‘South Park' Mocks Trump Administration Again—Targets Noem And Vance
The latest episode of South Park took aim at the Trump administration once again, this time mocking DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and Vice President JD Vance. Getty Images for Paramount+
In the episode, titled 'Got A Nut,' one of the show's recurring characters, South Park Elementary School Counselor Mr. Mackay, is shown losing his job due to Trump's budget cuts targeting the Department of Education.
Mackay then decides to take up a job with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), where Noem appears in an orientation video, where she admits to putting her puppy down 'by shooting it in the face,' something the Department of Homeland Security secretary previously admitted to doing in her 2024 memoir.
The animated Noem's puppy-killing becomes a recurring gag throughout the episode, along with her face melting away and having to be constantly patched up by a team of makeup artists.
The episode shows ICE carrying out raids at a live Dora the Explorer concert, among other locations, and Noem instructs the agency's officers: 'Remember, only detain the brown ones!'
Aside from Noem, the episode also pokes fun at Vance, who is shown as a toddler-sized sidekick of Trump who constantly shadows him around Mar-a-Lago, much to the president's irritation.
The episode once again depicts Trump as a lover of Satan and someone with small genitals.
'South Park' aired its first full episode in more than two years last month, stirring both controversy and praise. The episode focused mainly on Trump and Paramount—the parent company of the network and streamer that airs 'South Park.' Multiple segments throughout the show depicted a cartoon version of the president getting in bed with Satan, who was shown as Trump's lover, in a callback to early seasons, where Satan and former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein were depicted as romantic partners. Jesus Christ, who has been a recurring character in the show, reappeared in the town of South Park during the premiere and said he had to do this because of the 'lawsuit and an agreement with Paramount,' an apparent jab at the media giant's $16 million settlement with the president. The show also featured repeated depictions of Trump with comedically small genitals—including an AI-generated deepfake of Trump who strips naked. How Had The White House Reacted To The First Episode?
The premiere triggered an angry reaction from the White House, as a spokesperson for the president described 'South Park' as a 'fourth-rate' show. 'The Left's hypocrisy truly has no end – for years they have come after 'South Park' for what they labeled as 'offense' content, but suddenly they are praising the show,' White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers told several outlets. 'This show hasn't been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.'
South Park released a teaser for Wednesday's episode depicting ICE last week. The Department of Homeland Security used a still from the teaser to urge people to join ICE on X, prompting the official South Park handle to hit back, saying 'Wait, so we ARE relevant? #eatabagofdicks,' in reference to the White House's not relevant for 20 years remark. Bernie Sanders Diagnoses Democrats' Biggest 2024 Campaign Failure
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) accused Democrats of turning their backs on the working class while recently breaking down why Vice President Kamala Harris' 2024 presidential campaign failed. During a stop in Wheeling, West Virginia, of his 'Fighting Oligarchy' tour, the nation's most prominent progressive told a packed auditorium Saturday that Harris had 'too many billionaires telling her not to stand up for the working class of this country.' Sanders was unapologetic when asked if his comments were too harsh during Sunday's episode of CNN's 'State of the Union.' 'I like Kamala, she's a friend of mine,' he told host Dana Bash. 'But her core consultants, you know, were very influenced by wealthy people.' 'How do you run for president and not develop a strong agenda which speaks to the economic crises facing working families?' the Vermont senator said. Detailing the struggles that every day Americans face, Sanders said, 'We have more income and wealth inequality today than we've ever had. We've got 60% of our people living paycheck to paycheck.' 'You've got a health care system which is broken and dysfunctional, and despite spending so much, we're the only major country not to guarantee health care to all people,' he went on. 'How do you not talk about these issues?' While Bash reminded Sanders that 'affordability' was part of Harris' platform, he dismissed her ideas as too 'vague' for average voters to see as real solutions to real problems. His strategy for winning back the working class? Unwavering support for struggling Americans. 'Is it a radical idea that we join every other major country on Earth and guarantee health care to all people? Is that a radical idea?' he asked. 'You tell me how many people are talking about that.' Also advocating for livable wages and easier access to higher education, he said, 'These ideas exist all over the world. They don't exist in America. And they don't exist because of the power of the oligarchs economically and politically.' 'In my view, the current political system in the United States of America is broken and corrupt,' he went on. Sanders' message wasn't without a glimmer of hope, however. 'If we stand together, if we're united, if we don't let Trump divide us up, there's no stopping what we can do as a nation in terms of improving life for ordinary people,' he told Bash. Related... Liam Neeson Goes Viral for His Unexpected Answer to ‘What Is a Labubu?'
The colorful, collectible monster toys are one of the biggest pop culture crazes of the momentNEED TO KNOW Liam Neeson was asked what a Labubu is in a new interview, and his hilarious response has gone viral 'Can you eat it?' a puzzled Neeson wondered The collectible monster toys have been popping up everywhere, and boast a number of celebrity fans, including Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and David BeckhamLiam Neeson is nothing but puzzled by one of the biggest pop culture crazes of the moment. During a recent interview with Fox News, the 73-year-old actor was shown a photo of a Labubu toy and was asked what it was. 'I have no clue. No,' a baffled Neeson quickly replied, shaking his head. 'Seriously, I don't know.' When he was told that the photo featured a Labubu, the Naked Gun star continued to appear completely bewildered. 'Okay,' he then said. 'It's a fluffy doll. Or, can you eat it?' While Neeson may not be part of the Labubu fan club, the toys are a viral phenomenon around the world. A number of celebrities have even gotten in on the craze, including BLACKPINK's Lisa, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Dua Lipa and David Beckham. Created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung, Labubus are sold by Pop Mart, which describes the toys as being "a devilish but cute monster with pointed ears, a charmingly mischievous smile, and very sharp teeth." The colorful, collectible dolls, which are often sold in blind bags, can be hooked to purses and bags as quirky accessories and charms. Aside from his hilarious response to his first encounter with Labubus, Neeson has been making headlines recently for his romance with his Naked Gun costar, Pamela Anderson. PEOPLE first confirmed that the two were dating in July, with a source revealing that their relationship was "in the early stages." "It's sincere, and it's clear they're smitten with each other," the insider said. Since going public with their romance, the pair have been showered with support from family and friends. Neeson's 28-year-old son, Daniel, gave his stamp of approval when his dad and Anderson, 58, made a joint appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Aug. 3. After host Andy Cohen told the two stars, "I do just want to say, as a very old friend of yours, all of your friends are very much stanning this relationship, as the kids say," he shouted out Daniel, who was sitting in the studio audience. Cohen asked, to which Daniel replied, "Yes!" with a big smile. Jamie Lee Curtis got choked up in an interview with VT earlier this month as she shared her hope that Anderson, her costar in The Last Showgirl, has found love with Neeson. "If love has found [its] way into that relationship, God bless them both," she said. "Because both of them have had hardship, and they're both beautiful human beings. And if they actually have found an intimate love with each other, we should all go to bed tonight feeling better." Doug Mand, who co-wrote The Naked Gun reboot, told The Hollywood Reporter he's "pulling for the two of them in a big way," as he recalled how Neeson and Anderson had "immediate chemistry" on the movie's set. 'They liked each other. You only dream that your two costars are connecting on that level,' he told the outlet in an interview published on Aug. 5. Read the original article on People
