Egypt decries Israeli scheme to occupy Gaza
The decision aims to legitimize the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and pursue the war of genocide against the Gazans, the Ministry said in a press release on Friday.
The Israeli design aims also to rule out all possibilities of life for the Palestinians, and undermine their right to self-determination and statehood in a stark violation of the international law and humanitarian law, according to the statement.
"Egypt renews condemnation of the Israeli policy of systematic starving of the defenseless Palestinian people as an act of genocide that could only lead to further escalation of the conflict, and expanding hatred and extremism across the Middle East.
"Israel's brutal onslaught on Gaza Strip has exacerbated the situation in the region and triggered an unprecedented humanitarian crisis in the Strip," the statement underscored.
Egypt calls on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council and all stakeholders, to shoulder their political and moral responsibilities, and work urgently to halt the Israeli policy of thuggery which risks undermining the chances of peace and the prospects of the two-state solution.
"It's unlikely for the Israeli occupation and the entire region to enjoy peace and security without establishing the independent state of Palestine within the borders of June 4, 1967, and with East Jerusalem as its capital," it added. (end) asm.gb

UK PM rejects Gaza escalation decision as "wrong"
LONDON, Aug 8 (KUNA) -- UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Friday rejected the Israeli occupation government's decision to take control of Gaza as "wrong", calling for reconsidering it. "The Israeli Government's decision to further escalate its offensive in Gaza is wrong, and we urge it to reconsider immediately," he said in a press statement. "This action will do nothing to bring an end to this conflict or to help secure the release of the hostages. It will only bring more bloodshed," he added. The UK prime minister also called for ensuring a ceasefire and delivering more humanitarian aid to the enclave's population as every day the humanitarian crisis in Gaza worsens. Starmer pointed out that his country is working with its allies on a long-term plan to secure peace in the region as part of a two-state solution, and ultimately achieve a brighter future for Palestinians and Israelis. Earlier in the day, the Israeli occupation government approved its head Benjamin Netanyahu's plan to take control of Gaza City and expand its military operations. (end)

UK urges Israel to reconsider decision to escalate onslaught on Gaza
LONDON, Aug 8 (KUNA) -- British Prime Minister Keir Starmer criticized as "wrong" Israeli government's decision on Friday to further escalate its offensive in Gaza Strip. "We urge it (Israel) to reconsider immediately," he said in a Downing Street statement. "This action will do nothing to bring an end to this conflict or to help secure the release of the hostages. It will only bring more bloodshed," he cautioned. "Every day the humanitarian crisis in Gaza worsens and hostages taken by Hamas are being held in appalling and inhuman conditions. "What we need is a ceasefire, a surge in humanitarian aid, the release of all hostages by Hamas and a negotiated solution," Starmer affirmed. "Together with our allies, we are working on a long-term plan to secure peace in the region as part of a two-state solution, and ultimately achieve a brighter future for Palestinians and Israelis. "But without both sides engaging in good faith in negotiations, that prospect is vanishing before our eyes. "Our message is clear: a diplomatic solution is possible, but both parties must step away from the path of destruction," he added. (end)

Saudi Arabia slams in strongest rhetoric occupation scheme to occupy Gaza
RIYADH, Aug 8 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia on Friday condemned in the strongest and sharpest terms the decision by the Israeli occupation authorities to occupy Gaza Strip. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia denounces in the most utter manner the crimes of starvation, brutality and racial cleansing against the brotherly Palestinian people, said a statement by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday. The undeterred and inhuman thoughts and resolutions adopted by the Israeli occupation authorities affirm anew that they do not fathom the deep-rooted, historic and legal attachment of the Palestinian people to their lands, the official statement said. It warned against the continuing passiveness of the international community and the Security Council and their failure to halt the Israeli offensives and violations immediately. This failure threatens the regional and international security and peace and may lead to dire consequences "that encourage the practicing of genocide and forced displacement." Moreover, the foreign ministry called on the international community to take deterring, firm and effective stands to end this humanitarian catastrophe and pave the way for a solution that has been supported by peace-loving nations as to the implementation of the two-states plan and establishment of the State of Palestine with the 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital, as stipulated by the relevant UN resolutions.
