Charges laid after man shot dead in Langley last year

Charges have been laid in connection with a shooting death in Langley, B.C., last September.
When officers arrived at 196 Street and 84 Avenue, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
Johnathan Hebrada-Walters, 38, of Edmonton, died of his injuries at the scene.
Another man, also suffering from gunshot wounds, was located at 208 Street and 78 Avenue and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Barinder Singh Dhaliwal,42, was arrested and charged on Wednesday with possession of a loaded firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm while prohibited.
No one has yet been charged with Hebrada-Walters's homicide.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) say that the B.C. Prosecution Service laid the charges based on the evidence it provided.
IHIT says that there are no additional suspects and that no additional information will be released as the matter is before the courts.

Man's death in Sainte-Thérèse, Que., linked to potential chemical poisoning
A man died after a possible chemical poisoning in Sainte-Thérèse, Que., on Friday night, according to police. Shortly before 10 p.m. on Friday, Sainte-Thérèse police received a 911 call reporting two people having health problems. Police said when officers arrived at the scene, they found a man and a woman who were unconscious. Neighbouring homes were temporarily evacuated as a preventive measure after police found chemical products used for outdoor work nearby. First responders carried out CPR on the victims and brought them to the hospital, where the man was pronounced dead. Toronto police are searching for a man who they say allegedly threatened a stranger with a gun in North York's Flemingdon Park area Thursday afternoon. Officers say they were called to the St. Dennis Drive and Deauville Lane area at around 4:30 p.m. for reports of a person with a firearm. It's alleged that the suspect approached the victim and began a conversation before revealing what appeared to be a firearm tucked in his waistband and threatening to shoot. Police say 'he was wearing a black facemask, black swaeter, blue/black pants and black shoes." Police are urging the public not to approach the man if spotted, and are asking anyone with information to come forward or call 911 immediately if seen.
