Jamie Lever recalls being sexually harassed by school bus conductor: ‘I was in one of the best schools, he was supposed to be our protector'
Sexual harassment has, unfortunately, been a part of every girl's life. Most women, no matter where they grow up, encounter creepy men in their life who scar them for life with gestures or worse. Some heinous incidents are reported, but many are not even shared at home. Recently, actor Johny Lever's daughter Jamie Lever shared similar scarring incidents from her childhood that continue to haunt her.
In a recent conversation with Hauterrfly, Jamie recalled disturbing incidents from her growing up years. She recalled an incident where a creep landed outside her school and touched himself as a 12-year-old Jamie was left scandalised. 'This one time, my friend and I were waiting in the car for my brother to come. While we were talking to each other, this guy came and stood opposite me and started to masturbate. This was the first time I saw a male part, and I was so young that I didn't know what he was doing. I suddenly told my friend, 'there is a creepy man behind you and I don't know what he is doing.' My friend suggested that I ignore him and continue to speak with her. I was very scared. I was shaking. I slowly moved and locked the car. After a while, when he realised that we weren't paying any attention to him. He left. I was just 10 or 12 then,' she recalled.

This wasn't the only time she had to go through a painful experience. She experienced something similar for a long time when her school bus conductor touched her and her friends inappropriately. 'There was also this bus conductor in our school who would touch us inappropriately. He was supposed to be our protector, but instead he would touch us and hold us. For me, all these incidents are like a bad dream. I don't want to revisit these incidents,' she said.
Jamie kept quiet this whole time, and failed to gain the courage to speak up even after reaching college. 'The flashing incidents happened a lot when I was in college. Men would just randomly flash at these train stations. Once I was in Andheri station, when this man randomly came and stood before me and flashed. I couldn't believe what I saw. I was in shock. The only thing I could think of is why did this happen to me? I just froze.' She added, 'All these incidents are so scary. When it can happen with me, who was supposedly in one of the best schools, then how can I be sure that this won't happen to my kids.'

On its first Saturday, the film brought in an estimated ₹30 crore net, taking its total collection so far to ₹54 crore approximately. The film registered an overall 33.18% occupancy, with numbers growing as the day progressed. Interestingly, the film showed good occupancy in cities like Chennai too, which had a 52% occupancy. Given that the film also has Sunday to bank on before weekdays hit, it remains to be seen how much the film collects in its first weekend. The film has been marketed with two different climaxes – Housefull 5 A and B – which also seems to be working in its favour. Talking about shooting two different endings, Tarun told ANI it was challenging and said, 'Sajid (Sajid Nadiadwala) sir had this idea about 30 years ago. And finally, he brought it to Housefull 5. And that was one of the most exciting things for me as a director to make a film with two different climaxes.' He added, 'At that point in time, it sounds very exciting and you feel very challenged and want to make it as a filmmaker. But when you come down to doing it actually on set, then you realise the real challenges.' Fardeen Khan, Chitrangada Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chunky Panday, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjit and Nikitin Dheer also star in the fifth film of the popular franchise.

Jamie Lever Reveals Being Traumatised After Man Masturbated In Front Of Her
Last Updated: Jamie Lever, daughter of actor Johny Lever, shared a traumatic school incident where a stranger exposed himself and masturbated, leading her to avoid men for years. Actress, comedian, and social media personality Jamie Lever, daughter of the renowned Bollywood actor Johny Lever, recently revealed some deeply troubling experiences from her past. These incidents had a profound effect on her, causing her to avoid men for many years. Jamie recounted a distressing event where a stranger exposed himself and masturbated in front of her outside her school. Jamie was a student at Jamnabai Narsee International School in Mumbai's Vile Parle at the time. Recalling the disturbing incident, Jamie told Hauterrfly, 'My driver asked me to sit inside the car after school. I was sitting at the backseat with my friend and we were waiting for my brother. A man came and stood outside the car…he flashed and he started masturbating. I was so shocked that I didn't understand what was happening. I was shaking because I thought he'll open the car door. I slowly locked the doors and when he realised we were not looking at him, he walked off." The actress added, 'It was so disturbing. I was only 10-12 years old when this happened. I didn't tell my parents because I didn't understand what happened. I did not even discuss this with the friend who I was with because we were traumatised." Jamie also said that the school bus conductor, who was supposed to keep children safe, would sometimes hold them and touch them in a wrong way. Recalling another incident, Jamie said, 'Once, I was coming down the stairs at Andheri station and a man came and flashed in front of me. I froze as I didn't understand what happened and why it happened. My friend pulled me and asked me to just keep walking. All these things disturb you. It's now that I feel that I have the courage to stand up for myself and react." Talking about how these incidents affected her as a teenager, Jamie added, 'To be honest, all these things are like a bad dream to me. You don't want to go back and revisit these things. I've suppressed these incidents in my subconscious. Also, because of these scary incidents, I didn't let men come close to me for many years. Dating, relationships and even talking to men happened much later in my life. I started opening up when I was in London for my post-graduation." Jamie made her Bollywood debut in 2015 with the film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, which starred Kapil Sharma, Elli AvrRam, and others. She later appeared in movies like Housefull 4, Bhoot Police, Yaatris, and Crakk. In 2024, she stepped into the South Indian film industry with her first Telugu film, Aa Okatti Adakku.
