Noida Police have busted a fake police station and arrested six men for allegedly impersonating as government officials and extorting money using fake documents and IDs, reported Hindustan Times. According to police, the gang posed as public servants, collected donations via their website and displayed various national and international certificates online to appear legitimate. The gang was running a bogus office in the name of the International Police & Crime Investigation Bureau in Noida's Phase 3 area. 'Initial investigation has revealed they possessed counterfeit stamps, letterheads, and replicas of various government emblems,' Avasthy added. In July, Uttar Pradesh Police had arrested a man accused of running a fake embassy from a rented house in Ghaziabad and duping job seekers out of money with promises of overseas employment. The accused, 47-year-old Harsh Vardhan Jain, was operating an "illegal West Arctic embassy by renting a house" in Ghaziabad, police had said. According to the police, Jain claimed to be the ambassador of fictional nations "like West Arctica, Saborga, Poulvia, Lodonia". He allegedly used vehicles with fake diplomatic plates and shared doctored photos of himself with Indian leaders to bolster his claims. "His main activities involved acting as a broker to secure work in foreign countries for companies and private individuals, as well as operating a hawala (money transfer) racket through shell companies," the police said in a statement following his arrest.

CBI busts call centre racket in Igatpuri resort
Mumbai: CBI busted an illegal call centre racket operating from a rented premise at a resort in Igatpuri on Friday, arresting five Mumbai-based individuals and recovering Rs 1.2 crore in unaccounted cash, 500 gm of gold and seven luxury cars collectively worth Rs 1 crore. The accused duped their victims by introducing themselves as a customer care centre of an e-commerce website. The arrested individuals — Vishal Yadav, Shebaz, Durgesh, Abhay Raj alias Raja, and Sameer alias Kalia-Sohail, targeted US and Canadian citizens by posing as policemen and committing cyber fraud. They had recruited 62 people to work in the call centre. During the search, CBI recovered 44 laptops, 71 mobile phones and other incriminating digital evidence for examination and found transactions amounting to around 5,000 USDT cryptocurrency (Rs 5 lakhs) and 2,000 Canadian dollar worth gift vouchers (Rs 1.3 lakh). He claimed that Amardeep Kumar, an Indian national currently living in Dubai, is the main accused in the Falcon app fraud. Jagani said the firm duped thousands of Indian investors of crores by falsely promising high returns through a ponzi-style scheme, the crime branch officer said. Another complainant, Pardeep Kumar Gupta, a resident of Jammu's Lakhdatta Bazar area, alleged that he lost Rs 62 lakh investing in the app after being promised "high returns." Gupta alleged that the executives of Capital Protection Force misled investors with fabricated vendor profiles via social media promotions, fake deals, and claimed to have partnerships with reputed multinational companies. Jammu Senior Superintendent of Police (Crime) Benam Tosh said an FIR has been registered in connection with the matter at the Economic Offences Wing Police Station.
