Nobody's Child heads north with Leeds opening
Fashion brand Nobody's Child continues growing its wider store portfolio, this time heading north to open a 1,400 sq ft standalone store in Victoria Leeds/Victoria Gate.
The Yorkshire store becomes the fashion brand's third location outside of London and will stock its full apparel collection alongside jewellery, accessories, fragrance and the brand's debut footwear range.
Designed as a 'timeless and inviting space' the store will feature handmade joinery alongside vintage and reclaimed furniture selected by the NC team. Local Leeds suppliers have also been sourced to design bespoke signage.
Jody Plows, CEO of Nobody's Child, said: 'Expanding our physical presence is part of our key growth strategy, allowing customers to experience our brand and collections in person.'
Rachel Bradburn, Head of Leasing at centre operator Redical, added: 'Nobody's Child choosing Victoria Leeds for its Northern debut is a huge testament to the destination's reputation as the go-to spot for premium brands looking to make their mark beyond London.
'[The brand] have been making waves across the industry – it was only a matter of time before they landed here.'
The Leeds opening adds to Nobody's Child's growing retail presence, joining standalone stores in London's Covent Garden, Carnaby Street, and Spitalfields, plus St Albans and Brighton.

80s Casual Classics to make southern debut at Liberty Romford this summer
Retro clothing retailer 80s Casual Classics is to open at the Redical-operated Liberty Romford shopping centre this summer, becoming its first store in the South of England. Marking the brand's fifth physical location and 'contributing to the destination's ongoing retail transformation', the 2,340 sq ft new flagship store will showcase 70s-, 80s-, and 90s-inspired apparel from nostalgic heritage brands including Sergio Tacchini, Fila Vintage, Ellesse, Adidas Originals, Lacoste, Diadora, and Benetton. The retailer will also stock custom-made exclusives from third-party brands including modernised retro styles 'that can only be found at 80s Casual Classics locations'. Neil Primett, founder and managing director at 80s Casual Classics, said: "We have had huge success in the North [of England], and a large portion of our online sales comes from the South, especially in the Essex and London region, due to the prominence of the subculture we sit within. 'We have no doubt that The Liberty Romford is the right place for us.' Daniel Tucker, leasing manager at The Liberty Romford, added: '80s Casual Classics is unlike anything we have at The Liberty Romford, and as a result will help us diversify our mix even further. We are a destination that evolves with the needs of our community, and with the demand for nostalgic fashion growing, 80s Casual Classics will enrich our customer experience while also establishing a key point of difference.'

Nobody's Child digital chief exits for Dubai-based Squatwolf
Nobody's Child's e-commerce and digital director Chris Bishop has quit the fast-growing fashion retailer to take up the role of e-commerce director at Dubai-based sportswear company Squatwolf. Bishop vacated his position last month having been with Nobody's Child September 2022. In a LinkedIn post, he said: 'After three transformative growth years, it's time to close my chapter at NC. I trust I've demonstrated what can be achieved with a customer behaviour obsession and a relentless drive to improve and outperform. We've gone from a start-up who internally celebrated on Whatsapp when we saw someone wearing 'NC in the wild', to a brand besting all the retail benchmarks.' He also told Retail Technology Innovation Hub of his time at Nobody's Child: 'Highlights have included replatforming and redesigning the website, profitably acquiring hundreds of thousands of new customers and doubling their lifetime value, onboarding 50+ new partners, and helping to fit out a few physical stores. 'A true highlight has been building the e-commerce & Digital team from the ground up. I had the pleasure of recruiting each one of them, and it's been a privilege to mentor, challenge, and support their growth.' Before joining Nobody's Child he worked as an independent e-commerce and marketing consultant for six years, working with companies ranging from high growth start-ups to £100m turnover. Other positions included interim chief marketing officer at Sigma Sports and interim e-commerce director at fashion rental platform MyWardrobe HQ . In his new position, Bishop will work alongside Squatwolf founders Anam Khalid and Wajdan Gul on accelerating the growth of the gymwear brand which is already available in 120 countries. In 2023, the company raised $30m in a Series B funding round, which was being used to expand its omnichannel presence and develop its product lines.
