Sufi Star Heer Walia Casts a Spell Over Delhi at Bonne Foi 65

Under a velvet sky strewn with stars, music and mysticism entwined at Bonne Foi 65 in East of Kailash, where celebrated Sufi songstress Heer Walia delivered a transcendent live performance that left Delhi breathless.
Eminent singer from the Sufi world, Heer Walia, performing under the stars at Bonne Foi 65, East of Kailash
The rooftop oasis, already renowned for its chic ambiance and gourmet offerings, transformed into a sanctum of sound and spirit this past Saturday night. As the city's skyline shimmered in the distance, Walia's haunting vocals soared above the din of daily life, weaving together the poetry of Bulleh Shah, the ecstasy of Amir Khusrau, and her own hypnotic interpretations of folk traditions passed down through generations.
Every verse was a prayer, every note a thread in a rich tapestry of emotion that held the audience captive. From her first breath to the final chord, Walia didn't just perform-she invoked. The crowd-an eclectic mix of date-night duos, music connoisseurs, curious foodies, and spiritual seekers-sat spellbound, swaying in rhythm, many mouthing lyrics, some with closed eyes and hearts wide open.
'I came for dinner and stayed for divinity,' said Ananya Mehta, echoing the sentiments of many who left the evening transformed. 'It felt less like a concert and more like a communion.'
The venue rose to the occasion with grace. Dimmed, golden lighting cast a warm glow across elegant tables adorned with Mediterranean platters, Indian-fusion masterpieces, and desserts decadent enough to tempt the most disciplined. Signature cocktails-infused with herbs, spices, and a touch of alchemy-flowed as effortlessly as the music.

Avnee Yadav, Co-Founder and Experience Curator at Bonne Foi 65, added, 'To see people come together, not just to dine but to feel something deeper through music, is what Bonne Foi is all about. Nights like these remind us why we started this journey-to celebrate art, soul, and togetherness.'
As Walia closed her set to a standing ovation and resounding calls for an encore, the air seemed to hum with more than applause-it carried gratitude, reverence, and the unmistakable magic of a shared moment that won't soon be forgotten.
For those who missed it, Bonne Foi 65 assures that more evenings of enchantment await-where food meets feeling, and melodies linger long after the final note fades.

'This Cap I Give To Very Few People': Shubman Gill Receives Heartwarming Gift From Sunil Gavaskar

India captain Shubman Gill received a special gift from 'Little Master' Sunil Gavaskar after he came close but stood too far from breaking his record for most runs by an Indian in a Test series. Shubman agonisingly fell 20 runs short of breaking Gavaskar's tally of 774 as he concluded the series with 754 runs to his name. With his robust technique, he looked poised for an extended stay on the case but was undone by a sharply nipping delivery from Gus Atkinson, punching his return ticket on 11(9). At the end of a throbbing contest on Day 3 of the fifth Test, Gavaskar met Gill, gifted a shirt with the SG initials and a special cap that he doesn't give to too many people. He hopes that after missing out on the elusive milestone by a whisker, he will strive for it in future assignments. "I have got a gift for you in anticipation of you going past (me). At least you got something to aim for in the next series. It is just a little gift. It is a shirt with SG initials, someone made it for me, I am giving this to you, but I don't know if it will fit you. This is a cap which I give to very few people with my signature. All the best," Gavaskar said after meeting Gill in a video posted by Sony Sports on X. India played a double bluff by setting up the field for a 'sweet chin music', but Siraj bowled a searing, angling yorker to rattle Zak Crawley's timber. Impressed by the brilliant piece of gambit, Gavaskar promised to wear his lucky jacket, hoping it would turn India's fortune. "That last over was fantastic. Sending a fielder over there, but then bowling the yorker. Tomorrow I am going to wear my lucky jacket, which I wore in Australia, the white one during the Gabba Test, on the last day," he concluded. In pursuit of a 374-run target, England opener Crawley and Ben Duckett raised a 50-run opening stand before the former departed on 14(36). As things stand, India is eight wickets shy of victory, while England needs 324 runs with two days left for play.
