Diners and staff at Edinburgh restaurant 'team up to take on gang' after incident
An Edinburgh restaurant supervisor claims a balaclava-wearing group attempted to steal her bike while she was working on George Street.
Footage captured by a diner at Le Petit Beefbar on Thursday evening, show a group three attempt to nick the bike belonging to a member of staff at the venue.
Anna Mykhailova, 22, only bought the bike a week before the incident and said it's her main commute to work.

The gang allegedly used 'large rocks' in a bid to smash the lock off the bike but did not succeed. Diners and colleagues at the restaurant 'teamed up' against the trio in broad daylight.
Speaking to Edinburgh Live, Anna, who works as the restaurant supervisor, is "relieved" her bike was not taken but said "it could have been gone in two minutes".
Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
She added: "My colleagues told me not to freak out but when I found out what happened, my face completely changed - I thought it was a joke at first.
"There was three guys trying to steal my bike but a customer was screaming at them and trying to get them off
"Another bartender screamed at them too and told them to leave. Luckily, the bike lock did it's job because they had a rock with them and started smashing it but they couldn't get it off.

"The police were there within five minutes. The group was three males in balaclavas and all of them were on the same moped."
The 22-year-old said she paid a lot of money for the bike after saving up for over a year. She was involved in a road accident in 2024 and it was a "big thing" for her to get a new one.
She added: "It was a relief when everything was fine in the end but it could have been gone in two minutes.
"I had only had the bike for one year and I saved money for a while to get this specific one because I was involved in an accident last year.

"If I didn't have the bike, I don't know what I would do - I would be so devastated and sad if it was taken."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.20pm on Thursday, 19 June, we received a report of the attempted theft of a motorbike on George Street in Edinburgh. Enquiries are ongoing."

Fourth man charged after death of man who was trying to be ‘mediator' in fight
A fourth man has been charged after the fatal stabbing of a man who was trying to be a 'mediator' in a fight. Emergency services were called to the scene outside Hounslow Muslim Centre on Hanworth Road, west London, at 2.21pm on Sunday, where the 22-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds. Paramedics from London Ambulance Service treated the man, named by the Metropolitan Police as Dara Omar, from Brentford, west London, before he was taken to hospital where he later died. They are: Kaywan Warzier Karim, 27, of Walnut Tree Road, Hounslow, who was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon on Wednesday; Tania Hamza, 33, of Kingsley Road, Hounslow, who was charged on Thursday with violent disorder and assisting an offender; and Aziz Hama, 31, of Selbourne Ave, Hounslow, who was charged on Thursday with assisting an offender. Cause of death revealed after man who murdered 'cheerful and kind' wife dies
A WIFE-murderer who hid her body in a septic tank and got away with it for almost four decades died of pneumonia, an inquest heard. David Venables, a former pig farmer in Kempsey, was convicted of the murder of 48-year-old Brenda in May 1982 after he hid her body in an underground septic tank on their 440-acre farm. An inquest at Shropshire Coroner's Court in Shrewsbury yesterday (Thursday) found the killer had died of pneumonia after battling urothelial cancer. The 92-year-old was jailed in July 2022, nearly 40 years since Brenda's murder, after her body was found during routine maintenance of the septic tank in 2019. David Venables hid his wife's body in a septic tank. (Image: West Mercia Police) Venables was arrested three weeks later for the murder, which he denied in court, instead blaming serial killer Fred West for her death. He was sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison, but he only spent less than three years behind bars before his death at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on December 16, 2024.
