Football club investor Eagle files for US IPO, Bloomberg News reports
Eagle Football Holdings, one of the most active investors in global football clubs, has confidentially filed for a U.S. initial public offering, Bloomberg News reported on Friday.
Reuters could not immediately confirm the report.
The France-based company submitted a draft registration statement to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the report added, citing a company statement.
The firm has been working with UBS Group AG on the potential IPO, the report said.
Eagle Football, run by U.S. businessman John Textor, holds stakes in multiple football clubs including Olympique Lyonnais, Crystal Palace and Brazil's Botafogo.
The SEC and Eagle Football did not immediately respond to request for comment outside regular business hours. REUTERS

"The airport will remain open unless something emerges beyond our control," Lebanese Minister of Public Works and Transport Fayez Rasamny said while touring in Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport. The Middle East Airlines (MEA), Lebanese national carrier, will increase its flights to compensate the delayed flights, Rasamny said. Earlier, state news agency NNA cited the Lebanese Civil Aviation Authority as saying the country would temporarily reopen its airspace on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. (0700 GMT), and it would be shut down again from 10:30 p.m. till 6:00 a.m. on Sunday. Lionel Messi magic needed for Inter Miami as injuries pile up
– Inter Miami will have to rely heavily on Lionel Messi's firepower as they prepare for their Club World Cup opener against Al Ahly on June 14 (June 15, Singapore time), with coach Javier Mascherano forced to reshuffle his backline owing to a string of injuries. Fullback Jordi Alba, fellow defender Gonzalo Lujan and defensive midfielder Yannick Bright have all been ruled out of the Group A clash at the Hard Rock Stadium. 'They are not available for this game, hopefully they will be for the second game,' Mascherano told a press conference on June 13. Alba, one of Messi's former Barcelona teammates, is sidelined with a hamstring issue. There were also concerns regarding the fitness of centre back David Martinez. 'David had some kind of pain yesterday and we did not want to take any risks,' added Mascherano. 'Obviously we would have loved to have everyone fit for this game and have our full roster, that would allow us to be stronger... The reality is that throughout the season, the team have dealt with injuries, but the players who stepped in rose to the challenge. That gives us peace of mind.' Miami have conceded 16 goals in their last six competitive games and much of their chances rest on Messi's shoulders. 'He's in good shape this season.
