
6 held for arson at coal projects in Latehar
Latehar SP Kumar Gaurav said the men were involved in the cases of arson at Phulbasiya coal siding in Baatiyatu police station limits on July 5, torching vehicles at Tori coal siding under Chandwa police station on July 9 and a similar incident in Magadh coal project on July 18 under Balumath police station limits to extort money from contractors.
Among the arrested, one is a resident of Ranchi while three others are from Latehar. Two others are Hazaribag residents, Gaurav said. "They used to communicate with Dubey through Telegram," he added. All of them are in their late twenties. One 7.65 mm pistol, five rounds of cartridges, bikes and six mobile phones were seized from them, the police said. One was arrested from Ranchi while five others were nabbed from various parts of Latehar district.

Gonda Canal Incident At least eleven people died after a vehicle carrying pilgrims fell into a canal in the Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. Representational file image JAMMU : Two members of a Amarnath yatra kitchen service died and three of their colleagues were injured when their car plunged into a deep gorge on Lakhanpur-Basholi road in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district Sunday. Locals and police rescued all five occupants from the mangled remains of the car and rushed them to Government Medical College Hospital, Kathua. Man dies in Bhagalpur accident
Bhagalpur: A 27-year-old man died after his bike was knocked down by a speeding vehicle on NH-31 near toll plaza under Naugachia police station area in Bhagalpur district on Saturday night. The deceased was identified as Nilesh Kumar , son of Santosh Kumar of Choti Lagar village under Parbatta police station in Khagaria district. The deceased was reportedly a teacher in a Middle School at Harin Mar village under same police station. Police has recovered a leave application from his pocket.
