On the Tuesday, June 17, episode of Today with Jenna & Friends, Bush Hager, 43, dramatically revealed her new bob hairstyle, inspired by actress Leslie Bibb's short, blonde look in The White Lotus.
"This is my hair," Bush Hager announced as she walked on stage with Bibb, who served as a guest co-host for the episode.
When they sat at the desk, Bush Hager reflected on the change to her appearance: "I feel a little... You know that '90s movie Single White Female, where you try to copy somebody to such an extent? You made this haircut so famous, and then I used your hairstylist, who is a star, to get the exact same haircut, and I'm feeling a little strange."
Bibb was quick to reply, saying, "You don't look strange. You look sexy and powerful and glamorous. And I kept saying it yesterday — you're a badass."
Her co-host was a fan of the look. However, the mom of three revealed that her kids weren't as thrilled. She aired a video of herself debuting her new look to her kids, who said that they were not fans.
One of her daughters even ran off pretending to cry, which Bush Hager said was "our love language."
"The best thing is my husband [Henry Hager] did like it. He was like, 'D--- that's hot.' Which was sweet," Bush Hager said, adding that he defended her when one of her girls said that she didn't like the new cut.
Bibb proclaimed that Hager said the "best thing" in response to her daughter: "He was like, 'She don't know fashion.' "
"I felt lighter. There's a lot of change happening, and I feel a little embarrassed by the attention. Which I know, the people who work with me are like, 'Mother loves attention,' But I felt a little embarrassed," she said, prompting Bibb to reply that she was displaying vulnerability, which was powerful.
On the June 16 episode of the morning talk show, Bibb herself and celebrity hairstylist Chris McMillan stopped by to discuss Bush Hager's hair — and McMillan stepped up to cut her hair live on TV, although they saved the reveal for June 17.
"When I was here back in March, Jenna vowed to get on board with the bob, and today is the day," Bibb told the audience.
In the episode, Bush Hager spoke about McMillan's background in celebrity hair — and the group discussed how Bibb's White Lotus haircut was so influential that it inspired viewers of the show to chop their own hair.
"I didn't expect it [to go viral] because it was just a grow out of a short haircut," McMillan told Bush Hager on Monday. "The intention wasn't to give her a bob, it was to grow her out into a bob."

While Bush Hager has mainly rocked her well-known long, dirty blonde hairstyle for much of her adult life, she's switched up her look a few times.
In May, the mom-of-three also hilariously recounted her experience losing a clip-in extension while at Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter tour because she was dancing so hard.
During the episode, her co-host Justin Sylvester produced one of Bush Hager's temporary extensions and said, "It's one of your clip-in extensions. Security gave it to me last night when we were walking out. Because the baby girl was dancing so hard, she lost a clip-in at 'Single Ladies.' So, yeah, let's talk about being hungover."
In 2020, she pulled a somewhat similar live TV stunt soon after lockdown began. At the time, she shared that she had been spending a few weeks social distancing at home and was unable to go to the hair salon to get her roots done, so she decided to take matters into her own hands by inviting celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton on for a Zoom lesson on how to do a temporary powder root cover-up.
'Some people would wonder why you would do this, but I guess if you have an important Zoom meeting or maybe a family birthday or something or maybe just to make your husband feel uncomfortable on television,' Bush Hager joked, referencing her how her husband Harry Hager was assisting her with the process.

How I Became a Death-Defying 'Danger Angel'

From the June 1995 issue of Car and Driver. The most convincing testimony as to the driving skills of the daredevil flock that has evolved into the Joie Chitwood Chevy Thunder Show is that, in more than 50 years of crash-and-burn mayhem, only two drivers associated with the Chitwoods—one a guy called Lucky—have been killed in the line of duty. The stunt that killed Lucky Teeter at the Indianapolis State Fair during World War II was called "The Aerial Rocket Car Leap." Lucky had dreamed it up a decade earlier. It's a ramp-to-ramp leap in a car, and when his vehicle fell short of the second ramp, that was it for Lucky. After Lucky went to his reward, a young stuntman in his troupe named Joie Chitwood bought his equipment and started his own show. And when Joie died in 1988, he left behind his name and his show to his sons Joie Jr. and Tim. The rocket leap is now the specialty of 39-year-old Tim Chitwood. For 29 years, Tim has made a living spinning cars around on a dime and turning them into metal roughage. For this, the show's grand finale, he drives a Chevy Camaro full-throttle into the mouth of a steel tube just eight feet in diameter and 20 feet long. Barreling upward through it, he launches the Camaro through a shower of fireworks and over a row of four or five junkers before he lands some 65 feet away. Jenna Bush Hager reveals 'White Lotus'-inspired bob haircut on the 'Today' show

Jenna Bush Hager debuted a new haircut on Tuesday. On the June 16 episode of Jenna & Friends, Hager was joined by The White Lotus actress Leslie Bibb, who famously rocked a blunt bob during the show's third season. Bibb brought her hairstylist, Chris McMillan, to the show to give Hager a brand new bob of her own — during the episode's live taping. Hager showcased her new hairdo during Tuesday's episode of Jenna & Friends alongside Bibb, who joined her once again. While Hager's children weren't fans of the Today host's new look, her husband was very much on board. 'My husband did like it,' Hager told Bibb. 'He was like, 'Damn, that's hot.'' Before cutting Hager's hair, McMillan likened the modern bob to 'spring cleaning.' 'Bobs are like spring cleaning,' McMillan said on Monday. 'There's some bad damage, bad layers. It sort of evens it up.' McMillan also assured the Today host that he'd be giving her a 'modern version' of a bob, which is characterized by its 'blunter' and 'not so layer-y' appearance. Bibb stood next to Hager, hyping her up as McMillan carried out the dramatic change. As a celebrity hairstylist, McMillan has worked with several of Hollywood's biggest names — like Jennifer Aniston during her Friends run. The beloved stylist was responsible for giving Aniston her now iconic, quintessential '90s haircut known as 'The Rachel.' McMillan spoke of the modern bob's versatility and how its simplicity can elevate a person's look. 'You can slick it behind your ears, like do the tuck,' he told Hager, adding that the style also allows for the hair to be worn down on one side of the face and tucked back on the other, for an asymmetrical look. 'You can wear it natural, you can wear it wavy,' McMillan added. Bibb's blunt bob immediately captured the attention of fans online following the Season 3 premiere of The White Lotus. The Popular actress previously told that the hairstyle received a vulgar nickname, thanks to her White Lotus costar Aimee Lou Wood. 'Aimee Lou is British. Aimee Lou is like my sister. So we're very close, so we talk a lot, and do voice memos to each other,' Bibb said. 'I think it was maybe the first episode or something, and she sent, 'My friend wanted me to tell you that he's f***ing loving you and your c***y little bob.' McMillan even captured the moment he gave Bibb her blunt bob. 'Ummmm can you say iconic?? @mslesliebibb and I are always trouble together now let's see the 'c***y little bob' become the look of the year with color by @traceycunningham1,' McMillan wrote. Bibb left a comment on McMillan's Instagram post, writing, 'I LOVE YOU SO MUCH @ have been doing this a long time together... thank you for always making it so fun and effortless to help me find some new person to the GOAT ❤️'
