Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment, operating under Digital Dubai, has successfully completed the fifth edition of the Household Income and Expenditure Survey 2024.
The survey, conducted with 5,000 Emirati and non-Emirati families, as well as collective households and workers' accommodations, achieved an impressive 87% response rate.
As part of a nationwide initiative led by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre in collaboration with local statistical authorities, the survey examines key economic and social indicators. It provides insights into household income levels, spending habits, and overall living standards, helping shape policies that enhance societal well-being.
Younus Al Nasser, Chief Executive of Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment, emphasized the survey's role in providing valuable data for decision-making. 'With every survey we conduct—whether in social, economic, or other fields—the vital role of data as a true reflection of reality becomes increasingly evident. The Household Income and Expenditure Survey 2024 exemplifies this, reaffirming the importance of collaboration in leveraging real data and insights,"
he stated.
The survey aligns with Dubai's Social Agenda 33, supporting leadership efforts to enhance the quality of life and solidify the city's reputation as a global hub for living and working. The data collection process involved 105 participants and was marked by high accuracy and comprehensiveness, reflecting both institutional confidence and public awareness of the significance of statistical insights in policymaking.

M2, which includes quasi-monetary deposits, increased 1.6% to AED2,474.0 billion, while M3, the broadest measure, climbed 1.7% to AED2,948.1 billion, supported by higher government deposits. The monetary base expanded 2.2% to AED836.7 billion, bolstered by increases in currency issuance, reserve accounts, and monetary bills, despite declines in certain bank accounts and overnight deposits. Gross banks' assets rose 2.7% to AED4,878.3 billion, and gross credit increased 1.5% to AED2,293.4 billion, reflecting growth in domestic and foreign lending. Credit to government and private sectors rose, while lending to public sector entities and non-banking financial institutions fell. Bank deposits strengthened by 1.8% to AED3,018.5 billion, driven by growth in resident and non-resident deposits, with government and private sector holdings showing the largest gains. 18 Aug 2025 17:07 ABU DHABI (WAM) Education Interface has announced the landmark success of the inaugural edition of the National Youth Finance Pioneers (NYFP) programme, developed under its initiatives in partnership with First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) and with the support of the Ministry of Education (MoE), and held under the patronage of His Highness Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the programme embodies the vision of the UAE's leadership to empower Emirati youth to actively contribute to the nation's comprehensive and sustainable pioneering national initiative translates the country's agenda into tangible action by preparing a generation of capable, forward-thinking leaders ready to advance the future economy. Targeting high-achieving Emirati students in grades 11 and 12, the programme aligns with the strategic objectives of Education Interface, FAB, and the MoE in the areas of community empowerment, corporate social responsibility, national talent development, and enhancing the economic and professional readiness of the next programme's distinctive framework combined academic enrichment, leadership, and professional evaluation, and hands-on experience within a real banking was built upon a rigorous and data-driven selection and assessment process, beginning with a pre-nominated list of over 600 of the nation's top-performing students, referred by the MOE based on academic merit. Candidates then progressed through several qualitative evaluation stages, including:• An initial academic filter for students achieving averages above 95%, producing a shortlist of 400 candidates.• The NYFP Leadership and Sectoral Alignment Assessment, designed to identify students with a specific interest in the financial and banking sectors.• A comprehensive review of prior training experience, extracurricular achievements, and demonstrated maturity.• A strategic essay-based evaluation for the most committed and exceptional participants.• Leadership capacity and professional vision these stages, only 30 students—representing the nation's most prepared and capable future leaders—were selected. Their performance reflected an exceptional combination of academic intelligence, leadership presence, and professional distinguished participants received official certificates recognising their success in meeting the programme's high standards. In addition, they were granted exclusive access to a flexible training programme across FAB's branches, tailored to their NYFP stands as a pivotal step in cultivating the next generation of Emirati leaders in the financial sector, setting a benchmark for institutional collaboration between public and private entities, and strengthening youth participation in shaping a competitive, knowledge-based NYFP is more than a training programme—it is a national platform for developing high-calibre leaders capable of driving transformation and influencing the future of the financial landscape. Muscat - The gross domestic product (GDP) of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries at current prices reached $2.143 trillion in 2023, down 2.7 percent from $2.202.7 trillion at the end of 2022. Data released by the GCC Statistical Center showed that the value of disposable GDP (for consumption and savings after deducting taxes and other transfers) amounted to $1.989 trillion, compared to $2.515 trillion in 2022, a decrease of 3 percent. The total value added of the non-oil sector in the GCC countries by the end of 2023, at current prices, amounted to approximately $1.513 trillion, while the value added of the oil sector amounted to $603.5 billion. Data indicates that the non-oil sector's contribution to the Gulf's GDP at current prices rose to 71.5 percent by the end of 2023, compared to 65 percent by the end of 2022, with an annual growth rate of 6.4 percent. Mining and quarrying activities contributed the most to the GCC economy over the past five years, averaging 28.3 percent, while manufacturing activities contributed the most to GDP within the non-oil sector, averaging 11.7 percent. Most economic activities witnessed positive growth rates in 2023, with finance and insurance activities recording the highest growth at 11.7 percent, followed by transportation and storage at 11.6 percent, real estate activities at 8.1 percent, public administration and defense at 7.9 percent, wholesale and retail trade at 7.6 percent, and education at 5.5 percent. Meanwhile, mining and quarrying activities, in addition to the manufacturing industry, witnessed a decline of 18.8 percent and 0.7 percent, respectively. Regarding the components of spending on the Gulf's GDP at current prices, data from the Gulf Statistical Center indicates that the value of exports of goods and services reached approximately $1.258 trillion by the end of 2023, representing a contribution of 59.5 percent to the GDP at current prices, a decline of 7.1 percent. Final consumption expenditure (the total amount spent by households, non-profit organizations, and the government on purchasing goods and services to directly satisfy their needs and wants, without using them to produce other goods or services) reached US$1,245.6 trillion, with an annual growth rate of 7.5 percent.
