Kimera Evo38 revealed! Rally tribute goes bonkers with 592bhp and 4WD

The striking Kimera Evo38 has been revealed in finished production form ahead of its debut at Monterey Car Week, bringing almost 600bhp, mild hybridisation and four-wheel drive.
A vision of 'what would have been' if the legendary WRC-winning Lancia 037 had continued being developed beyond 1992, it is an evolution of the Italian firm's debut model, the Evo37.
The most notable development is a move from the rear-wheel-drive set-up that defined the 037 – it having been the last such car to win a constructor's title in the World Rally Championship – to four-wheel drive.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a Torsen limited-slip differential and the split of torque between each axle can be varied using a controller in the cockpit.
This notionally allows for greater traction on slippery surfaces or under high loads, although the driver can choose for all the power to be sent through the rear wheels if they so desire.
The driveshaft that links the front axle to the mid-mounted, turbocharged and supercharged 2.2-litre four-cylinder engine runs through the spine of the car's cockpit and is encased in glass.
Power is up from 500bhp to 592bhp, thanks in part to the addition of a 48V mild-hybrid system and a trick exhaust, which is valved to allow drivers to swap between a road-friendly muffled set-up and a rortier straight-through one.
With the valve opened, the turbocharger can also be seen glowing through the car's rear end, Kimera said.
That power is delivered through a six-speed manual gearbox with an exposed billet-aluminum linkage.
The car's chassis has also been overhauled, gaining push-rod suspension and a strut-tower brace into which the turbocharger's cooler is integrated.
Despite the move to four-wheel drive, the Evo38 is lighter than the Evo37, at around 1100kg.
Prices have yet to be confirmed but are expected to push toward the £500,000 mark. 'Nearly all' 38 examples set to be produced are already accounted for, according to Kimera.

It's Scheduled To Open In 2027 Luxury brands are emphasizing personalization in order to keep customers coming back—and spending more money when they do. Case in point is BMW, which recently announced an investment of over 30 million euros ($34.9 million at current exchange rates) to expand the paint shop at its assembly plant in Dingolfing, Germany. 0:04 / 0:09 Walmart is selling an 'amazing' $47 tire inflator for $25, and shoppers say it's 'portable and efficient' Walmart is selling an 'amazing' $47 tire inflator for $25, and shoppers say it's 'portable and efficient' Watch More The investment will fund a new Centre for Special and Individual Paintwork so cater to personalization requests. While the main goal is to improve efficiency, a human touch will still be part of the process at this new facility, BMW said in a press release. A groundbreaking is scheduled for September of this year, and the facility is expected to enter operation in 2027. Efficiency Meets Personalization Located south of the existing paint shop at the Dingolfing factory, the Centre for Special and Individual Paintwork will cover about 21,000 square feet across two levels and will be staffed by up to 10 people. BMW offers up to 300 color shades for customers to choose from, not including special finishes for limited-edition models. The new facility will create a more efficient process for some of the lower-volume paint jobs, so that more cars can leave the factory with individualized paint, according to the automaker. BMW expects throughput times to fall by a quarter, with reductions in the cost per painted body as well. Personalization Options Soar BMW isn't the only luxury brand to emphasize personalization options. Acura Launches Attractive MDX Lease Offer for August
By signing up I agree to the Terms of Use and acknowledge that I have read the Privacy Policy . You may unsubscribe from email communication at anytime. View post: This Cordless Hedge Trimmer Is a 'Game Changer for Garden Maintenance' — And It's Only $40 at Walmart The one-of-two Lamborghini Gallardo Concept S is back at Monterey Car Week for the Gallardo's 20th anniversary, revisiting the stage where it first wowed enthusiasts. UK motoring publication Motor Express reports that Vee-Dub is trying out a power subscription on owners of the cheapest EV it sells in the country. August 2025 Acura MDX lease deal Acura has introduced a compelling lease offer on the 2025 MDX SH-AWD. If you're shopping for a refined, three-row luxury SUV, this deal could make bringing an MDX home easier. The current offer is $589 per month for 36 months, with a down payment of $6,499 due at signing and a 10,000-mile annual mileage limit. It expires on September 2, 2025. Acura's 'Loyalty/Conquest Offer' also offers Acura a $1,000 incentive—either as money off the down payment or toward reducing the cost you finance—if you lease or buy a new 2025 Acura MDX (excluding the high-performance Type S). To qualify, you must currently own a 2015 or newer vehicle from Acura or one of the listed competing brands: Audi, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Genesis, Honda, Infiniti, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Tesla, or Volvo. By providing your email address, you agree that it may be used pursuant to Arena Group's Privacy Policy. We may receive compensation. The MDX sits at the top of Acura's SUV lineup, alongside the smaller RDX and the new ADX. It goes head-to-head with heavy hitters like the Audi Q7, Lexus GX, and Lincoln Aviator, but stands out with a strong blend of style, tech, and value. For 2025, the MDX gets a light refresh that includes updated bumpers, new wheel designs, and a revised grille. Inside, the center console layout has been reworked, and buyers can now opt for 16-way power-adjustable front seats with a massage function. The base model—featured in this lease offer—also gains two additional speakers, while a Bang & Olufsen audio system joins the options list. Acura offers the MDX in six trims, so choosing a higher-end version will mean a higher monthly payment. Power for the standard MDX comes from a 290-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive available. If you want more punch, the performance-oriented Type S swaps in a 355-horsepower turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 and comes standard with all-wheel drive. Potential lessees who want to skip the upfront payment can roll the $6,499 due at signing into the monthly cost. Spreading that amount over the 36-month term adds roughly $180.53 per month, bringing the estimated payment to about $769 monthly. *This $0 down figure is an estimation. Acura RSX Prototype Debuts At Monterey Car Week Ahead Of 2026 Production
Monterey Welcomes Acura's Reimagined RSX The original Acura RSX was a two-door coupe closely related to the Integra of the time, but the new one won't be anything like the front-wheel-drive hot hatch. Acura today unveiled the RSX Prototype, a concept previewing next year's performance SUV, at Monterey Car Week in California, where it will be displayed at both The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering and the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Although a concept in 'Prototype' form, this is clearly close to production, softening and simplifying the design of last year's Performance EV Concept. There's a real drivetrain in this pre-production RSX, too, as this previews the first model to be produced on Honda's in-house-developed global EV platform. Acura RSX Debuts ASIMO OS, Promises Exciting Driving Experience Acura says the RSX will be usable as a backup power supply, much like Ford's Pro Power Onboard system, allowing one to power devices or even the home from the EV's battery. Helping run things will be the first application of ASIMO OS, a new operating system 'designed to learn the preferences and driving behavior of the vehicle's owner to deliver an ultra-personal in-car experience.' Unfortunately, Acura has not revealed any of the cabin, so we can't see how this interface looks or operates. What we do know is that, as standard, the RSX will have a dual-motor AWD system, double wishbone front suspension, and Brembo brakes. With the battery contributing to a low center of gravity, the handling ought to cash the check that the styling writes. Hopefully, this new Propulsion Yellow Pearl paint (different from the Indy Yellow Pearl on the NSX and the Integra Type R HRC Prototype) will be available from the start of production. Otherwise, this is in danger of looking almost exactly like a Model Y from the rear. New RSX Will Be Built In America In 2026 Another first for the RSX is that it'll open EV manufacturing at the Honda EV Hub in Ohio, being put together on the same Marysville Auto Plant production line as the Integra. The ability to build gas, hybrid, and all-electric cars within the U.S. should help keep pricing competitive with the Mustang Mach-E ($37,995) and Chevy Blazer EV ($44,600), in spite of tariffs. However, with the RSX set to offer AWD and Brembo brakes as standard, as well as wearing an Acura badge rather than a Honda one, we suspect pricing may start closer to $50,000, if not higher. It all depends on how much goes into the SUV. We'll find out soon enough – the production RSX is scheduled to arrive in the second half of 2026, and Acura will no doubt share more information and imagery between now and then.
