Vikings set to host notable offensive line prospect for a pre-draft visit
One of the draft's bigger prospects is scheduled to visit the Minnesota Vikings. The team added two starters to their offensive line in free agency but could still look to add depth in the draft.
The Draft Network's Ryan Fowler reported that the Vikings will host Arizona offensive tackle Jonah Savaiinaea for their "Top 30" event. Savaiinaea stands 6'4", 324 pounds, and was a three-year starter at Arizona, appearing in 35 games.
The former Wildcat has experience all across the offensive line. In 2024, he played 345 snaps at left tackle, 364 snaps at right tackle, and even lined up as a tight end 29 times. Savaiinaea played 928 snaps at right guard in his first season before switching to right tackle during the 2023 season.
According to PFF, he improved every season despite playing all over the line. His run and pass-block grades improved each season, finishing the 2024 season with a 64.2 run-block grade and an 82.7 pass-block grade.
With Christian Darrisaw's Week 1 availability in question and Will Fries recovering from a tibia injury, Savaiinaea could fill in as needed at several offensive line positions. That position flexibility could mean he could also push for the starting left guard spot, which was manned by Blake Brandel in 2024.
Savaiinaea is currently ranked 87th on PFF's Big Board, projecting to be a third or fourth-round pick.

Budding Vikings Playmaker NaJee Thompson Issues Official Goodbye After Injury

Budding Vikings Playmaker NaJee Thompson Issues Official Goodbye After Injury originally appeared on Athlon Sports. "How to make an NFL roster in seven seconds:" the masterclass Minnesota Vikings cornerback Najee Thompson put on in his first preseason game as an undrafted rookie in 2023. Advertisement The former state champion sprinter scorched downfield and snared a Seattle Seahawks punt return at the point of the catch. It was seven seconds that secured Thompson's role as Minnesota's special teams ace two years ago. He popped with several meaningful plays as a gunner several times throughout his rookie year, including a forced fumble and recovery that gave the Vikings life in an otherwise demoralizing late-season loss to the Green Bay Packers. Thompson claimed the role as special teams ace with his effort no matter the score. However, injuries ultimately ended Thompson's time in Minnesota. After missing the entire 2024 season with a knee injury, Thompson failed a team physical in April and was waived from the team. Advertisement While Thompson has reacted to the tough news before, he seemed to be holding onto some hope of a return before ultimately issuing an official farewell on June 6. Former Minnesota Vikings cornerback NaJee Thompson (11)Jamie Sabau-Imagn Images "It's surreal. Thank you all for making the first part of my dream something. I'll never forget and very grateful to have the opportunity here," he wrote. "But so long, Minnesota. Officially outta here and to the cold weather you will be the only thing not missed but on to new beginnings.' Without Thompson for the 2024 season, the Vikings deployed wide receiver Trent Sherfield for the gunner role. Sherfield signed with the Denver Broncos in the offseason, prompting the Vikings to sign former Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Tavierre Thomas, who is assumed to fill a prominent role on special teams this season. Where does new Jacksonville Jaguars' center Robert Hainsey rank among position group?

Where does new Jacksonville Jaguars' center Robert Hainsey rank among position group? Where does new Jacksonville Jaguars' center Robert Hainsey rank among his position group heading into the 2025 NFL season? Where does new Jacksonville Jaguars' center Robert Hainsey rank among his position group heading into the 2025 NFL season? Pro Football Focus has been putting together its ranking of the top 32 players at each position group. At the guard spot, Mason Cameron had Hainsey at No. 23 on his list. "While we haven't seen much of Hainsey over the past year, he did show flashes on a small sample size, posting a 73.3 PFF overall grade," wrote Cameron. "That should be a positive step toward a return to form in Jacksonville." With the addition of Graham Barton by the Buccaneers in last year's NFL draft, Hainsey played just 94 snaps in 2024 coming off the bench. However, as GM James Gladstone described following the addition of Hainsey in free agency, there were two things about his game that stood out and made him a player that the Jaguars had to sign. One facet is that he knows Liam Coen's offense after the two worked together while in Tampa Bay last season. As Gladstone put it, Hainsey's familiarity with the system "takes some weight off the shoulders" of Trevor Lawrence at the line of scrimmage. The other part of Hainsey's game that grabbed Gladstone's attention was his play style. "The whistle blows and he's playing through it, and that's something that we really, really value," Gladstone said. The Jaguars signed Hainsey to a three-year, $21 million deal with $13 million guaranteed.

PFF give Steelers rare praise — Zach Frazier ranked among top centers in NFL

PFF give Steelers rare praise — Zach Frazier ranked among top centers in NFL Pro Football Focus has given Pittsburgh some rare praise — ranking second-year Steelers C Zach Frazier among the very top at his position. PFF's Mason Cameron recently tackled the challenge of ranking the top 32 centers in the NFL for the 2025 season — and Frazier was ranked in the top three, just below Ravens C Tyler Linderbaum at second and Chiefs C Creed Humphrey at first. Here is what Cameron had to say about Frazier's placement as the third-best center in the NFL: "The Steelers hit it out of the park when they selected Frazier in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. At just 24 years old, he heads into his second year poised to build on an excellent rookie campaign during which he placed fourth in PFF overall grade (77.9) among qualifying centers. Frazier's all-around grading profile is solid, as he places above the 75th percentile as both a pass protector and a run blocker." Following future Hall of Fame C Maurkice Pouncey's retirement at the end of the 2020 season, the Steelers struggled to find his heir apparent — but Frazier looks to be the cornerstone at the position for the foreseeable future.
