Pro Kabaddi League 2025: Ankit Jaglan Named Patna Pirates Captain For Season 12
Patna Pirates have named their captain and vice-captain in the form of Ankit Jaglan and Deepak Singh as they look forward to kicking off their campaign on the 1st of September 2025 against the UP Yoddhas. Patna Pirates is looking for its fourth championship title in the upcoming season to cement their position as by far the best franchise throughout the Pro Kabaddi League.
Having come a very close second in the last edition of the PKL, the Anup Kumar-led Patna Pirates are currently training as part of their pre-season camp and are gunning to start the season strong. Ankit Jaglan, Captain, who has been with Patna Pirates for the 3rd year running, is the highest-paid all-rounder and has proven his mettle with his speed and agility, including a high tackle percentage rate last season. Deepak Singh, Vice-Captain, the star defender for the squad, has accumulated a total of 282 tackles, showcasing his ability to disrupt the opposing team's raiders effectively and is crucial to the team's impenetrable defense.

'A lot of people when they've come into the Aussie team have had that experience. I know Josh Inglis was very similar in his first few years of touring. It's such a hard team to crack into. I'll be trying to take my opportunity when it comes," Hardie was quoted as saying to reporters on Friday. When given the chance, Hardie has impressed with the ball, often taking the new ball in T20Is — a role not typically associated with his domestic reputation as a batting all-rounder. 'I love bowling off the top. As the allrounder, it's good to get those overs out of the way early and support the guys with a few more skills throughout the middle overs. When the ball is swinging, it's good with two fielders out — but when it stops swinging, it's not as fun," he added. Slowly but surely, the Western Australian is beginning to establish his own place in the white-ball teams whenever he is selected in the XI. Surprisingly, for someone who initially gained recognition as a batting all-rounder on the domestic scene, Hardie has opened the bowling in eight of the 12 T20I innings he has bowled in. Although his batting is yet to be proven at the international level — he has only batted higher than No.7 once in the past 12 months — his ability as an out-swing bowler with the new ball has become a significant part of his appeal. While his batting remains largely untested at the international level, Hardie believes he is ready to do whatever the team requires. 'I pride myself on being able to fill any hole possible, whether that's up the order or in the middle, and bowl any overs from one to 20 in the T20 format," he concluded. Jai Hind," Bhaker captioned the video. Who Is Manu Bhaker? Bhaker created history at the Paris Olympics when she became the first ever Indian female shooter to win a medal at the Summer Games. She secured the bronze medal in women's 10m air pistol event. She didn't stop at that. Bhaker then joined forces with Sarabjot Singh in the 10m air pistol mixed team event to win her second medal of the quadrennial event in Paris. It was India's first ever team event medal at an Olympics. This was also the first time that an Indian won two medals at a single Olympics. She cam close to completing a hat-trick of medals but finished fourth in women's 25m pistol event. Besides her feats at the Paris Olympics, Bhaker has also won medals in the 25m event at the Shooting World Championships – gold in 2023 and silver in 2022. Danish Golf Championship: Shubhankar in danger of missing cut
Copenhagen (Denmark), Aug 15 (PTI) Shubhankar Sharma played a round of even par 71 on the opening day of the Danish Golf Championship at the Par-71 Furesø Golf Klub in Denmark. Sharma was tied-70th and would need to add a good second round to make the cut for the weekend. Having failed to make the cut since the Hero Indian Open held earlier this year in March, Shubhankar would be keen to avoid an early end to his week. Veer Ahlawat shot a dismal 2-over 73 and was in danger of missing the cut as he was tied 113th. Sharma birdied the sixth and then gave away three bogey in a row from the eighth to the tenth. He further birdied the 12th, 16th and 18th and in between bogeyed the 14th as he shot even par. Englishman Marco Penge played a bogey free round of 7-under 64 to set a new course record and place himself as the sole leader by two strokes at the end of the first day. Penge made birdies on the third, sixth, 11th, 13th, and 14th holes. He closed his round with an eagle on the 18th. The Englishman has made six top 30 finishes in seven starts to catapult himself to the fifth spot in the Race to Dubai rankings. Højgaard is joined in a share of second by 2018 Open Champion Francesco Molinari, Canadian Aaron Cockerill, Jeremy Paul of Germany and Scotsman Marc Warren. Last year's runner-up Lucas Bjerregaard sits in a share of seventh alongside six others. Nicolai Højgaard had a round to remember as he spectacularly holed out for eagle twice in the space of three holes. Playing in the group ahead of twin brother Rasmus, Nicolai was two over par through ten holes before he holed out from 111 yards on the par four 12th. Two holes later at the 14th, he made his second eagle of the day, this time holing out from 144 yards. He then birdied the last to sign for a three under par 68 and a share of 14th place.
