How to unlock Duchess and Revenant classes in Elden Ring: Nightreign

Digital Trends2 days ago

As a multiplayer spinoff, Elden Ring: Nightreign changes up the formula from the original game in some major ways. Besides the shifting world and focus on playing with friends, the biggest change is that you no longer make your own unique character. Now, you will choose from a selection of classes to embody on any given run that each have their own skills, attributes, and starting gear. Six are available from the start, but the Duchess and Revenant are locked. These are two of the more unique options in Elden Ring: Nightreign and should be your priority to make sure you can have the best team composition. Here's how to unlock each class.

How to unlock the Duchess class
Of the two locked classes in Elden Ring: Nightreign, you have to unlock the Duchess first. Thankfully, you almost can't avoid performing most of the required steps, but there are a few obtuse moments we can guide you through.
Step 1: Beat the first Nightlord boss while doing the Tricephalos Expedition. This is the default expedition that you will be doing first anyway.
Step 2: When you beat the boss, you will get an Old Pocketwatch item. Some players have reported getting it even when they died fighting the boss and not beating it, so you may only need to reach the boss and not actually win.
Step 3: Back at the Roundtable Hold, visit the Priestess and choose to "Show her the old pocketwatch. and watch the cutscene.
Step 4: The Priestess will reveal that she is actually the Duchess and unlock the class in the character selection screen.
How to unlock the Revenant class
Once you've unlocked the Duchess you can move on to unlocking the Revenant. This class is easier to unlock, but very easy to miss.
Step 1: In the Roundtable Hold, pay a visit to the Small Jar Bazaar.
Step 2: From the list of items, purchase the Besmirched Frame for 1,500 Murk.
Step 3: Go to the east wing and find a phantom that has appeared.
Step 4: Interact with her to get teleported back to the tutorial area where you will fight the Revenant and three summons.
Step 5: Win the fight and you will unlock the class. If you fail, you are free to try again as many times as it takes.

You can find them here: The first Tuesday of June is upon us and apparently I've brought rain back with me from Scotland. It's quite lovely, actually. There's never enough rain in these high desert mountains. I'll take every drop I can get, and so will our poor, dry forests. Rain also means more time to spend indoors solving puzzles! Let's solve today's Wordle, shall we? The Hint: Taking care of business. The Clue: This Wordle begins with a vowel. Okay, spoilers below! The answer is coming! Today's Wordle Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here. I almost guessed ELDER as my opening guess today because I was writing about Elden Ring, but then I disliked using two E's and so I came up with a different word that had some similar letters: DEALT. This left me with just 36 remaining words but I chose to try all new letters for my second guess, CHOIR. Two options remained: VAPID or ADMIN. I chose the latter because I was 99% sure VAPID had already been a Wordle. Luckily for me, I was right! Today's Wordle Bot The Bot and I keep trading days. I win, then it wins, then I win. Today I get 1 point for guessing in three and 1 point for beating the Bot. The Bot gets 0 for guessing in four and -1 for losing to me. Our June totals are: Erik: 3 points Wordle Bot: 0 points 'Admin' is a clipped form of 'administrator,' which itself comes from Medieval Latin administrator ('one who manages'), based on Latin administrare ('to manage, attend to'), a compound of ad‑ ('to') + ministrare ('to serve'), from minister ('servant'). Japanese Gaming Billionaire Scores A Twofer And Doubles His Fortune

Kagemasa Kozuki. This story is part of Forbes' coverage of Japan's Richest 2025. See the full list here. Gaming billionaire Kagemasa Kozuki, whose Konami Group scored a twofer with its esports game series and a horror media franchise, is the biggest gainer in percentage terms this year. Thanks to these hits, Kozuki's net worth doubled to $3.5 billion from a year ago as shares of the Tokyo-listed company soared. ss Konami's eFootball game, which has notched over 850 million downloads worldwide since its release in 2021, 'is driving the profits of the digital entertainment business,' Japan Credit Rating Agency noted in an April report. Earlier this year, Konami added Spanish soccer player Lamine Yamal to its lineup of brand ambassadors that includes Argentinian soccer star Lionel Messi. The company also got a jolt from 'Silent Hill 2,' a remake of the horror game classic it published 24 years ago, which has sold over two million copies since its release in October. Konami's revenue jumped 17% to ¥421.6 billion ($2.9 billion) in the year ended March, while net profit surged 26% to ¥74.7 billion. Kozuki started Konami as a jukebox rental and repair shop in Osaka in 1969; in addition to online, video, card and arcade games, Konami today sells gaming machines and casino-management systems and operates Konami Sports Club, one of the largest fitness club brands in Japan.

007 First Light: Here's What James Bond Might Be Up to in His Next Game, Based Mostly on My Hopes and Dreams

More than 70 years after the character first appeared in the novel Casino Royale, James Bond is being reinvented yet again. The latest news comes from IO Interactive, makers of the Hitman games, who announced the title of its upcoming Bond game: 007 First Light, which will be shown off later this week. It has been an interesting year for Bond, with longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson handing creative control over to Amazon MGM Studios in February, and the studio hiring Amy Pascal and David Heyman as their effective replacements. And almost 30 years after the iconic GoldenEye 007 blended espionage elements into first-person shooter gameplay on the N64, we're getting a glimpse of the next incarnation of Bond video games, from a studio that has lots of experience with stealth and subterfuge. The website for First Light describes it as "a wholly original Bond origin story" that will be about Bond earning his 00 status. In Bond lore, agents are only granted 00 status after killing one (sometimes multiple) people as part of an assignment. But guessing that James Bond will have to shoot someone in an upcoming 007 game isn't exactly the boldest prediction. So, what should we expect Bond to be up to in this game? I own all of the Ian Fleming 007 novels and most of the movies and have seen every official Eon-produced Bond film. Based on that extensive experience and (moreso) the willingness to blindly gaze into a crystal ball, here's what I think we might see in First Light. Searching for a missing 007 After decades of books and movies following myriad incarnations of James Bond, a lot has already been explored, but one thing the movies haven't really touched is what happened to the previous 007. That point comes up in the plot of an Anthony Horowitz Bond novel, but is otherwise fresh territory for a game portraying Bond's origins. James inheriting the 007 designation after investigating the disappearance of his predecessor could add new layers of meaning and weight to the title. Discovering Spectre Spectre, the Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion organization, became a recurring antagonist in Fleming's later novels and a frequent presence in Connery films. It's basically a melting pot of criminal organizations from around the world, allowing for conveniently apolitical villainous agendas. Bond unraveling the threads that lead to MI6's first encounter with SPECTRE would be a fun way to nod to the character's history while still treading new ground. Uncovering MI6 corruption Bond himself is prone to going rogue, usually because he of course knows better than the official orders handed to him, so another possible angle is sending him to investigate possible traitorous activity inside his own organization. This could play nicely with the "earning 00 status" element, presenting Bond with situations where he's tasked with taking out former agents gone bad. IO Interactive has said that this will be an original incarnation of Bond -- no Connery, Craig, etc. look-alike. The title teaser shows us a silhouette of the character, but we should get our first proper look at the character in a few days.
