Jesy Nelson says she could not ‘enjoy' her pregnancy due to health complications

BreakingNews.ie7 days ago
Former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has said she could not 'enjoy' her pregnancy due to a string of health complications.
The 34-year-old singer gave birth birth to twins Ocean Jade and Story Monroe in May, after documenting pregnancy complications on her social media including twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS).

According to the NHS, TTTS affects 10% to 15% of identical twins who share a placenta and 'can have serious consequences'.
Speaking on ITV's This Morning, Nelson said: 'I couldn't believe the percentages and what could potentially happen to them.
'I almost felt like, from that point, I couldn't really enjoy my pregnancy because I was just constantly worried that something was going to happen.
'I actually had a threatened miscarriage quite early on as well and from then I was like, I don't even want to announce it (the pregnancy).

'When I think back to it now it makes me feel so sad because its like, when you're pregnant, that should be like the happiest time of your life.'
TTTS is caused by abnormal connecting blood vessels in the placenta which leads to an imbalanced blood flow from one twin to the other, leaving one with a greater blood volume than the other.
One treatment involves using a laser to burn away the blood vessels in the placenta that are causing the unequal flow.
Nelson said she was scanned weekly and monitored closely, but within a matter of days her symptoms had changed drastically and she had to undergo the emergency procedure.

She said: 'There were symptoms to look out for, it was like, if your belly gets really tight, like a drum, if you're struggling with your breathing.
'And two days after my scan, we'd gone to the park, and I couldn't even walk because I was just so out of breath. But it's so hard when you're pregnant with twins as well, because what is normal and what's not?
'I was just like, well, I've got twins, of course I'm going to be out of breath and of course my belly is going to be really tough, I am growing two humans.
'And then it was thanks to Zion, actually, that I said to him, 'Can you feel my belly? Because I've actually got so used to feeling like this, I don't know what's normal any more'.'

The twins' father, musician Zion Foster, said: 'It felt like overnight we literally went from pre-stage to like, you have to have the procedure now. And that procedure is not even guaranteed to work. And I think that was another thing that was terrifying.'
After spending more than 10 weeks in hospital after the procedure, Nelson gave birth to the twins 31 weeks and five days early on May 15.
The singer is best known as a former member of pop group Little Mix, rising to fame after winning The X Factor in 2011.
The group, which included Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall, were behind chart-topping singles including Cannonball, Shout Out To My Ex and Wings.

Nelson left the band in December 2020 and has since released two songs as a solo artist – Boyz, which featured US rapper Nicki Minaj, in 2021 and the Bad Thing in 2023.
She will feature in a new Prime Video docuseries, Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix, which will follow her through her pregnancy and take a closer look at her decision to leave the girl group.

Clarkson's Farm fans devastated as Kaleb Cooper shares 'soul destroying' news

Kaleb Cooper has taken to social media to share devastating news Kaleb Cooper, the 27-year-old farming sensation, has taken to Instagram with a heavy heart to reveal that thieves have made off with his farm machinery. ‌ In a brazen overnight heist, culprits swiped one of his tractors and a post knocker, essential for driving fence posts into the ground. ‌ A gutted Kaleb posted this morning: "My post knocker was stolen last night, as well as the John Deere tractor. Can we please make this as hot as possible? What is going on with England at the moment?" ‌ The theft occurred on Fulmer Lane, prompting Kaleb to use his social media clout to spread the word and enlist public help, sharing contact details for any sightings of the stolen kit. His online community rallied in the comments, extending their support to the TV star. ‌ One sympathiser wrote: "Sorry to hear that mate. A friend of mine who owns a garden centre had their digger nicked last night, and another friend had their two 16 ft trailers nicked the week before. I saw two different companies had vans done over last week, totalling something like £50k worth of tools. It's soul-destroying!" Another expressed shock: "The mankiller 9000? ! Jesus, I hope they get caught. Stealing from farmers is such a wildly despicable move," reports the Express. Someone else commented, echoing the sentiment of hope: "I really hope that everything will be found." ‌ Yet another added, "I really hope that everything will be found and the thieves will be brought to justice!" Puzzled by the audacity of the crime, one person asked, "How does one take something so big and no one notices?" ‌ One irate fan vented: "Who the f**k would steal a tractor from a world-famous farm... The attention alone makes it a case for the Police to investigate fully and follow up on, lest they be eviscerated on a show with global reach." This distressing revelation follows Kaleb's recent announcement about expecting his third child in just a month's time. Kaleb initially announced his pregnancy on This Morning in May, receiving warm wishes from hosts Cat Deely and Ben Shephard. During the live chat, Kaleb humorously remarked: "The third child is due in August, so I think I may be the most fertile man in Chipping Norton."

Lorraine overtakes This Morning in ITV ratings just months before show is ravaged by cuts as part of daytime telly bloodbath

Just as Lorraine Kelly 's beloved daytime show is about to be hit by savage cuts, her ratings have shot through the roof. Currently being presented by Christine Lampard, 46, during the holidays, the ITV show, which will soon be cut right down to half the amount of hours on air, has overtaken This Morning. This week, Lorraine's programme has been attracting around 260,000 daily viewers, while This Morning, which has been presented by Rochelle Humes and Dermot O'Leary, has been attracting around 200,000 viewers. Similarly last week, numbers for Lorraine averaged at 230,000, whereas This Morning had just 190,000. The new numbers come as bosses announced a major shakeup to their offering of shows, with GMB, Lorraine and This Morning booted from their existing studios next year. Lorraine and Loose Women face the brunt of the cuts, with GMB's programme to be merged with ITN, who produce ITV News. Meanwhile, Dermot O'Leary and Rochelle Humes (pictured) have taken over presenting duties for This Morning, standing in for Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard From January 2026, Good Morning Britain (GMB) will be extended by half an hour to fill the gap, running from 6am to 9:30am daily. Lorraine, which currently runs for almost the entire year, will also only air for 30 weeks out of 52. Loose Women will remain in its current slot - 12:30pm to 1:30pm daily - but again, will be cut to 30 weeks of the year. This Morning, hosted by Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, is to remain in its 10am to 12:30pm slot on weekdays across the year. Susanna Reid, 54, who has hosted Good Morning Britain since its launch in 2014, will remain one of the show's main presenters. Sources say Richard Madeley, 69, and Ed Balls, 58, will stay hosting alongside Ms Reid, whilst Charlotte Hawkins, 50, will also stay along with Ranvir Singh, 47. However, it's understood there will be limited shows for Adil Ray, 51. Reports suggest ITV's daytime staff currently amount to about 450 employees in total, however up to 220 jobs are said to be at risk. Many viewers last week claimed to be 'switching off' from Lorraine – branding her 'cringey'. One episode saw her discussing Love Island to talk about a segment on the dangers online beauty filters. Another part of the show recently saw her interviewing UK rapper AJ Tracey. 'Lorraine is so cringey had to turn it off #lorraine,' one viewer commented on X, formerly known as Twitter. Another chimed in: 'This interview is just [vomit emoji] get rid of her ffs!' While others said: '#lorraine Kelly's days are numbered total fraudster.' During the holiday period, Christine Lampard stands in for Lorriane. Meanwhile Dermot, 52, and Rochelle, 36, stand in for Cat Deeley, 48, and Ben Shephard, 50. The new ratings come as it was revealed Lorraine Kelly has reportedly signed a major deal with ITV rival Channel 4 for a huge budget travel series. The announcement came as the year-round hour-long show was reduced to just 30 weeks of 30-minute slots from next year. MailOnline previously revealed Lorraine was given the chance by ITV bosses to merge her daytime show with GMB to present the last 30 minutes of their broadcast, but she declined. Last month, she was pulled into a meeting prior to the channel's budget cuts announcement where she was offered the new proposal, which was considered an 'easy fix' after the same format was adopted during the pandemic. Sources have revealed that Lorraine was 'insulted' by the suggestion and told bigwigs it wasn't a possibility, resulting in the reduced runtime of her show from an hour to 30 minutes. MailOnline understood that Lorraine, who has presented her show for the past 14 years, was prepared to 'walk away' but agreed to continue hosting the series until the end of 2026. The star is predicted to quit for good next year after a new role titled 'Head of Lorraine' was created to oversee the changes, but the contract is only for a 12-month period. Last month, ITV confirmed that ITN is taking over the output of Good Morning Britain while Lorraine and Loose Women will only air 30 weeks per year and are moving from Television Centre to a central London studio.

Cat Deeley's forgotten first boyfriend she was rumoured to have secretly married

Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty have split after 19 years together, but Cat was previously in a relationship with a PR expert Mark Whelan and was even linked to Leonardo DiCaprio TV stars Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty have shocked fans by announcing their split after more than a decade of marriage. ‌ The couple met while hosting BBC 's Fame Academy together in 2002, but only made their first public appearance as a couple nine years later in 2011. They wed a year later in September 2012 at a ceremony in Rome and have two children together ‌ Before Patrick came on the scene, This Morning star Cat was in a long-term relationship with public relations expert Mark Whelan. There were even rumours that the pair had tied the knot - but Cat's reps denied these claims. Sadly, things didn't work out and they parted ways in 2006. Cat's latest break-up comes after Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones' sad split - and now he's joined a notorious dating app on a lads' holiday. ‌ Speaking about her then-partner, Cat said Mark "used to be a bad boy, but these days is a lot more mellow." In a previous interview, she said: "He's ten years older than me and very smart and he's introduced me to things that weren't in my realm." "Mark has been reassessing his life and decided his future wasn't with Cat," a friend told the Daily Star at the time. "He still loves her but knew they wouldn't spend the rest of their lives together." ‌ Cat - who was also once linked to Leonardo DiCaprio - confirmed: "We've split up - but I've never talked about my private life and I don't intend to now." After their break-up, she spent two years in a relationship with Jack Huston, a scion of the legendary Huston acting dynasty who starred in the film Twilight: Eclipse, but the relationship reportedly ended as the pair wanted to focus on their careers. While single in Hollywood, Cat also dated actor Michael McMillian after first meeting the True Blood star at a party. The pair were regularly photographed around the movie capital, with Cat telling friends she thought he was 'The One'. ‌ But a source told The Mail on Sunday: "It's all over. Cat's disappointed but moving on with her life. She is happy in all aspects of her life apart from her lack of a stable relationship." She went on to tie the knot with The Late Late Show host Patrick in 2012 after a whirlwind nine-month romance. ‌ In a candid interview with Tommy Tiernan in January 2023, Patrick revealed that he first met his wife back in 2002 during their time on hit reality TV show, Fame Academy. Patrick explained: "We each had partners at the time and nothing went on, but there was a wee vibe there." That subtle connection lingered, and the two stayed in touch purely as friends, linked by a sweet ritual of exchanging birthday wishes twice a year. Cat shared her side of the love story on The Late Late Show with Ryan Tubridy in 2020, recalling a particular phonecall that changed everything. ‌ "There was a night before my birthday - I can't even remember which one, it was thirty-something - Patrick called me just to wish me happy birthday," she said. "He asked what I was doing, and I told him we were having a late brunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel. I said, 'It's a shame you're not here - you could come along.'" At the time, Patrick was in a pub at home in Co Down, Northern Ireland. But after the call, he rushed home and booked a 7am flight to Los Angeles. The next day, he strolled into her birthday brunch, leaving Cat in total shock. She later admitted it was then she began to fall for his charm. Reflecting on the bold move, Patrick said: "I've always been a born romantic… If I had a quid for every rom-com I've cried at. I followed my heart all the way to Los Angeles to surprise my now-wife for lunch. Twelve years and two kids later, I think it worked out." However, the TV duo revealed on Tuesday that they are no longer a couple in a bombshell statement. They said: "We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved. "We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment."
