Aer Lingus to launch new route to Cancun from Glasgow and Edinburgh
The flights will go via Dublin, the first time this route has been operated by the airline.
The new route will operate 3 times weekly on the airline's A330-300 aircraft, offering UK and Irish holidaymakers a seamless route to the warmth and vibrant cultural heritage of the Mexican Caribbean.
Glasgow and Edinburgh are two 9 UK airports which will be operating the route, which will also run from 6 January to 29 April 2026 from Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, London Heathrow, Manchester, and Southampton airports.

(Image: Naoise Culhane) Cancún, with its balmy weather, golden beaches, and crystal-clear waters has long been a popular destination with holiday-makers.
The appeal of the Mexican resort goes beyond its beaches, with the region also home to some of Mexico's most iconic cultural sites, including the Mayan ruins of El Rey, Ichkabal, Coba, Kohunlich, El Meco, Chichén Itzá, and Tulum.
Lynne Embleton, Aer Lingus Chief Executive Officer, said: 'Our new route to Cancún introduces a vibrant new destination to our network and further increases Aer Lingus' winter sun offering.
'Our research highlights a strong appetite amongst customers for new travel experiences, particularly seasonal destinations beyond the peak summer period. Mexico, with its tropical climate, caters to the growing consumer demand for winter sun, while also offering a rich blend of history, culture, and cuisine.'
