Mayo property owned by Liam and Noel Gallagher's grandmother put up for sale
A property once owned by Liam and Noel Gallagher's maternal grandmother in Co Mayo has been put up for sale. The recently-renovated two-bedroom cottage is located in Sonnagh, Charlestown, where the brothers' mother, Peggy, and their grandmother, Margret, originally hail from. The Oasis front man and guitarist, who often speak fondly of their Mayo roots, would have spent many childhood summers at the cottage, having journeyed back across the Irish sea from Manchester. Such is their connection to the town, during last weekend's sellout Saturday gig at Croke Park, Liam Gallagher asked the crowd: "Anyone here from Mayo, Charlestown?" When the 80,000 strong audience cheered in reply, Liam said: "There's only about five people there, you can't all be f*****g from there." Liam Gallagher whips up the crowd at Croke Park last weekend. Picture: Chani Anderson He then dedicated the track Roll With It to the town. Later in the same show, he dedicated the track Stand By Me to his mother. Liam and Noel's maternal grandmother, Margeret Sweeney, died in September, 2000, just a few weeks short of her 80th birthday. Her former home is set on six acres of land on which there is a natural spring and the ruins of a former corn mill. The Sonnagh River also runs through the site. The internal accommodation extends to approximately 83.6 sqm/900 sq ft and comprises entrance hall, a large open-plan kitchen/living/dining room, two double bedrooms and two shower rooms. The home, situated just 10km from Knock Airport, is now on the market for €350,000. The sale is being handled by DNG Country Homes & Estates in Ranelagh, Dublin, an affiliate of Hamptons International, and DNG Cyril Burke, in Castlebar. The cottage is located in Sonnagh, Charlestown, Co Mayo. Picture: According to the property listing, the Gallagher family would have spent "many childhood summers in this house, enjoying the freedom of the countryside setting and soaking up the musical traditions of the Charlestown locality". "Having just played two sold out gigs in Dublin, the residents of Charlestown may be expecting a visit from the famous Gallaghers as they are very proud of their Mayo heritage, and many fans are making the pilgrimage to Co Mayo in the hope of having a chance encounter with their idols". Indeed, while many locals in Charlestown had hoped the siblings might have visited the town in the wake of their shows in Croke Park last Saturday and Sunday there have not been any confirmed sightings of the brothers in the area over recent days. Oasis's next gig takes place in Toronto this weekend. You can view the full sale listing for the house here.

Love Island girls Meg, Helena and Shakira suffer HUGE financial blow as major fashion brand refusing to sign them up
Former islanders have made millions off the back of the brand island ban Love Island girls Meg, Helena and Shakira suffer HUGE financial blow as major fashion brand refusing to sign them up THE stars of Love Island this series will not be landing a deal from one of the major fashion brands. In the past, a number of popular contestants have cashed in with their own edits and collections for Pretty Little Thing, but this year the retailer will not be working with an islander. 5 Shakira might have been a huge hit on the show - but she won't be getting a PLT deal Credit: Splash 5 Helena is another girl who will miss out on the brand deal Credit: Splash 5 Viewers made a number of jokes about Meg trying to get a deal An insider said: 'It's a huge blow for the islanders this year, but PLT just aren't interested. 'They have had a huge rebrand recently and while there's no doubt they have made millions off the likes of Molly-Mae in the past, they will be doing things differently." Molly famously ended up as creative director for PLT after impressing bosses so much. Gemma Owen also signed a hefty deal with them off the back of her series and Ella Thomas, Grace Jackson and Uma Jammeh all worked with them too. Throughout this series, which was won by Toni and Cach, viewers made numerous references to the girls trying to land a deal - in particular Meg and Helena. But their fallout with Shakira and her gang, made people question what deals they would get. One person remarked: 'I wonder if Irish Meg will keep distance from the mean girls now she has seen what the public think of them. That PLT deal won't sign itself sis.' Another said: 'Meg just watched her PLT deal blow up in front of her. Dejon you bad boy.' While a third added: 'Helena is OBSESSED with Shakira omfg, somebody tell Helena she ain't getting that PLT deal from Shakira no matter how hard she tries I beg'. Molly-Mae had long had an affiliation with the brand having secured a big-money deal with the Manchester based retailer following her exit from Love Island. Molly Mae cruelly mum-shamed after quitting £5m PLT job to concentrate on baby Bambi However, she shocked fans when she announced that she would be stepping down from her reported £5million-a-year role as Creative Director in order to focus on motherhood. In June 2023, Molly confirmed that she had quit her mega-money fashion job. She was paid a reported £400,000 per month. In March of this year returning CEO Umar Kamani threw his 'A Legacy in Progress' Party at the Caviar Kaspia in Paris. A string of A-list stars attended, including supermodel Naomi Campbell, actress and model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, actor Ed Westwick, boxing champion Anthony Joshua, socialite Cindy Bruna, and fashion influencer Leonie Hanne all graced the event. A Legacy in Progress marked a pivotal moment in PrettyLittleThing's ongoing transformation. He said at the time: 'People talk about the old PLT. This PLT is going to be far better.' 5 Molly Mae famously worked with PLT for years Credit: Getty 5 Gemma Owen also had her own edit Credit: instagram
