TwitchCon San Diego to Host Largest Women's Fortnite Tournament Ever With The Milk Cup 2025
Whether you're partial to Frenzy Farm, Anarchy Acres or Fatal Fields, there's plenty of milk to go around when it comes to Fortnite.
In fact, The Milk Cup 2025 LAN championship at TwitchCon San Diego on Oct. 18 will mark the largest women's Fortnite tournament ever — with a prize pool of $300,000 up for grabs. And that's no Inflate-a-Bull.
Gonna Need Milk and Twitch are partnering up to give 100 of the top female eSports athletes the chance to fight it out in duos. GNM is also set to power TwitchCon's LAN throughout the weekend with the entire event streaming live on the their Twitch channel, in addition to hosting interactive gaming experiences and giveaways.
'TwitchCon is where our community comes to life, and that includes brands who have a unique opportunity to build real, lasting connections with the people who shape culture on Twitch,' Rachel Delphin, Chief Marketing Officer at Twitch, said in a Wednesday statement. By showing up in ways that are meaningful to our streamers and fans, partners like Gonna Need Milk become part of the stories and moments that this community will remember for years to come.'
'We're thrilled to partner with Twitch to bring The Milk Cup's much-anticipated LAN Finals to TwitchCon,' Jen Grubb, Senior Marketing Manager at MilkPEP, added. 'This partnership allows us to continue providing never-before-seen opportunities in women's esports, highlight emerging talent, and connect directly with those shaping the future of competitive gaming, all while showing gamers how milk's nutrients can help fuel your performance.'
While not an official Epic-sponsored event, The Milk Cup 2025 was developed in collaboration with Fortnite streamer ThePeachCobbler and Women of the eRena (WOTE), and produced by Raidiant's all-women production team.
'We want to get more women to this stage, but it can be intimidating,' Heather Garozzo — aka sapphiRe, the first woman to ever be inducted into the eSports Hall of Fame — told TheWrap at last month's Fortnite Championship Series Pro-Am. 'With Milk Cup Academy, it's a great starting point. We're going to pair you with different content creators, pro players and broadcast talent who will share tips and tricks and advice so you can feel more confident.'
'We make it super accessible for women to get started, feel welcomed, feel like they're in a safe environment,' she continued. 'Hopefully they can one day play here in the big pro leagues — and some of them are, actually!'
The tournament itself was revealed Wednesday afternoon by Pro-Am winner AussieAntics and his Twitch community, who worked together to solve a puzzle.
TwitchCon San Diego 2025 will take place Oct. 17-19 at the San Diego Convention Center. And as always, don't forget to thank your bus driver.

The ‘Spider-Man 2' Extended Edition Is Finally Swinging Into Theaters
Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man trilogy is heading back into theaters once more, but this time things will look slightly different for the webslinger. For the first time, the home-release exclusive extended edition of Spider-Man 2 will be part of the theatrical release. Today Fathom Events announced that Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films will return to theaters for a limited time beginning September 26. All three movies will screen in 4K, but for the first time, the version of Spider-Man 2 hitting theaters is actually the 2007 extended cut of the film. Put out on DVD in 2007 in the run-up to Spider-Man 3's release, Spider-Man 2.1 features eight minutes of new footage integrated into the theatrical cut, extending multiple sequences in the film while also including a few brand-new scenes and alternate takes. Including, yes, that deleted scene of J. Jonah Jameson putting on the Spidey suit in his office to strike a few poses. The 2.1 cut has been available on home release ever since, including the Blu-ray releases of the trilogy, but the new theatrical run will mark the first time fans get to actually see it on the big screen. Maybe it'll make the wait for Brand New Day go a little quicker? Tickets for the Spider-Man trilogy are available starting July 25 through Fathom Events, with screenings of the trilogy taking place on September 26, 27, and 28, and with a follow-up run on October 3, 4, and 5. Stars, Jamie Benn agree on 1-year contract extension, keeping franchise icon in Dallas: Sources
At 35 years old, Jamie Benn isn't the player he once was. But in Dallas, he's every bit as important as he's ever been. So while the Stars have all sorts of salary-cap concerns that forced them to trade Mason Marchment to Seattle and even have them considering Jason Robertson's future, Benn's return to the team was never in doubt. Advertisement Benn, the Stars' captain and longest-tenured player, will return for his 17th season on a one-year, incentive-laden contract, per league sources. His base salary will be just $1 million but could be worth as much as $4 million if he hits all of his bonuses. 'You want to talk about immortal, statue-out-in-front-of-the-rink-type person and player and leader, that's Jamie Benn,' said Matt Duchene, who last week signed a four-year, $18 million deal to stay in Dallas. 'That's probably the best way to put it. … I think it'd be a crime if he's not a Dallas Star for life, and I'd be shocked if it went (differently). He bleeds green and he's going to go down as one of the greatest Dallas Stars to ever play for a long time. 'Hopefully he's able to continue his career, and he's still a great player, and he brings so much to the table for us. More than people would know. More than I knew before I got here. When I got here, you see it from a different lens. I've been extremely impressed and blown away by what he brings.' Benn had 16 goals and 33 assists in 80 games this past season, his lowest career goal total in a full season. He struggled mightily in the postseason, posting just one goal and two assists in 18 games as the Stars fell short in the Western Conference final for the third straight season. He won the scoring title a decade earlier with 87 points, has 399 goals and 956 points in his career, and just two years ago had a renaissance season with 33 goals and 45 assists in 82 games. Despite his age and heavy style of play, he's missed just two games in the past four seasons. After Dallas' season ended in Game 5, Benn was short and to the point about his future. Had he thought about his future? 'No.' Did he want to be a Dallas Star? 'Yep.' Did he feel good about the chances of that happening? 'Yep.' Advertisement A couple of days later, on locker-cleanout day, Benn was a little more loquacious about his future. 'I don't see myself going anywhere else,' he told reporters in Dallas. 'This is all I know, so hopefully we can get something figured out.' Stars general manager Jim Nill never sweated Benn's future, either, thanks largely to the incentive-laden structure of over-35 contracts. 'He wants to be here,' Nill said in May. 'And with him turning 35, we have different ways to attack it.' Dallas has virtually no cap space left, even after jettisoning Marchment. But Nill still could be a major player in free agency if he gets aggressive, as he tries to shake up a perennial contender that seems to have hit its ceiling in the conference final.
