The reality TV stars' doting daughter, Savannah Chrisley, has now revealed what the president said in a private phone call ahead of their release.

Trump has today pardoned Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion in 2022 and have spent the past two years in prison.
The couple are famous for Chrisley Knows Best, a reality show that followed their tight-knit family and extravagant lifestyle.

She met Trump after speaking at last July's Republican National Convention, where she was pictured alongside him in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The network asked her to confirm whether the president had called her while she was walking into a Sam's Club, to reveal he was to set them free.
She laughed and replied, 'Yes, the president called me as I was walking and so… I didn't know what to do; I just ran back to my car at that point.'
The presenter then asked for details of her "pitch to President Trump about why your parents deserved a pardon and what you think finally got through to him?"

Savannah explained, "I have fought for the past two-and-a-half years, for my parents to come home and I've been fighting for their freedom."
The Chrisleys were convicted in 2022 of conspiring to defraud banks in the Atlanta area out of more than $30 million in loans by submitting false documents.

They were also found guilty of tax evasion, obscuring their earnings while showcasing a luxurious way of living that authorities said included high-priced cars, designer clothes, real estate and travel.
Julie Chrisley, 52, was sentenced to seven years in federal prison, and Todd Chrisley, 56, got 12 years behind bars. The couple was also ordered to pay $17.8 million in restitution.
TRUMPS OF THE SOUTH
But, Savannah maintained, "I have said from the beginning I believe in law and order, and if I believed my parents were guilty of what they did, then yes, they should have gone to prison.
"Even if they were guilty, the time they got was absolutely insane.
"But I brought up in our case the huge Fourth Amendment violations, the illegal seizures, the fact that they had my father's face on a dartboard, the IRS agent lying on the stand and referring to us as the 'Trumps of the south'.
"And also accusing my family of terrorism just so they could run a financial report.'
NOT TERRORISTS
When pressed on what in particular had resonated with Trump, she added, "He did say, he was like, 'you know, you guys don't look like terrorists to me'. Those were his exact words - which was pretty funny.
"But he just said that their sentences were 'outrageous' and they were 'treated unfairly' from everyone he has spoken to.
"And that he 'wanted to bring my parents home' and not just grant them a commutation but he wanted to give them a 'full pardon.''

Savannah became the legal guardian of her younger siblings Chloe, 12, and Grayson, 19, following their parents' imprisonment.

She explained that Grayson was with her at the time Trump called out of the blue.
Savannah said, "He was in the car when [Trump] called, and actually spoke to the president himself."
Grayson studies at the University of Alabama, so they spoke about the president previously speaking at the institution, and her brother thanked the president for bringing his parents home.
IN SHOCK
"Chloe is still in shock and she doesn't want to get her hopes up because she feels like something bad is gonna happen.
"But I'm excited about going to get my dad and bringing him home to her," said Savannah.
She also said she expected her father to be a free man by tomorrow at the latest.
'If they don't release him tonight then it'll be tomorrow, so… we will get them acclimated back to normal life," Savannah added.
"It's going to be hard... I don't think I'm mentally or emotionally prepared to see my parents see each other for the first time, or hear each other's voice for the first time.
"Their 29th wedding anniversary was on May 25th, so they'll have a late wedding anniversary."
LARA TRUMP'S HELP
She also thanked Trump and his team profusely for their intervention, along with Fox News host Lara Trump, who is married to Eric Trump.
Savannah said her family was "eternally grateful to President Trump and the administration.
"I went on the Lara Trump show, and I believe that helped to put things over because he watches every episode of her show.
"She is doing a great job on Fox and I think that episode of the show reminded the president of my family's story.'
But, Trump's pardon of her mom and dad has proved contentious.
NO REMORSE
U.S. District Judge Eleanor Ross had criticized their lack of remorse, saying during their sentencing, 'I cannot ignore the greed and flamboyance in this case.'
Such pardons "aren't the only evidence of a Justice Department de-emphasizing public corruption cases," wrote
'It's clear that this administration doesn't believe that tamping down on public corruption is a priority,' warned Stacey Young, a former Justice Department official who founded Justice Connection, a network of Justice Department alumni.
It follows the pardoning of the three co-founders of cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX; the pardoning of about 1,500 of his supporters who attacked the U.S. Capitol four years ago; and a pardon for a former Virginia sheriff who was convicted last year of federal bribery charges.
KIDNAP PLOT
Trump revealed today that he is also considering pardons for the people involved in a plot to kidnap Michigan Gov.
Deputy White House press secretary, Harrison Fields, said in a statement on Tuesday that the Chrisleys' sentences 'were far too harsh.'
'The President is always pleased to give well-deserving Americans a second chance, especially those who have been unfairly targeted and overly prosecuted by an unjust justice system,' he added.

Tyler Hadley was just 17 when he locked his family dog in a cupboard and bludgeoned his parents to death with a hammer before his father, Blake uttered his final devastating question to his son: 'Why?' Tyler's father was a nuclear power plant operator, and Mary Jo, his mother taught at the local school. Tyler also had a brother - Ryan. His aunts recalled that Tyler was "cute" calling him an "adorable little boy," according to Crime and Investigation. They added that "he was constantly hugging his mom." At High School Tyler stopped playing sport and started experimenting with drugs before his behavior became erratic and concerning. His alcohol and drug use escalated and he was knownto police before he was involved in a $15,000 civil suit after injuring a child while driving his father's car in June 2010, reports Mirror US. In a final attempt to save their son before he turned 18, his parents sent Tyler to rehab but the teen was not happy. His uncle said: "That kid wanted his freedom, and he wanted to party... his parents were in the way, and he felt there was no way out." Then the sinister jokes began. Tyler told a close friend exactly what he was planning to do. The idea was horrific, he wanted to throw a party after murdering both of his parents. On the day of the murders, he posted an ominous message on Facebook: "Party at my crib tonight... maybe." Tyler hid his parents' phones and locked the family dog in the cupboard, then took three ecstasy pills and picked up a claw hammer. He killed his mother first, attacking her from behind while she was on her computer. Hearing her screams, his father asked his son "Why?" in shock. Tyler replied: "'Why the f*** not?" before attacking him. Tyler then moved their bodies to the master bedroom and cleaned up the blood, which was splattered all over the house and his body. He then invited around 60 people over to party - after placing an assortment of objects over the dead body. Tyler told several people at the party he had killed his parents and even showed his best friend, Michael Mandell, their bodies. But others there that night reported odd smells and sightings of spatters of blood around the house. Michael would eventually alert the police but not until the party had finished. Tyler was also caught on CCTV using his parents' stolen credit cards to buy alcohol and other supplies. Tyler was arrested early the next morning. His lack of remorse led prosecutors to argue his desire to throw a house party meant more than his parents' lives. Tyler pleaded no contest to two counts of first-degree murder. He was initially sentenced to two consecutive terms of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. In 2018, he was resentenced as an adult to life in prison. Tyler continues to brag about his horrific crimes in prison, regularly signing autographs for fellow inmates with his self-proclaimed nickname, Hammer Boy. A prison guard also reported finding a hammer the 'Hammer Boy' had fashioned himself behind bars. Prison guard D. Johnson wrote in his report of the April 6 incident: "I discovered a homemade weapon fashioned from a piece of metal approximately 6 inches in length, sharpened to a point with a piece of cloth wrapped around one end to be used as a handle." Tyler was ordered to spend 60 days in disciplinary confinement, living in a solitary cell with limited privileges. State prison records show Tyler was also given an additional 30 days of confinement after a disciplinary hearing found that he had 20 unauthorized absences from a teaching assistant job. His giant artistic strides began. It's also worth noting that this was the era of psychedelic drugs, notably So came a huge change of tack in his career, leading to his rare mastery of instrumentation, harmony and recording technology. In his later years, Wilson was a man of few words who let his music do the talking. 'A SPIRITUAL RECORD' He struggled with mental illness and found interviews uncomfortable. But, during the times I met him, I found him polite and gracious and steadfastly sincere. In 2016, during a promotional visit to London, I asked Wilson to describe his happiest memory of making Pet Sounds — to some, the greatest album of all time. 'Well, I loved making God Only Knows with my brother Carl. He had a good voice,' he replied, fifty years after its release. It was his understated but heartfelt way of paying tribute to his youngest sibling, blessed with an angelic voice, who had died from cancer in 1998. He told me he had been striving to 'make a choir, a nice choir' with Pet Sounds. Through Carl and the rest of the group's glorious lead and harmony singing, he succeeded. Brian was responsible for the sweeping symphonic arrangements and wall-of-sound production that doffed a hat to Phil Spector's girl group work — but he took it to whole new places. He gave the album weird and wonderful sound effects — bicycle bells, trains, Hawaiian strings, Coke cans and barking dogs among them. 'And we had little toy instruments,' recalled Brian. 'We just thought we'd put them in there for the kids. When I was making it, I looked around at the musicians and the singers and I could see their halos.' He also talked about the impact of The Beatles: 'I met Paul McCartney later in the Sixties, in a studio. I was almost always in a studio back then. 'We had a little chat about music. "Everyone knows now that God Only Knows was Paul's favourite song — not only his favourite Beach Boys song, but one of his favourite songs, period. "It's the kind of thing people write in liner notes and say on talk shows. "When people read it, they kind of look at that sentence and keep going. "But think about how much it mattered to me when I first heard it. 'I was the person who wrote God Only Knows and here was another person — the person who wrote Yesterday and And I Love Her and so many other songs — saying it was his favourite. 'It really blew my mind. He wasn't the only Beatle who felt that way. 'John Lennon called me after Pet Sounds — phoned me up, I think the British say — to tell me how much he loved the record.' I'm in a better frame of mind these days. It feels great . . . it's like I see some light. Things make sense to me again Brian Wilson It's sad to think that Wilson, this architect of the band's unique sunlit sound, went on to suffer years in the darkness in the Seventies and Eighties. Mental illness allied to drug abuse left Brian lost in a world of his own from which few believed he would return. But his rehabilitation began in 1988 with his self-titled first solo album. It continued with I Just Wasn't Made For These Times (1995), Orange Crate Art (1995 with long-time collaborator Van Dyke Parks), Imagination (1998) and Gettin' In Over My Head (2004). That same year, he finally realised his lost masterpiece SMiLE. 'That was amazing,' Brian told me. "I never ever imagined it coming out until my manager and (second) wife (Melinda) said: 'You ought to try to finish it.'' He also released a Pet Sounds Live album, but I asked whether he would consider playing the album again in its entirety in concert. 'I don't think we'll be doing that again,' he said with quite alarming frankness. 'We just thought we drove it into the ground.' Last year, it was revealed Brian was suffering from dementia.
