Time of Indiaa day ago

In a major breakthrough, Manipur Police and security forces recovered a staggering 328 illegal weapons during coordinated intelligence-based operations across five districts of the Imphal Valley on the night of June 13 and 14. The seized arsenal includes 151 SLRs, 65 INSAS rifles, AK series rifles, MP5s, mortars, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. This operation, led by joint teams of the Manipur Police, Army, Assam Rifles, and CAPF, is seen as a decisive move towards restoring peace and order in the violence-hit state. Over 4,000 weapons had been looted during the ethnic clashes, raising concerns over lawlessness. While it's unclear if the recovered arms are among the stolen ones, officials affirm that such operations will continue. The police have urged public cooperation in reporting illegal arms.
