Notre Dame offers 4-star California WR Quentin Hale, who is one of the best nationally

Yahoo21 hours ago
One of the big reasons why Notre Dame has been able to shift its recruiting focus to the 2027 class, is due to the 2026 group being almost complete.
They are waiting on just one more prospect, defensive lineman Elijah Golden, who will make his announcement on Saturday and has been trending towards the Irish. There have been plenty of offers out to 2027 prospects, and on Thursday a new one was made to California wide receiver Quentin Hale.
The 6-foot, 3-inch and 175-pounder is one of the best players in the country, ranking as the No. 59 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite. August has been a great month for his so far, as he also picked up offers from Alabama and Georgia, while already having others from like Miami, Ohio State, Oregon and Oklahoma.
Hale had a huge sophomore season, with 63 receptions for 995-yards and 14 touchdowns. The Irish have done a much better job acquiring high school talent at the position, and could be adding yet another talented pass catcher to their roster.

Will Trae Young Stay With The Hawks? Breaking Down His Future In Atlanta

Will Trae Young Stay With The Hawks? Breaking Down His Future In Atlanta originally appeared on Fadeaway World. Trae Young may be locked in for now, but the league is watching closely. According to NBA Insider Shams Charania, several executives are monitoring Young's situation as he enters a pivotal stretch of his career. With a player option looming in 2026 and no extension signed yet, Young could become one of the most sought-after free agents on the market. "Executives in Las Vegas were closely watching and monitoring the future and status of Atlanta's Trae Young. He has two years left on his deal this upcoming season, but he has a player option in 2026," said Shams. "He can be a free agent next summer, and it's going to be a much more flush market in free agency coming up. This is a Hawks team that has made a ton of moves this offseason, and they can go several different directions. But the Hawks want to see how this team looks. Both Trae Young and Kristaps Porzingis are extension-eligible. Trae Young, by all accounts I'm told, is locked in; he's excited about this team. He really believes this team is as close to that team that made it to the ECF. He's excited, and I know once he gets into the season, he wants to focus on that season. So if there is no extension and we're into the regular season, I would not be surprised if he just waits until the 2026 summer before any decisions on his future." Young, 26, joined the Hawks in 2018 and was immediately tasked with leading the franchise back to relevance. Known for his elite shooting, flashy ball handling, and dynamic playmaking, he embraced the spotlight and carried championship expectations early. By his second season in the league, Young was an All-Star with averages of 29.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 9.3 assists per game on 43.7% shooting. In 2021, he led the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals during an impressive and unexpected run. But that deep playoff run remains the high point of his career. Since then, Atlanta has been stuck in mediocrity, and Young—once seen as a rising face of the league—has drifted out of the spotlight. After years of disappointing seasons, the team made an effort to change its situation this summer by adding Kristaps Porzingis, Nickeil Alexander‑Walker, Luke Kennard, and Caleb Houstan, among others. Now, Young believes the Hawks are in a position to have their best season yet. With a mix of veteran talent and trusted stars, they have their best roster in years and a team that's good enough to challenge the Eastern Conference juggernauts. The plan for the Hawks now is to let things play out and see what they have with the new-look roster. As for Young, he's got three primary options right now. First, he can break tradition and sign an extension during the season. It may be slightly out of character, but at least it would silence any notice about a potential departure. If the Hawks are hot, he may want contract security earlier. The most likely outcome? Young plays out his current deal, preserving his flexibility while giving the Hawks one last chance to prove they can contend so that he can either opt out or opt in to become a free agent within the next two years. This way, he can control his destiny and find a path that's best-suited for his success. Of course, he can also force his way out via trade if he really wants. For now, at least, it seems like he's fully bought into his mission in Atlanta. The next few months will be critical, not just for Atlanta's playoff hopes, but for their future with Trae Young. He may be locked in now, but if this season fails to deliver real progress, don't be surprised if his name resurfaces in trade talks or free agency buzz. One way or another, the clock is ticking in story was originally reported by Fadeaway World on Jul 18, 2025, where it first appeared.

Trae Young Reportedly Frustrated With Hawks Over Lack Of Extension Offer

Trae Young Reportedly Frustrated With Hawks Over Lack Of Extension Offer originally appeared on Fadeaway World. Trae Young may be headed into a pivotal year with the Atlanta Hawks, but not for the reasons fans were expecting. According to NBA insider Marc J. Spears, the 4x All-Star is frustrated with the team's front office after not receiving an extension offer this summer, despite being eligible for a four-year, $229 million max deal. 'There's a new front office in Atlanta that's trying to make decisions,' Spears said on NBA Today. 'But what I'm hearing now at this point, and you could tell by Trae's tweet, I think he's disappointed it hasn't been offered. So don't be surprised at this point if he plays it out and sees what happens next summer.' With a year left before he can opt out, Young is now entering the 2025-26 season with a growing sense of uncertainty, and it could spell trouble for a Hawks team still trying to define its identity in the Eastern Conference. Young currently has just two years left on his contract, worth $94 million. With the 2026-27 campaign being a player option, he can opt out and become a free agent as soon as next summer. In Trae's mind, of course, he's worth a lifetime commitment from the Hawks and believes that he should have been offered a new, max-level contract weeks ago. With averages of 24.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 11.6 assists per game last season, Young is the face of the Hawks and their most important player by far. Even as the team has gotten younger with guys like Zaccharie Risacher, Dyson Daniels, and Jalen Johnson, Trae Young has been carrying the Hawks and setting the pace offensively since he was drafted in 2018. Unfortunately, besides a run to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021, the Hawks have been mostly unsuccessful during Young's tenure. Last season, they finished 8th in the East at 40-42. In the 2023-24 campaign? They were even worse at 10th in the standings (a measly 36-46 record). The good news for the Hawks is that their new, revamped roster should help them return to contention next season. The most important addition was big man sharpshooter and NBA champion, Kristaps Porzingis. His size, experience, and ability to stretch the floor will be huge for Atlanta, and Young will only make things easier for him with his elite playmaking ability. That's not even accounting for the growth and development of the young players, who should take a major leap next season. With their recent failures, it's possible that the Hawks want to see how this next season plays out before committing any more time and money to Trae. Unlike past seasons, the Hawks may finally have the depth to move forward without Young if needed. If they don't feel like they can succeed with Young, they may not be interested in extending his contract. Of course, they may not have a choice now, regardless. Young reportedly views the lack of an offer as a sign of disrespect, and he may decide to become a free agent (or force a trade) now that the Hawks have shown some doubts about his leadership abilities. Now, with no extension on the table, all eyes are on how Trae Young responds. Whether it's a prove-it year that elevates the Hawks back into playoff relevance or a final run before testing free agency, the stakes have never been higher. If Atlanta doesn't move quickly, they could be facing the very real possibility of losing their franchise player, and once he walks, there's no guarantee he comes story was originally reported by Fadeaway World on Aug 5, 2025, where it first appeared.

Lions CB Morice Norris is in stable condition after being taken off field in ambulance vs. Falcons as teams let clock run

Detroit Lions cornerback Morice Norris was taken off the field in an ambulance after an apparent head injury during a preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons on Friday night. Following the injury, which took place early in the fourth quarter, both teams chose to let the clock run out before the referees announced that the game was suspended with 6:31 remaining. The Lions later announced that Norris was in stable condition with "feeling and movement in all his extremities" and would remain at an Atlanta hospital for further evaluation. Norris went down hard on a tackle after his head appeared to hit the leg of Falcons running back Nathan Carter at the 14:50 mark. Norris was tended to for about 20 minutes before an ambulance came onto the field to take him off. Athletic trainers and medical personnel stabilized Norris on the field, put him on a backboard and braced his head and neck, before loading him into the ambulance. Campbell gathered the entire team as Norris was taken off. Detroit and Atlanta then let the clock run. The players on the Falcons' offense and Lions' defense stood in a circle with their heads bowed before the referees called the game to an early end. The officials cited the league in the decision to finish the game before the clock had expired the rest of the way: "Per New York, this game is suspended," the head referee said, with 6:31 left in the fourth quarter. The Lions won the game, 17-10. After the game, Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said on the broadcast that it was a mutual decision to end the game. "It was common ground, common courtesy. Didn't like the look of [the injury]," Morris said. "I thought that was the right thing to do." After giving an update on Norris' condition, Campbell said he was praying for the young defensive back. "Something like that happens, it puts things in perspective," Campbell said. This is Norris' second season with the Lions. The cornerback signed with the team last year after going undrafted out of Fresno State. He played in two games last season.
