Speaking to the media on Monday, Fazilpuria dismissed theories he had orchestrated the attack to have his security reinstated.
The singer also dismissed an alleged claim of a loan amounting to Rs 5 crore — mentioned in a post by a gangster after the attack — and questioned its authenticity.
Sharing details of the incident, the singer said he had left his office in Fazilpur for his home when a car approached from the rear.
"Two men sitting behind were looking at me. I mistook them as fans. The men in that car intercepted my vehicle, following which I stopped near a divider. Two men stepped outside the car and I still thought that those were my fans and wanted to meet me. I was shocked to see one of them holding a weapon, following which I reversed my car and escaped while they fired at me," Fazilpuria said, adding he was alone on July 14 while heading home.
Regarding threats, the singer said after he protested against the gangsters responsible for the killing of Punjabi singer
, he received multiple threats and subsequently received security from the Haryana police.
"My security was withdrawn 20 days prior to the attack on me. After the security was withdrawn, I requested the Gurgaon commissioner for a review. He said my plea was under consideration. After the attack on me, I was even under police scanner as there was a theory that I might have staged it, which is not the case at all.

I received a threat call in Punjabi and some other gang took responsibility on the same evening. I want the police to do a detailed investigation and nab the accused," the singer added.
Following the attack, a viral message emerged in which Sunil Sardhania, an alleged member of the Himanshu Bhau gang, took responsibility for the shooting. The message said the firing was intended to warn the singer to repay Rs 5 crore to one Deepak Nandal within a month to avoid severe consequences.
However, Fazilpuria, on Monday, denied the allegations of any such loan or investment, saying that he "never took any loan from Nandal, who was his old friend", and that all music labels had invested in his career.
Two days after the attack, a suspect, identified as Vishal —25 year old— of Sonipat, was arrested from his village Jajal. Police are yet to arrest a co-accused.

Man hires contract killer for 50k to kill biz rival, arrested

Jabalpur: A man was arrested for allegedly hiring a contract killer to murder his business rival to settle a long-standing commercial dispute, in the Khitola area of Jabalpur district. The shooter, currently lodged in Katni jail in connection with a separate murder of a woman, carried out the killing for a payment of Rs 50,000. The accused was arrested on July 20 by Katni police. It was after his arrest that this seven-month-old murder mystery was resolved. The incident took place on Dec 5, 2024, when 47-year-old Malkhe Chakravarty, a resident of Ward No 17, was shot dead at his shop. Police investigation led to the arrest of his neighbour, Lallu alias Lalu Chakravarty, who allegedly plotted the murder due to repeated disputes with the victim. Additional SP Suryakant Sharma said that the motive behind the killing stemmed from a prior altercation involving the victim and Lallu's brother, Chandan Chakravarty. The two families clashed in the past, and a case related to a stabbing incident was already pending in court. Accused Lallu was also upset that the victim allegedly abused customers visiting his shop, affecting his business. Based on this rivalry, Lallu is said to have contacted Shailendra Pandey, a resident of Khitola, and offered him Rs 50,000 to carry out the murder. On the day of the incident, Lallu informed Pandey that the victim was alone at his shop. Pandey allegedly arrived at the location, shot Malkhe Chakravarty, and fled through the rear exit. Police have seized the mobile phone and SIM card used in the crime. While Lallu has been taken into custody, Shailendra Pandey is currently lodged in Katni jail in connection with a rape case.
