Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping "strongly condemned" Israeli aerial strikes on Iran, urging both parties to "end hostilities through diplomatic means".
"Parties to the conflict, especially Israel, should cease hostilities as soon as possible to prevent a cyclical escalation and resolutely avoid the spillover of the war," Xi said, reported news agency AFP citing Xinhua.
Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters that "Both sides adhere to identical approaches, strongly condemn Israel's actions."
Xi and Putin also acknowledged in the call that cessation of hostilities in West Asia was the "top priority".
"Promoting a ceasefire and cessation of hostilities is the top priority. Armed force is not the correct way to resolve international disputes," Xi said, according to Xinhua.
The talks between the two leaders come as the West Asian region continues to boil amid escalating kinetic actions between the Jewish state and Tehran.
In an out-of-proportion retaliation, an Iranian missile on Thursday struck the Soroka Hospital in southern Israel.

"Several hits were identified as a result of the missile barrage--one of them hitting the largest hospital in southern Israel. More details will follow," IDF said in a statement.
Soon after the attack, the Israeli defence minister issued a chilling remark against Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, vowing his elimination for the first time out in the open since the conflict.
"Khamenei openly declares that he wants Israel destroyed -- he personally gives the order to fire on hospitals.
He considers the destruction of the state of Israel to be a goal," Israeli defence minister Israel Katz told AFP in Holon near Tel Aviv.
"Such a man can no longer be allowed to exist," he added.
Israel earlier launched a deadly strike on Iran's Arak heavy water reactor, intensifying a conflict that has now raged for seven straight days.
Before the assault, Israel issued a severe warning via social media, posting satellite images with the targeted facility circled in red and urging civilians to flee the area, a clear message of what was to come.
The clash has spiralled into one of the most aggressive military face-offs between the two nations in recent history.
Iranian state media reported fresh missile barrages aimed at Tel Aviv, with Fars News Agency describing the rockets as "roaring over" the heart of Israel's commercial capital.
The toll on both sides has been devastating. Iranian strikes have killed at least 24 people in Israel and left hundreds injured, with several missiles slamming into residential buildings in central cities.
In response, Israeli forces have pounded key Iranian nuclear sites and military strongholds, reportedly inflicting hundreds of casualties and causing widespread destruction. The region now appears to be teetering on the edge of a much broader war.

Tulsi Gabbard, Pete Hegseth out: Meet Trump's 'Tier One' group deciding on Iran
Nobody is discussing anything on Iran with Pete Hegseth or Tulsi Gabbard, claimed reports. As President Donald Trump weighs in on the Middle East crisis, dropping all indications that he may strike Iran, reports claimed that he is relying on a high-profile group of Cabinet picks and not those who are supposed to be advising him by the virtue of their posts: Defense secretary Pete Hegseth and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard . Instead, Trump is leaning more on Vice President JD Vance, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA Director John Ratcliffe. This group of four is also being called the "Tier One Group". Another crucial member is Army Gen Michael Erik Kurilla, commander of U.S. Central Command, which has operational authority for the Middle East. Why Hegseth, Tulsi Gabbard sidelined? 'Experience over star power' Pete Hegseth served in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba but he is more of an ex-Fox star. Tulsi Gabbard is a war veteran but she has apparently upset Trump by issuing a video where she spoke against fresh conflicts and said "political elite warmongers" are carelessly fomenting fear and tensions between nuclear powers. The Washington Post reported that Trump even confronted Gabbard at a White House meeting while others were present and said: "I saw the video, and I didn't like it." In March, Gabbard testified that US intelligence agencies asserted that Iran has not started a nuclear weapons program. Trump recently shot down the remark and said he doesn't care what Tulsi Gabbard said. Trump said he thinks Iran is very close to having one nuclear program. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like [Click Here] - 2025 Top Trending Search - Local network access Esseps Learn More Undo Both Hegseth and Gabbard camps downplayed their diminishing importance. Gabbard said she and the president were on the same page. But Gabbard was not there when Trump held a meeting on June 8 at Camp David presidential retreat. Insiders believe Trump is prioritizing experience over star power. Pentagon chief spokesman Sean Parnell said it is not true that Hegseth had been sidelined. 'The Secretary is speaking with the President multiple times a day each day and has been with the President in the Situation Room this week,' Parnell said in a statement. 'Secretary Hegseth is providing the leadership the Department of Defense and our Armed Forces need, and he will continue to work diligently in support of President Trump 's peace through strength agenda.'

‘US helping a lot': Israel PM Netanyahu says Iranian regime change ‘not a goal' but could be a…
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday that the change or fall of the Iranian regime was not a goal but could be a result. "The matter of changing the regime or the fall of this regime is first and foremost a matter for the Iranian people. There is no substitute for this. And that's why I didn't present it as a goal. It could be a result, but it's not a stated or formal goal that we have," Netanyahu told Israeli public broadcaster Kan. Israel has destroyed more than half of Iran's missile launchers: Netanyahu The Israeli PM has posted a video of himself outside Beersheba's Soroka Medical Center, which suffered damage from an Iranian missile attack today. In it, he claims the Israeli military 'accurately hit nuclear targets and missile targets, and they [Iran] hit a hospital, where people can't even get up and run away'. 'That's the whole difference in a democracy that acts according to the law to save itself from these murderers and against these murderers who want to destroy each and every one of us'. Israel has regularly attacked hospitals in its war on Gaza, with officials in the besieged enclave stating that Israel has bombed and burned at least 36 hospitals across the Gaza Strip since the war began in October 2023. On a visit to the Soroka Medical Center in the city of Beer Sheva, which was damaged in Iranian strikes, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the United States is 'already helping a lot' in his country's conflict with Iran. 'They're participating in the protection of the skies over Israel and its cities,' Netanyahu told CNN among a group of reporters. 'I think it's a remarkable cooperation.' The prime minister also said that he is being asked whether Israel is targeting the downfall of the Iranian regime. 'That may be the result,' he said. 'But it's up to the Iranian people to rise for their freedom. Freedom is never cheap.' 'We may create conditions that may help them do it,' Netanyahu said. The US president has pushed back on a Wall Street Journal report claiming he privately approved attack plans for Iran but delayed a final go-ahead in hopes Iran would abandon its nuclear programme. Writing on his Truth Social social media platform, Trump said, 'The Wall Street Journal has No Idea what my thoughts are concerning Iran!' As of yesterday, Trump said he was still unsure about authorising a strike. 'We'll see what happens. I've been asked about it by everybody, but I haven't made a decision,' he told reporters.

TikTok Up And Running In US For 90 More Days As Donald Trump Extends Sale Deadline
Donald Trump signed an executive order granting a third extension for the Chinese company to sell its platform. US President Donald Trump signed an executive order granting Chinese tech giant ByteDance an additional 90 days to sell TikTok to an American owner, extending the deadline to September 17, 2025. The move marks the third such extension for the app. 'I've just signed the Executive Order extending the Deadline for the TikTok closing for 90 days (September 17, 2025). Thank you for your attention to this matter!" Donald Trump posted on Truth Social. Earlier the US President said he believed Chinese President Xi Jinping would be open to approving a deal that allows the short-form video app to continue operating in the United States. 'I think he'll go along with it," Donald Trump said, suggesting a final agreement may require sign-off from Beijing, where TikTok's parent company ByteDance is headquartered. What White House Has Said On TikTok Ban? The White House emphasized that the extension is aimed at avoiding service disruption for TikTok's roughly 170 million US users. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said, 'President Trump does not want TikTok to go dark. This extension will last 90 days, which the administration will spend working to ensure this deal is closed so that the American people can continue to use TikTok with the assurance that their data is safe and secure." Donald Trump vs TikTok TikTok has consistently denied posing any security risk to the United States, asserting that American user data is not stored in China. After the initial ban, Donald Trump issued a 75-day deadline for TikTok's parent company ByteDance to find an American buyer, which expired on April 5. In the days leading up to the deadline, several suitors emerged including Amazon, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, AI startup Perplexity AI and Steven Mnuchin. As no deal was finalized, Donald Trump granted another 90-day extension. About the Author Mallika Soni First Published: June 19, 2025, 21:31 IST
