Brigitte Macron: Who is the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron?
Dressed in a white, button-up dress, Brigitte was met at RAF Northolt by the Prince and Princess of Wales before driving to Windsor to meet King Charles and Queen Camilla.
She captured headlines across the globe in May after she appeared to push the French President in the face as the couple arrived in Vietnam for the start of a Southeast Asia tour.
In a now-viral video, Brigitte appeared to shove her husband, before he descended from the presidential plane.
She remained hidden behind the plane's fuselage, blocking any view of her body language. The couple then descended the steps together.
An Elysee official played down the moment, denying it showed an argument between the couple: "It was a moment when the president and his wife were relaxing one last time before the start of the trip by having a laugh."
As she arrives in the UK, The Independent has taken a closer look at Brigitte Macron's life.
She met her now-husband when he was a student at Le Providence, a Catholic school in France, where she worked as a drama teacher. She was 39 at the time they first met and he was 15.
Brigitte was married to banker André-Louis Auzière, and the couple have three children, Sébastien, Laurence and Tiphaine.
The now French President began an affair with Brigitte, who is 24 years his senior, when he was 16. His parents had believed their son was dating the teacher's daughter, Laurence, until the truth was revealed through a family friend.
Shocked, the Macrons removed their son from the school, but he and Brigitte kept in touch while he was in college.
The pair eventually married in 2007 when he was 29 and she was 54.
Becoming a stepfather to her three adult children, he told them at the wedding reception: 'Thanks for accepting us, a not-quite-normal couple.'
The French President previously called his wife his 'anchor', saying she kept him focused in his job.
In an interview with CNN, Mr Macron said: 'For me, it's very important for my personal balance to have somebody at home telling you the truth every day.
'Access to truth is one of the main challenges. Somebody with her deep convictions and knowing you for what you are and loving you for what you are, not for what you represent or your role or your honours. That is very important to me.'
In an interview with Elle magazine, Brigitte said she and her husband are 'just like any other couple'.
She said: 'We agree, we disagree. We argue, we stop arguing. It's very fluid.'

The record's opening track, 'Crying in the Night', was made available to stream on Wednesday. 'Buckingham Nicks' was originally released in 1973. It was a commercial failure but it caught the attention of Mick Fleetwood, who invited Buckingham to join Fleetwood Mac. The American singer insisted that Nicks join too. The two, then a couple, became the central faces, voices and songwriters of the group for the four decades that followed. Their tumultuous relationship inspired several of the band's most famous songs, including on the 1977 hit album 'Rumours.' 'Buckingham Nicks' reached a cult classic status among Fleetwood Mac fans but became a rare sight in record stores. It was last issued on vinyl in 1981 and has remained absent from streaming platforms. The duo foreshadowed the announcement in a series of Instagram posts last week. Nicks has said that without the late singer Christine McVie, who died on 30 November 2022 aged 79, 'there's no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac back together.' Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham had long wanted to reedit their debut work. In 2011, Buckingham told Uncut that he and Nicks had 'every intention of putting that album back out.' The reissued version of 'Buckingham Nicks' features the same album cover as the original, a photograph of the then-couple posing nude. Buckingham and Nicks were in their early to mid-20s during the making of their album. 'It stands up in a way you hope it would, by these two kids who were pretty young to be doing that work', Buckingham said in the re-release's liner notes.. Paul Mario Day, Iron Maiden's original lead singer, has died at age 69 following a reported battle with cancer. The heavy metal vocalist passed away peacefully at his home in Australia on Tuesday, July 29. Day made rock history when he became Iron Maiden's first vocalist in December 1975 at just 19 years old. Though his time with the legendary band was brief, lasting less than a year until October 1976 when he was replaced by Dennis Wilcock, Day's contribution to the early formation of one of metal's most influential acts cannot be understated. He performed at Iron Maiden's very first concert on May 1, 1976, at St. Nicholas Hall in Poplar, London — an event that marked the birth of a legendary band. "We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the great More vocalist Paul Mario Day," his former band More wrote in a Facebook statement. "Paul was a huge part of the NWOBHM from his time in an early version of Iron Maiden, and of course his fantastic performance on the 'Warhead' album." Following his departure from Iron Maiden, Day continued to make his mark on the British heavy metal scene. In 1980, he formed the band More, which released their debut album Warhead in 1981. "He was a well-loved figure in British rock music and played many memorable shows, not least the legendary 1981 Monsters of Rock show at Castle Donington with AC/DC, Whitesnake/David Coverdale, as well as tours with Iron Maiden, Def Leppard and many other legendary artists," More added. Day's career trajectory took him through several notable bands that defined the era. After leaving More before their second album, he briefly fronted Wildfire from 1983 to 1984.
