Raveena Tandon Blames Local Bodies For Rise In Stray Dog Population Amid Supreme Court Verdict

Raveena Tandon reacts to SC's stray dog relocation order, blaming poor sterilisation and vaccination drives by local bodies for the rising stray population. The Supreme Court gave a verdict on the relocation of strays to shelters in Delhi-NCR, and this has sparked a debate. Now, Raveena Tandon, who is a pet lover and always speaks up for them whenever necessary, has spoken about the Supreme Court's decision. While speaking about the increased population of indies on the streets, she blamed the local bodies. In conversation with Hindustan Times, the actress shared, 'I feel where the population of indies has increased, it is honestly not these poor dogs to be blamed. It means the vaccination and sterilisation drives aren't done by local bodies." 'If that was a success, or the money and infrastructure was set properly, I don't think we would have reached this point. Local bodies are responsible for the strays in their communities, and sterilisation is the need of the hour," the actress added. The Supreme Court on Monday ordered that all stray dogs in Delhi and the NCR must be caught within eight weeks and kept in special shelters that civic authorities will set up. The court made it clear that once a dog is caught, it will not be released back onto the streets. A bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and R Mahadevan gave these directions while hearing a case taken up on its own about the rising number of stray dog attacks. The judges also said that anyone who tries to stop the authorities from carrying out the capture will face contempt of court action. The court further ordered that a helpline must be started in Delhi-NCR to report dog bite cases. If a complaint is made, the dog involved must be caught within four hours. Raveena Tandon's Professional Front The actress made a comeback to the silver screen with the thriller Maatr. She later appeared in the web show Aranyak, where she played the role of Kasturi Dogra, an investigating officer from Himachal Pradesh. She also starred in K.G.F: Chapter 2 and the Sanjay Dutt starrer Ghudchadi. Most recently, she has been part of projects like Patna Shuklla, Karmma Calling, and Inn Galiyon Mein. Looking ahead, Raveena is all set to star in Suriya's next tentative title, an action drama film. Written and directed by Venky Atluri, the film stars Suriya and Mamitha Baiju in lead roles. Ashish Chanchalani says police approached him first after India's Got Latent row as Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija were unreachable: 'Ranveer Allahbadia kuch bhi bol deta hai...'

Ashish Chanchalani recently recounted the aftermath of the 'India's Got Latent' controversy, revealing he was the first panelist approached by police. He explained Samay Raina was in Vancouver, Apoorva Mukhija was unreachable, and Ranveer Allahbadia had disappeared. Ashish expressed frustration at the seriousness of the situation, clarifying that even his laughter was scrutinized and had to be explained to authorities. Ashish Chanchalani recently opened up about the chaos that followed the India's Got Latent controversy, revealing how the police came knocking on his door first—while fellow panelists Samay Raina and Apoorva Mukhija remained out of reach. Chaotic two months after the controversy Speaking to Faridoon Shahryar about that difficult time, Ashish said that those two months were chaotic for everyone involved in the show. He explained that Samay was in Vancouver, Apoorva couldn't be found and was scared, and Ranveer Allahbadia had disappeared. Since Ashish was the only one in Bandra and the police knew where he lived, they came to him first, and he had to give his statement to the police. Frustration over serious situation He further shared his frustration about how serious the situation was. He said that while many saw it as just clickbait or a reel, facing the police and government officials was very serious. When asked why he was questioned even though he didn't say anything controversial, he explained that people might think he wasn't involved, but sitting in front of the police and knowing everything you say is recorded makes you realize how careful you must be. He added that he didn't say much on the show—only laughed once—but even that was noted. Ashish also revealed that the authorities carefully examined every reaction, including his laughter, which he had to explain in detail. He said he had to tell them that he was laughing because of some inside jokes with Samay and at Ranveer's foolishness—not at the inappropriate comment Ranveer made. Ashish defends Ranveer Allahbadia Speaking about Ranveer's controversial remark, Ashish said he has known Ranveer for seven years and that Ranveer often speaks jokingly. He added that while the situation was tough for him, it was even harder for Samay, Apoorva, and the others involved. After the controversy, all episodes of India's Got Latent were taken down from YouTube. The Supreme Court initially banned Allahbadia from posting on social media but later lifted the ban.
