Crews fight fire at market near Battle Creek
PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A large fire broke out at a popular market near Battle Creek Saturday.
It happened around 7 p.m. at Bailey Park Thriftway, located at 1391 Capital Ave. NE near Eaton Street. Multiple departments were called to put out the flames and crews remained on site as of around 10:45 p.m.
The Bedford Charter Township Fire Department posted photos to its Facebook page of firefighters battling heavy smoke and flames at the market.
Calhoun County Dispatch told News 8 that Pennfield Township Fire Department was leading the response.
According to its Facebook page, the market has been locally owned for more than 60 years.
