A TECH CEO was killed when his friend's knee smashed into his head in a freak mid-air skydiving collision.
Thomas Britis, the 44-year-old head of a fiberoptics firm, crashed down into a field after he and his pal leapt from a small plane in Brazil, according to local officials.

Both the pair's parachutes deployed, reports Brazilian outlet G1, suggesting Thomas had been able to release it but unable to gain control.
He was rushed to a local hospital but tragically died from his injuries.
Thomas, CEO of Voluy Telecom, was described by his family as a "very experienced" skydiver who had been jumping from planes since 2014.
He and his friend bagan their jump from the Boituva National Skydiving Center in São Paulo state.

His dive partner was reportedly also treated in hospital.
Both the parachutes and a helmet were seized by police, and forensics are working to identity the precise cause of death.
Police are also investigating the death, which is currently being treated as suspicious.
Thomas's cousin, Mayra, paid him an emotional tribute.
She told G1: "He worked very hard, was very loving to his son, to his family.
"He was so experienced, it was such a silly accident. No one ever imagined it would happen."

Mayra continued: "I was getting ready to go get my nails done when I got the phone call.
I broke the news of the death to the rest of the family. I live in Uberlândia and had to come to Pouso Alegre.
He was so young, he was in the best phase of his life, doing something he loved so much.
"Despite the distance, we were always close. Thomas was also best man at my wedding."
She insisted: "There was no one who didn't love him."
Their statement read: 'His energy, commitment, and passion for innovation left a profound mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
"In this time of mourning, we join in solidarity with his family, friends, and all who share this great loss."
Thomas's company remembered him as a passionate leader.
The Brazilian Parachuting Confederation (CBPq) said it regretted the accident, and explained that the collision happened during the separation phase of a "Desloc" jump.
This is a free flight technique where the parachutist uses the body to generate lift and horizontal movement while falling.
The CBPq has already instructed a technical expert to prepare a report into the accident.
A statement from the parachuting body read: "At this difficult time, our thoughts are with our athlete, his family, and the entire skydiving community.
"We reiterate our commitment to the safety and integrity of everyone involved in our sporting activity."
The Boituva city hall confirmed that both jumped had their parachutes open when they landed - but that Thomas's decent was uncontrolled.
He was rescued by the Fire Department and taken to São Luís Hospital, where his death was confirmed.

Violent abusers set to be forced to stay inside ‘restriction zones' under tough new laws

New laws mean victims won't have to reshape their lives to avoid their offenders 'STRENGTHEN SAFEGUARDS' Violent abusers set to be forced to stay inside 'restriction zones' under tough new laws Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) VIOLENT abusers are to be made to stay inside 'restriction zones' for the first time under new laws. They must remain in certain areas, monitored by GPS tags, with potential jail time for a breach. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 Victims' minister Alex Davies-Jones said the new laws 'will strengthen safeguards' Credit: Facebook @Alex Davies-Jones MP Current laws ban thugs from an area — normally around a victim's home. Campaigners say that restricts victims' freedoms, as they feel safe only when they stay in their exclusion zones — and not when elsewhere. Probation services will enlist victims to draw up a list of locations offenders are allowed to visit. The Ministry of Justice move came after lobbying from campaigners. It may be introduced as part of the Sentencing Bill going through Parliament. Victims' minister Alex Davies-Jones said it 'will strengthen safeguards'. Announcing the change, Minister for Victims and Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls Alex Davies-Jones said: 'Through our Plan for Change, we're putting victims first. 'This move will strengthen safeguards for victims. "I've heard firsthand how this innovative approach will give them the peace of mind they deserve and rebuild their lives without fear.' Diana Parkes CBE and Hetti Barkworth-Nanton CBE, who are co-founders of the Joanna Simpson Foundation, said: 'For far too long, victims have had to reshape their lives to avoid their offenders. "Exclusion zones have made victims feel trapped as though they are the ones serving a sentence, with the victim carrying the weight of someone else's crime. 'This announcement from the Ministry of Justice is the much-needed change that has long been called for and is a powerful step forward. "By placing restrictions on offenders instead, this will now give survivors the freedom they deserve to live, move and heal without fear. "

Man Utd have gone from ‘bust by Christmas' warning to £200m splurge topped by Sesko – how has Ratcliffe masterminded it?

The Red Devils will splash over £200million for the third straight window as striker Benjamin Sesko looks set to join Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha at Old Trafford. Of course, it's not always sensible to compare and time will tell, but Jurgen Klopp's prolific front line of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah netted 46 during their title-winning 2020 campaign. While the ENTIRE United squad scored just 49 combined in the Prem last term as they recorded the club's lowest ever Premier League finish from 15th in the table. But Slovenian hotshot Sesko, 22, chose a move to Old Trafford before their offer of £65.1m plus a further £8.7m in add-ons even came in. READ MORE SPORTS NEWS LOST HIS COL Chelsea star Colwill to miss almost entire season as he undergoes ACL surgery United's approach followed a club-record bid from Newcastle, who have the richest owners in the world, were willing to pay more in wages and have Champions League football to look forward to this season. But how has Ruben Amorim's side, who aren't in Europe at all, been able to splash the cash again months after part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe claimed poverty? Ratcliffe revealed that there was potential for the club to go "bust by Christmas' without massive cost-cutting measures as 450 staff were made redundant and fancy free lunches were scrapped. SunSport explains how United can afford Sesko - who is set to become the club's fourth most expensive signing ever. SUN VEGAS WELCOME OFFER: GET £50 BONUS WHEN YOU JOIN 10 Man Utd transfers Mbeumo and Cunha joined in deals worth £62.5m and £71m respectively, but United's summer spending will reach £207m with Sesko. SunSport's chief reporter Martin Lipton previews the season ahead for Man Utd... with confidence in the air But the trio's staggered payments will reduce the immediate financial impact on the balance sheets, allowing them to stay within the PSR limits that restrict losses to £105m over a three-year period. Cunha was bought before PSR's cut-off date on June 30, so the Brazilian's arrival goes into the 2024/2025 financial year. Marcus Rashford's season-long loan move to Barcelona, which has an option to buy, has saved £14m in wages despite the lack of a transfer fee, having earned in excess of £325,000-a-week. And the sales of former players Alvaro Carreras, Anthony Elanga and Maxi Oyedele have also banked United more than £20m in sell-on fees. United also earned 100 per cent profit from the sales of Mason Greenwood and Scott McTominay last summer, and will aim to sell several other unwanted players before this window closes, including Alejandro Garnacho. The club hopes Chelsea will pay at least £50million for the 21-year-old Argentine winger. Meanwhile, Stamford Bridge chiefs owe United £5m for going back on their obligation to buy Jadon Sancho after his decent loan stint last season. United are desperate to sell Sancho, 25, this summer, as they're now back stuck with his full £300,000 wage packet. The departures of other 'Bomb Squad' members Antony and Tyrell Malacia will help balance the books even more. In terms of outgoings, Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof have all been released for free. 10 Barcelona's taking on of Marcus Rashford's astronomical wages has massive helped Manchester United Credit: ALAMY 10 United are hoping the potential £50million sale of Alejandro Garnacho will also reduce their financial outlay this summer Credit: GETTY Man Utd PSR pressure 'exaggerated'? Football finance expert Kieran Maguire told BBC Sport: "Some of the scare stories were perhaps a bit overblown. "Man Utd are not as successful as a business as they would like to be, but they are still successful. For example, their wage bill is around half of their income, which is very good by Premier League standards." Manchester United PLC lost £131m in the 2023-24 financial year, with a lot coming in interest, and the costs of the Ineos takeover - which doesn't count towards PSR. United's immense global brand and massive fanbase make it a commercial powerhouse, generating significant revenue from broadcasting, sponsorships, and merchandise sales. In June, the club revealed an annual core profit forecast of £180m-£190m, up from an earlier projection of £145m-£160m and a £20m reduction in wages from the same point in 2024. The total revenue was £160.5m, up from £136.7m in the same period, with matchday, commercial and Prem broadcast streams all rising. According to The Athletic, United could lose an estimated £141m in 2025-26 without incurring a breach of PSR. At the end of April, the club, who have angered fans by raising ticket prices, paid off £50m of their existing revolving credit facilities (RCFs). That has given them extra £140m borrowing scope this summer - but in turn, extra interest costs could be a factor down the line. 10 Manchester United PLC lost £131m in the 2023-24 financial year Credit: getty The shock role of Red Football Ltd. Red Football Ltd is a key subsidiary company within the United ownership structure. The Glazer family used this UK-based company as their acquisition vehicle to purchase the club in 2005. And according to The Athletic, United's PSR is based on the accounts of Red Football Ltd rather than the publicly listed entity, Manchester United plc. This distinction is huge because the accounts of Red Football Ltd often show smaller losses than those of the PLC, which is registered under the New York Stock Exchange. These are all things from the past, whether we like it or not, we've inherited those things and have to sort that out." Sir Jim Ratcliffe This is partly due to the way loans and costs are structured within the larger corporate group. United's pre-tax loss at plc-level was a whopping £130.7m during the 2023-24 season alone, but Red Football Ltd's was just £36.2m. According to Premier League's rules, clubs can only submit the accounts of a UK-registered company for testing against PSR. By using the accounts of the subsidiary for the PSR calculation, the club can have more "wiggle room" to spend on transfers and wages while staying within the Prem's financial limits. This accounting structure has been cited as one of the reasons the club has been able to secure new signings despite reported financial concerns. 10 Sir Jim Ratcliffe's brutal cuts over the last few months have contributed to United's warchest Credit: Getty Ratcliffe was talking about cash A lack of free cash is what Ratcliffe was referring to in his bombshell 'no money left' interview in March. The Ineos chief revealed that United still owed transfer instalment money for Andre Onana, Sancho, Antony, Casemiro and Rasmus Hojlund. The 72-year-old billionaire said: "These are all things from the past, whether we like it or not, we've inherited those things and have to sort that out." Cash flow needs to be more carefully managed at Old Trafford. But a combination of recent cuts to staff and the club's continued ability to borrow means there are avenues available to them. The redundancies do look brutal, but that is part of the Ineos business model, they have done that at other companies. United can spend without fear of PSR breaches, although the spending on talent now is designed to return them to Champions League football soon. 10 The debt Manchester United will accrue for their proposed new stadium won't be included in PSR calculations Credit: MANCHESTER UNITED What about the new stadium? United may struggle to fund their proposed new stadium, with the club responsible for paying the £2billion needed for the ground itself. Although Ratcliffe has received government backing for the Regeneration Project surrounding the Trafford Park area, it is unclear how much funding they will provide. But the stadium will likely end up costing more than £2billion by the end of the project and 100,000 seats seems ambitious. While stadium redevelopment plans will involve taking on borrowed debt, this debt won't be included in PSR calculations.

They were reportedly asked due to investigators seeing if it involved potential domestic violence. But a family source revealed to the MailOnline the pair grew close to one another after they both split from their partners. They soon got into into a relationship and have now been together for the past two years, according to the source. They said: "Mark and Jasmine have been seeing each other for a few years, but they've never admitted it. "[The couple] do an awful lot together and they go away on holiday with the children a couple of times every year. "They went to Florida two years ago and have been to Budapest where she posted pictures of them together like a couple." Wyld - a hairdresser - separated from Gibbon's son Alex, 34, back in 2021 but the pair still share two young children together. Gibbon divorced his wife and lives alone at a £800,000 semi-detached home in Beaconsfield he purchased in 2023. The secret couple are alleged to spend a lot of time inside the large Buckinghamshire home together. Alex has had several major issues with his dad in the past including being jailed in 2024 for driving into Gibbon with an £80,000 Porsche Cayenne. The pair also became embroiled in a public row in 2023 after Alex left his dad's business for an unknown reason. The family source confirmed that Alex and Gibbon no longer speak. They added: "He feels an awful betrayal at how his dad has struck up a relationship with the mother of his two children." Gibbon is now behind bars over a separate family falling out with Wyld. The couple were on holiday at the Solterra Resort in Devenport, near Disney World, Florida with the two children. Gibbon and Wyld soon began arguing over the "stipulations of his will" around a pool, according to US police. The granddad then pushed Jasmine's head "under the water and held her down multiple times", according to the arrest affidavit. She told cops after the ordeal she "could not breathe and believed that she was going to drown," according to Polk's County Sheriff's Office. 7 Wyld and Gibbon's son Alex share two children together Credit: Facebook 7 The secret couple are alleged to spend a lot of time inside Gibbon's large Buckinghamshire home together Credit: Facebook 7 Wyld was saved by her daughter and two neighbours after Gibbon allegedly forced her head underwater Credit: Facebook According to deputies, Jasmine was forced to "fight Mark in order to get away from him and from under the water but he kept pushing her back under". Her nine-year-old daughter then tried to help despite having no idea what was going on as she leapt into the water to her mother's defence She tried desperately to intervene, but Gibbon allegedly kept pushing her away. Jasmine spotted some two women in the distance and screamed at them to call 911. Gibbon is said to have stopped only when the sisters said they were calling the sheriff's office. He now faces one count of attempted murder and two counts of battery. The family source admitted the pair had been through troubling times of late. They said: "But I have been told that Jasmine was unhappy that they have been in a relationship for a few years and she is not named in his will." When questioned, Gibbon allegedly admitted to pushing Jasmine underwater, but insisted he hadn't been trying to drown her. He claimed they had been drinking, began arguing and that she slapped him - which triggered the fight, reports Law & Crime. Gibbon is a lighting technician, who runs his own firm called MRG Lighting. He has worked on music videos for Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Paloma Faith, according to his website, as well as on film and TV sets. He is also listed as the only director of Sage Hairdressing. The Sun has reached out to Gibbon for comment.
