People urged to cooperate to eradicate child labour
Vijayawada: NTR district Collector Dr G Lakshmisha stated that it is everyone's responsibility to eradicate child labour. On Friday, he unveiled a wall poster designed for the eradication of child labour, under the auspices of Labor, Women and Child Welfare Department, and Child Rights Advocacy Foundation (CRAF).
Speaking at the District Task Force Committee meeting held on this occasion, the Collector said that as part of the Anti-Child Labour Month, officials from the Labour, Police, voluntary organisations, and the Revenue department should conduct special drive inspections to identify child labourers until June 30.
He emphasised that employing children less than 14 years of age and adolescents between 14 and 18 years in hazardous work is a crime, according to the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act. He urged for public awareness campaigns about child laws. Collector Lakshmisha stated that if anyone identifies children or adolescents working as child labourers, they should inform the toll-free numbers: 100, 1098, and 1800 102 7222.
The wall poster unveiling event was attended by Deputy Labour Commissioner Ch Asharani, ICDS PD D Srilakshmi, District Child Protection Officer M Rajeshwara Rao, Dr B Keerthi, secretary of Vasavya Mahila Mandali, CRAF representative Prabhakar, Forum for Child Rights member A Ramesh, and Assistant Labour Officers.

The Commission has now recommended the state government revoke the special immunity granted to CID Crime regarding cyber fraud cases—delivering a major win for transparency and the rights of hundreds of duped citizens. The exemption, in effect since October 25, 2005, under a Home Department notification, placed CID Crime beyond the purview of the Right to Information Act for crime-related investigations. However, the recent judgment has pierced this shield in the context of cybercrime, which the Commission argued is no longer a conventional 'sensitive crime' but a rapidly escalating public menace impacting citizens daily. The ruling stemmed from a plea by Rakesh Kumar Prajapati, a Gandhinagar resident who lost Rs 4.5 lakh to cyber fraud. After filing a complaint with the Cyber Crime Cell, Prajapati sought the FIR copy and related documents under the RTI Act. CID Crime rejected his request, citing the 2005 exemption. Unwilling to accept silence in the face of theft, Prajapati took the matter to the State Information Commission.

Bodies of Naxal commanders killed in recent Chhattisgarh encounters recovered
Security forces have recovered the bodies of seven Naxals eliminiated during the ongoing anti-Naxal crackdown in the National Park area of Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district in separate operations carried out over the last three days, officials said on bodies were recovered by the security forces after anti-Naxal encounters that took place in the National Park area on Thursday, Friday and today. 5 more Maoist bodies found in Bijapur's Indravati Park amid ongoing operation
Raipur: At least five more bodies of suspected Maoists, including those of two women, were recovered from the forests of Indravati National Park in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Saturday morning, amid an ongoing anti-Maoist operation. This comes after the security forces killed senior leader of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) and central committee member Sudhakar in an encounter in the forests of Bijapur, and top Maoist leader Bhaskar in the Indravati National Park area in Bijapur on Thursday. 'A total of seven Maoists, including two senior leaders — Central Committee member Sudhakar alias Gautam and Telangana State Committee member Mailarapu Adelu alias Bhaskar — have been killed during a major three-day-long anti-Naxal operation,' a statement issued by the police on Saturday said. The security forces have reportedly intensified their combing and area domination operations from Thursday onwards in key Maoist stronghold areas bordering Telangana. 'On Friday, security personnel recovered the body of Sudhakar, a senior Central Committee member and a top-ranking ideologue of the CPI (Maoist). Meanwhile, civil rights activists and the Telangana civil rights association on Saturday alleged that Chhattisgarh police had taken Maoist leaders into custody in Bijapur and were killing them one by one in staged encounters. Police, however, dismissed the allegations, stating that all actions were lawful and carried out in strict accordance with operational protocols.
