Grand Tour shake-up as original trio 'replaced by younger and cooler new hosts'
The Grand Tour was hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond for Prime Video but there's now speculation over their potential replacements on the show
There's speculation over the line-up for the Grand Tour, with news hosts said to have signed up. It's been teased that Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond 's apparent replacements are "younger" and "cooler".
Jeremy, 65, James, 62, and Richard, 55, hosted the Prime Video show together from 2016 until it ended last year. They are looking back over it in four special episodes though. One has aired so far and it was previously announced that the others will be released "later this year and into 2026". It has now been reported that their replacements for the Grand Tour have been decided. It's claimed that Thomas Holland and James Engelsman - who run the Throttle House channel on YouTube - will front the motoring TV show with viral trainspotter Francis Bourgeois, 24, moving forward.
A source has told the Sun: "Thomas and James are as knowledgeable about motors as Jeremy, Richard and James - the only difference is they're younger, cooler and a lot more social media savvy. Francis became famous for his love of trainspotting and will be bringing his humour to the show."
Thomas and James are behind the brand Throttle House, which has more than 3 million subscribers on YouTube. Through the channel, the pals post "everything from car reviews to track tests, to epic adventures". Launched by Thomas, the channel dates back to 2013 and James later joined as a presenter in 2018.
Francis - whose real name is Luke Nicolson - instead rose to fame through TikTok in 2021. He's known for posting content about trains, including footage of himself trainspotting, and has more than 3 million followers on the platform.
It was reported earlier this year that he was being considered for the Grand Tour. A source previously told the Sun: "Francis is a big noise online and Amazon producers are hoping to bring him into the mainstream. [...] Francis is not just a social media sensation but trained as a mechanical engineer so knows his stuff."
The latest speculation about the line-up comes after former host James May suggested that a younger generation should take the helm of motoring shows like the Grand Tour. He spoke about stepping back on Australia 's ABC News in March.
After suggesting that he wouldn't reunite with Jeremy and Richard in such a role, he said: "It was probably time for us to stop because we always said we would land it ... we would land it with dignity not fly it into the cliffs. That's the way we used to talk about it. We have come close to flying it into the cliffs a few times so it was probably the right time to stop."
Discussing the future, he suggested that the former Top Gear presenters are "getting on a bit". He then proposed that a "younger generation" should find a "new way" of discussing motoring, as opposed to their potentially "dated" view.
He said at the time: "We're getting on a bit. Our view of the subject is probably becoming a bit dated. It's time for a younger generation to reevaluate it and think of a new way of talking about things like cars and transport generally."
James expressed hope that "somebody out there" will be able to, though said he wasn't sure "exactly" how. He said in the interview: "I don't know how they're going to do it exactly but I feel sure there must be somebody out there."

BGT star KSI branded a 'terrible person' over awkward date admission
Britain's Got Talent is coming to an end tonight with the final of the 2025 series airing on ITV where a new winner will be crowned, after KSI stood in for Bruno Tonioli at auditions Britain's Got Talent's KSI has been called a "terrible person" after his date confession. The YouTube star filled in a guest judge on the show during this year's series. However, he has now been slammed for admitting that he maybe didn't deal with a dating situation in the best way. The star opened up about a time he went for dinner with a girl but he accidentally forgot his wallet which didn't go down too well. Speaking on Hits Radio, KSI explained the situation to hosts Will Best and Fleur East. He started out by saying he didn't realise until half way through the date that he has gone without his wallet. He said: "So it's when I was single, I went on a date but I accidentally forgot my wallet. So I didn't realise until midway through the date so we were having this date, I didn't really get along with her, we weren't vibing it was kind of awkward. "Obviously, I'd pay. Checked my wallet, there's nothing there, so I was like 'okay how am I going to do this?' So, eventually I told her 'I don't have my wallet'. Now, she's probably thinking 'oh this guy is trying to scam me,' so I promised her I was going to see her again." Fleur replied by saying: "You knew you weren't going to see her again," as KSI confirmed: "I never did." The trio then agreed that what KSI did was "terrible". KSI will be appearing on Britain's Got Talent once again during the final show this weekend. He will be taking to the stage to perform himself. Announcing the news on X the official Britain's Got Talent account tweeted: HE'S BACK!!! Catch @KSI while you can performing at the #BGT Final, coming at you this Saturday 31st May at 7pm on @ITV1,@ITVX and @WeAreSTV." The YouTube star first began his music career back in 2015 with the release of his debut single, Lamborghini, featuring P Money. However, it wasn't his first experience in the industry, having previously written and produced comedy rap songs for his YouTube channel. The boxer joined the Britain's Got Talent panel as a guest judge in February this year as he stepped in for fellow judge Bruno Tonioli who had to miss a few auditions due to schedule conflicts. KSI returned again last week where he was given the honour of Golden Buzzer duties. He chose to use his power to send one act through to the live finals. He was particularly impressed by magician Harry Moulding as he left the judges in utter shock as he performed an incredible magic trick which ended in a romantic proposal in front of the live audience.

James Martin opens up about what he really cooks at home in rare insight
James Martin was joined by singer Louise Redknapp on his ITV show this morning, with the star asking the chef if he really cooks a feast every night Celebrity chef James Martin has given fans a glimpse into his personal culinary habits, revealing that even when he's off the telly, he still enjoys whipping up a meal for himself. While chatting with guest Louise Redknapp on James Martin's Saturday Morning, the conversation turned to what the famous chef cooks when he's not dazzling viewers with his skills on ITV. In today's episode, James was seen preparing an exquisite blackened cod, which had been marinated in miso, sake, and mirin for three days. The dish, featuring the fish roasted over coals accompanied by barbecue leeks and grilled broccolini, certainly tantalised taste buds. Louise, who appeared on the show to promote her new solo album Confessions, was curious about James's dining habits, asking him: "Do you cook dinner for yourself every night? Like, if you're just home alone do you still cook something..." "Absolutely!" James chimed in, confirming his passion for cooking doesn't wane even when the cameras are off. The conversation took a light-hearted turn as Louise confessed to having cereal for dinner the previous night, prompting James to offer: "So hopefully I'm going to cook for you some nice food." Acknowledging the complexity of the day's recipe, James conceded: "I don't cook like this every night. But if you can just cook a nice bit of fish, just pan fry it..." He then drew a parallel between their professions, jokingly asking Louise: "But yeah it's my job! You must sing in the kitchen don't you as you go along?" "I do, actually!" she admitted, which resulted in laughter and James concluding: "There you go! Similar sort of thing." James has previously shared insights into the more 'normal' meals he enjoys preparing on his weekend show, reports the Express. During his show last year, TV chef James Martin revealed some of the dishes he cooks on a typical day at home, starting with: "What do I cook on a regular day at home? Roast chicken. Easy." He elaborated on his culinary routine, saying: "An hour and a quarter in the oven with some nice veg - green beans from the garden, tomatoes from the greenhouse." Expanding on his approach to everyday cooking versus entertaining, James said: "As a chef, it's a funny one; if you're cooking for people at home, yes, you go and do your thing and get into the 'process'." For fuss-free daily meals, James prefers uncomplicated yet tasty options, stating: "But if it's just for everyday meals, most of us go for things like that - something simple but delicious; steak frites, or steak and a jacket potato, or a simple pasta, are my favourites." Regarding pasta, James shared his affection for simplicity, adding: "Just a couple of tins of tomatoes, with garlic and basil, and cook for 30 minutes with some good olive oil. Cooking it for a good time makes the difference." Today, James welcomed guests including singer Louise, chefs Francesco Mazzei and Tom Shepherd, and forager Alysia Vasey to his popular morning programme. The episode also treated viewers to sumptuous meals such as flatbread topped with blue cheese and nettle pesto, and an appetising asparagus tart featuring shallots, cheddar, and a golden shortcrust pastry. Completing the lineup of delectable dishes was James' own creation of lamb chops served with purple sprouting broccoli and a flavoursome harissa dressing. James Martin's Saturday Morning airs from 9.30am on ITV1 and ITVX.
