage where I might have gone a bit too far. I saw a picture of me from 'before' the other day and didn't recognise it as me." ‌ Nowadays, the telly stalwart credits his fresh facade to a more wholesome lifestyle. Simon credited his rejuvenated looks to hydration and clean living. Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: "There was a phase where everyone was having their faces pumped full of this and the other. But actually, for me now, a lot of it comes down to healthy eating and drinking tons of water." Over the years, Cowell's visage has definitely taken on new shapes. Back in the '80s, well before he became synonymous with TV talent shows, Cowell was a behind-the-scenes music bod sporting a fuller face, untouched barnet, and au naturel gnashers. As the noughties dawned with Cowell rising to fame through the likes of Pop Idol and American Idol, he maintained his signature black tee and denim combo, though the tell-tale signs of advancing years were undeniably etched on his visage. It wasn't until the 2010s that his transformation started to attract attention. His cheeks appeared plumper, jawline more defined, and forehead smoother, sparking years of speculation about precisely what procedures he had undergone.

BGT hit with Ofcom complaints due to Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon's final outfits

Amanda and Alesha wore stunning outfits during the BGT final but not everyone was happy about it. The Britain's Got Talent final took place on Saturday but it wasn't the winning act that got everyone talking. It was judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon's 'revealing outfits' that got tongues wagging and 72 complaints to Ofcom. When contacted by our sister paper, the Mirror, Ofcom said they had received the complaints from viewers watching at home, who said that they felt that the pair's outfits were "too revealing for a family show". ‌ Show judge, Amanda, 54, stunned in a low cut white dress with silver detailing for the final show after vowing to never tone down her fashion choices despite often gaining complaints about her choice of fashion. ‌ At the finale, Amanda went braless in a plunging custom-made white silk gown from Saint Hendrix, with her hair slicked back into a bun with matching glitzy hair-piece. Alesha meanwhile, also made sure her outfit was going hit all the headlines, as she stepped out onto the stage in a sequin-strewn see-through jump suit, which revealed her underwear. Alesha and Amanda are often criticised for their risque looks on the show, but Amanda has ruffled the most feathers over the years as she remains defiant in her outfit choice. In July 2017, she donned a plunging see-through Julien Macdonald dress that became the most complained about TV moment of the year. Amanda went on to joke that the complaints about her outfits were a 'national crisis', teasing in Closer magazine: "I'm always asked about the Ofcom complaints, but every outfit on the show is checked before I leave my dressing room, so I'm never worried. ‌ "I think people should have fun with fashion! "I had bits of fish wire underneath my breasts trying to hold that together... It's all quite laughable, but all everyone seems to talk about. It's been called another national crisis – but, oh no, I will not be covered up." Her risqué frocks have become so talked about that she even has a team to check her chest before the live shows. ‌ "There's a whole body of people that knock on my door and come and stare at my chest before we go on air," she previously explained. "There's a t*t committee. There are so many brilliant people, they come down, knock on the door and there's the lady who's the producer who said, 'Mandy, it looks great'." ‌ Despite the backlash about their outfits, Amanda and Alesha looked like they truly had a great time during the finale and magician Harry Moulding was declared the winner. The stunning duo posted with the winner alongside fellow judges Simon Cowell and Bruno Tonioli, toasted another successful year of the ITV talent show - even if their dresses were deemed too revealing.
