Jones is accused of the following charges: resisting arrest, first-degree theft of property, reckless endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, felony attempt to elude and first-degree attempted assault.
Police said Jones stole a skid-steer on Jan. 30 in Tillmans Corner and attempted to hit an officer with it when authorities attempted to initiate a traffic stop. He then took the skid-steer onto Interstate 10 Westbound near Highway 90.
Jones allegedly did not stop for officers and began traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-10 before turning around and getting off the interstate at Exit 15B back toward Highway 90.
According to MPD, a police vehicle was hit by the skid-steer, which caused 'major damage.'

MPD: Suspect targets multiple businesses, causes costly damages to AC units
MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- The Midland Police Department has once again asked for help from the community to identify a suspect accused of targeting multiple businesses and causing costly damages. The MPD said it's investigating more than 20 similar cases and adding to that case load each week, but the investigation began in late April when the unknown suspect in the video above was caught on camera at Lone Star Heating and Cooling, located at 3216 Commerical Drive. Investigators said the suspect approached AC units outside the business and stripped the copper off of four units, which damaged the units to the tune of $10,000. 'We believe it is primarily one individual,' said Lieutenant Jason Lee at a news conference Monday. MPD said they think it's the same suspect who has hit multiple businesses in industrial areas of Midland and has been damaging AC units for profit. 'We believe it's the copper, the high resale and salvage value,' Lee said. Stripping the coils and copper wire has rendered the AC units in these cases inoperable and is costly to fix. Two units damaged at Sustaita Services cost about $5,000 to repair, a Midland Crime Stoppers spokesperson said. Anyone with information about the suspect has been asked to call Crime Stoppers at 432-694-TIPS and reference case number 250416302 or 250408300. You may also submit your anonymous tip online or by using the P3 TIPS mobile app. If your tip leads to an arrest, it could be worth a $1,000 reward. Until the suspect is identified and arrested, the MPD offered some tips to help protect your unit, whether at your home or business. Man pleads guilty to using arrow key and stealing mail in New York, feds say
A 25-year-old pleaded guilty to using a postal service key to steal mail out of a receptacle in New York, federal prosecutors said. Antonio Jones, Jr., of Buffalo, now faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 after being convicted of conspiracy to commit mail theft and possession of an arrow key, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of New York said in a June 6 news release. McClatchy News reached out to Jones' attorney June 9 but did not receive an immediate response. According to a complaint filed in October, law enforcement officials found a 'substantial amount' of sealed and opened mail in a car Jones was riding in with two others during an Oct. 2 traffic stop in Cheektowaga. Officials also found an arrow key on Jones during the stop, prosecutors said. Before the traffic stop, the United States Postal Investigation Service along with financial institutions and local law enforcement in the Buffalo area had gotten multiple complaints about stolen and opened mail, leading officials to identify specific collection boxes as regular targets of mail theft, according to the complaint. One of the locations identified was the Cayuga Post Office, and as investigators were conducting surveillance on it, they saw the car with Jones and two others drive up to the back of some mailboxes at the location, according to the complaint. Then, investigators saw two of the men get out of the vehicle, and one of them open the mailboxes and take mail out while the other 'appeared to act as a sort of 'lookout,'' prosecutors said. The men were stopped right after, prosecutors said. The two others Jones was with were convicted earlier and await sentencing, prosecutors said. Jones is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 24, prosecutors said. Cheektowaga is about a 25-mile drive southeast from Niagara Falls. Mail theft During the early COVID-19 pandemic, there was a sharp increase in mail theft complaints, according to a September 2023 report issued by the U.S. Postal Service's Office of Inspector General. From March 2020 through February 2021, there were 299,020 mail theft complaints – a 161% increase 'compared to the same period in the previous year,' the report said. Suspected mail theft can be reported to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service online or by calling 1-877-876-2455.

1 arrested after roughly 500 protest outside Butler County Jail
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — One person was taken into custody Sunday evening after a reported protest in Butler County. According to the Butler County Sheriff's Office, approximately 500 people were outside the county's correctional complex around 6 p.m. on June 8. The sheriff's office claimed people gathered because someone was reportedly being held on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer. Members of the sheriff's office responded to make sure the protest stayed orderly. It is reported by the office that while most people stayed peaceful, some reportedly got on a road and allegedly obstructed traffic. An unnamed individual was arrested at the scene by a Hamilton police officer. The person arrested is reportedly facing a number of charges. Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said protesting peacefully is recognized under the First Amendment. 'The First Amendment protects the right to peaceful protest, and we will always defend that right,' said Jones. 'However, when individuals break the law or endanger others, they will be dealt with swiftly and according to the law. Public safety and the rule of law are non-negotiable.'
