
Oman's Dhahirah signs pact for RO5mn public park in Ibri
Construction of the Ibri Public Park is expected to take 20 months. The initiative forms part of the government's wider efforts to enhance urban living and develop sustainable civic infrastructure.
Designed to serve as a recreational and social space, the park will include a lake, decorative fountains, landscaped gardens, and modern restroom facilities. It aims to promote physical activity and community engagement through wellness trails, open spaces, and dedicated areas for cultural and seasonal events.
Commercial areas within the park will house restaurants and retail outlets, while an open-air theatre is planned for cultural programmes. Other features include administrative and service buildings, prayer areas, and children's play zones.
Officials expect the project to support small and medium enterprises, create jobs, and attract investment, in line with national efforts to promote sustainable urban development.
'This project supports the government's strategic direction towards humanising cities and creating a sustainable urban environment that enhances social interaction and economic development,' said Najib bin Ali al Rawas, Governor of Dhahirah.
The initiative reflects the increasing role of public-private partnerships in Oman.

Dhahirah signs RO1mn infrastructure deals to boost services
Ibri – Dhahirah has signed several agreements with private sector companies to implement service and development projects worth more than RO1mn. The move is part of ongoing efforts to upgrade infrastructure and improve essential services in wilayats across the governorate. The agreements were signed last week by Najib bin Ali al Rawas, Governor of Dhahirah, and representatives of companies tasked with carrying out the projects. Rawas stated that the projects are guided by a prioritised plan focused on actual needs for road and lighting upgrades in residential, commercial and industrial areas aligned with available resources. He noted that road and lighting projects play a vital role in supporting municipal development and contribute to building a safe and integrated urban environment for both residents and visitors. Among the projects are maintenance works for internal roads in the wilayats of Ibri, Dhank and Yanqul. These include re-planning and redesigning roads and speed breakers, installing new traffic calming measures, placing road signs and resurfacing roads. The aim is to improve infrastructure in populated areas, increase road efficiency, and enhance both traffic safety and visual appeal. Another agreement involves a lighting project for the Kabara-Wadi al Ain road in Ibri. It includes the supply and installation of 178 lighting poles with the goal of improving nighttime safety and visibility for road users.

Al Mudhaibi Industrial City attracts RO5.75mn in new investments
Muscat – Al Mudhaibi Industrial City, operated by Public Establishment for Industrial Estates – Madayn, signed two investment agreements on Wednesday for the establishment of six new factories. The deals are valued at RO5.75mn and will cover more than 21,000sqm. The signing took place in the presence of Mahmoud bin Yahya al Dhuhli, Governor of North Sharqiyah, and Dawood bin Salim al Hadabi, CEO of Madayn, alongside officials from both public and private sector entities. The first agreement, signed with Global Prime Matter SPC, involves setting up four factories producing electrical materials, electronics, home furniture and cold storage supplies. The total investment for this project is RO5mn with operations to be based on a 14,538sqm plot. The second agreement, signed with Middle East Livestock Company, includes an automated poultry slaughterhouse and a disinfectants production factory. This project spread over 7,000sqm will see investment of over RO750,000. Said bin Khalfan al Shabibi, Acting Director General of Al Mudhaibi Industrial City, said the city attracted five industrial projects in the last quarter of 2024, worth a combined RO5.8mn. These agreements followed an investment call in October 2024 raising total investment in the city to RO11.6mn across 75,000sqm. He added that the tender for Phase 1 development of the city is expected to be awarded early next quarter. This phase will include infrastructure works such as internal roads, perimeter fencing, gate facilities, construction of offices and facility buildings, and utility networks for electricity, water, sewage and Internet. It will include plans for Madayn's Entrepreneurial and Agricultural Complexes. Al Mudhaibi Industrial City spans 9mn sqm, with Phase 1 covering around 1.5mn sqm. Strategically located near the main highway linking Special Economic Zone at Duqm with key ports and border points, the city is part of a national strategy to drive economic growth in North Sharqiyah. The industrial city is aligned with Madayn Vision 2040 and Oman Vision 2040, which aim to develop integrated industrial cities in collaboration with the private Correspondent

Oman, Turkey announce RO5mn venture to boost marine industry
Muscat – Musandam International Investment Company, in partnership with Turkish investors, has signed binding commercial terms and a shareholders' agreement to establish the Musandam Drydock and Marine Industries Company. The venture, based in Musandam governorate, will see an initial investment of over RO5mn in its first phase. The signing ceremony was attended by H E Dr Saud bin Hamoud al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, and Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam. The company will offer a range of marine services including construction and maintenance of fish farming cages, coastal and commercial fishing vessels, marine tugs, service vessels, and transport vessels up to 35 metres in length. The facility is intended to cater to Oman's domestic market as well as regional demand. The project aims to enhance industrial integration in the marine and fisheries sector, supporting national goals for food security and sustainable economic growth. It forms part of Musandam International Investment Company's wider strategy to build an integrated local ecosystem and promote development in Musandam, aligned with Oman Vision 2040.
