It was created by architect Rowena Cade and her gardener, Billy Rawlings, in 1931.
Rowena Cade bought the land for £100 after moving to Cornwall after World War I.
She then became involved with the local theatre company and offered an incredible cliff garden location as their stage.
The Minack Theatre was built by hand using basic tools and cement.

And the very first production, which was The Tempest, took place in 1932.
In 1976, Rowena Cade gave the theatre to a charitable trust.
It's still open all year round, but with reduced winter hours, and performances run from Easter until the end of September.
The venue supports new and upcoming theatre groups hosting plays, musicals, opera, music and children's events.

The Times said: "Since the 1880s Newlyn has been known for its art scene, thanks to the quality of the Cornish light and Aegeanesque beaches."
They say it has a reputation for incredible seafood, beaches and its artistic history so we had a look for ourselves. And it's true, there's so much to see and do in Newlyn, including getting up close and personal with the stunning coastline.
The beaches are of course a big hit in the summer months. The Newlyn Tolcarne Beach, also called Bowjey Beach, is a pebble beach on the edge of Newlyn.
It's a great place to swim, but there are warnings to watch out for boat traffic as Newlyn is a busy harbour. Walking on the coastline you'll also hit Wherrytown Beach, a large pebble beach between Penzance and Newlyn.
The well-known town of Penzance is only one mile away and is home to a beach that is great for rockpooling and views of the tidal island, St Michael's Mount. For any film fans, the Newlyn Filmhouse is a good spot, the independent cinema is inside a converted Fish Cellar & Smokery first built in 1876.
On their website, the only listed rule is "no crunching or rustling!"

In rural Turkey, what was intended to be a Disney princess paradise of hundreds of turreted holiday properties was abandoned to the weather. Burj Al Babas is a collapsed mega development that now looks more like a haunting ghost town than a luxury getaway. Situated near the Black Sea, the settlement is packed with 587 miniature castles that were destined to become the next major tourist draw. Then financing vanished and the whitewashed settlement was abandoned completely. The properties were marketed for between £330,000 to £440,000 for buyers' own tiny palace. Sarot Group, the scheme's developer, envisaged a tribute to Europe's historic Royal dynasties when they conceived the venture, according to CNN Traveller. For the wealthy and sophisticated tired of Monaco and the French Riviera - this corner of heaven promised everything: Mediterranean weather above neo-Gothic rooftops gazing over idyllic Turkish woodlands, reports the Mirror. Nevertheless, after building began in 2014, with 2018 as the planned completion date, Sarot Group was compelled to file for bankruptcy. Residents were equally incensed after witnessing the appearance of the properties and the commercial methods of the developers. Regional media reported that many were annoyed the castles bore no resemblance to anything in the vicinity, especially the historic Ottoman-style mansions. A legal action was taken against the developers, accusing them of destroying trees and damaging the environment. The completion of the project seems highly unlikely as investors and buyers withdrew their funds from the £200million project in 2019. Despite the significant setback, Sarot Group remained optimistic about completing the scheme, according to a report in The New York Times. However, the arrival of the pandemic dealt another blow and the project was left utterly abandoned. The deserted town is filled with many villas that were started but not one was completed. Burj Al Babas now stands still, frozen in time with no signs of life. Burj Al Babas comprises more than 700 multi-story castles, half of which had already been sold by 2019. The contentious Gothic-inspired architectural features, including flying buttresses, pointed arches, and ribbed vaulting, are designed to mimic the castles dotting the roads just outside the Roman spa town of Mudurnu. The project's developers selected a vast valley at the foot of Turkey's northwestern mountains to attract Arabs from the Gulf. Each home offers stunning natural views. Moreover, the town is now strewn with discarded construction materials.

The castle grounds set the stage for Hogwarts in the first two films, and was notably the location where Harry had his first quidditch lesson. Today, Alnwick welcomes tourists from far and wide who are keen to immerse themselves in the wizarding world. Council reveals regeneration plans Now, Northumberland County Council plan to make improvements to the town in an exciting new regeneration plan. Last month, it was revealed that over £270,000 in funding had been approved to kick start a multi-million pound project. As part of the Borderlands Place Programme, plans have been revealed to build a new museum in Northumberland Hall. The council also revealed that this work could commence in a matter of months, subject to approval of other funding bids. The museum promises to boost tourism even further in an area that is already a popular hot spot. New Epic Universe theme park reveals fifth new land based on Harry Potter Beyond the town's ties to J K Rowling's famed wizarding world, Alnwick is also brimming with medieval history, reports The Northern Echo. Built more than 900 years ago, the castle remains the ancestral seat of the Dukes of Northumberland, with one of England's most powerful noble houses, The Percy Family, still calling it home. In addition to this, the town boasts many impressive landmarks like Bondgate Tower, Hotspur Gate, and St Michael's Church. Visitors can also explore one of Britain's largest second-hand bookshops, Barter Books, which is also famed for rediscovering the iconic "Keep calm and Carry On" WWII poster. Alnwick Garden is also home to Europe's largest treehouse restaurant. As well as welcoming a brand new museum, the plans also hope to develop a transport hub. With a further £90,000 approved for this, work could be well underway by early 2026. Both these projects, part of a bid totalling around £7.7million, have been well received by the community. At a community event held earlier this year, 84% of respondents backed the proposals. It comes on the back of the new 'Town Investment Plan' which was approved by the Borderlands Partnership following development locally by the Place Partnership Group. The Borderlands Place Programme includes up to £3m of Growth Deal and County Council combined investment Alnwick, and six other neighbouring towns. 'This is just the start for the Borderlands Place Programme with a range of new schemes in development across all seven towns in the programme we are expecting further projects for approval in Bedlington, Prudhoe and other towns later this year." While Alnwich County Councillor Martin Swinbank added: 'We have been pushing for improvements to the bus station for many years and I'm pleased to see this next step in securing new investment. 'The bus station is an important community facility and also the first view of Alnwick many visitors see as they step into the town." Fellow Alnwick County Councillor Gordon Castle said: 'Our tourism offer is an important component of the local economy and working together to bring the Northumberland Hall back into use, at the same time as bringing the Bailiffgate Museum into the heart Alnwick is a great solution." Jean Humphrys, Bailiffgate Museum & Gallery Chair of Trustees, added: 'This support is an important milestone for our innovative proposals to create a new cultural and creative hub in the town. 'We're working over the summer to secure backing for our exciting plans for this building to bring much needed investment into the town and a long-term home for the amazing story of Alnwick.' Earlier this month, Alnwick honoured its magical past with a screening of the franchise in the castle grounds.
