These Are The Best Travel Toiletry Bags To Keep Essentials Organized
I scoured the market for the best travel toiletry bags to keep essentials like shampoo, moisturizers ... More and more in place. Illustration: Forbes / Images: Retailer
To finalize my list of the best travel toiletry bags, I spoke with Jessica Morrobel of Traveling With Jessica, who has journeyed with many of the toiletry bags on this list. 'Toiletry bags don't get nearly enough credit,' she says. 'Having everything accessible and contained while on the go is essential.' I also researched top sellers from well-known travel and accessory brands, focusing on storage capacity, durability, ease of use and unique design features. Below, my selections for the best travel toiletry bags of 2025. Our Top Recommendations
Best Large Travel Toiletry Bag: Away The Large Toiletry Bag
Best Hanging Travel Toiletry Bag : Aer Travel Kit 2
Best Clear Travel Toiletry Bag: Calpak Small Clear Cosmetics Case
Best Travel Toiletry Bag For Organization: Peak Design Wash Pouch
Most Stylish Travel Toiletry Bag: MZ Wallace Metro Accordian Cosmetic
Dimensions: 9.75 x 11.5 x 3.5 inches | Capacity: 6 liters | Materials: Nylon packcloth | Colors: 9 total
Best for: Affordable
Durable and water-resistant
Skip if: You're looking for something more stylish
If you're seeking a durable, utility-focused bag, this classic from L.L.Bean is a great option. It checks a lot of boxes at once: It's water-resistant, has ample storage and smart organization compartments, features hinged design for easy access, and is affordable. The built-in hook is handy, especially if you're staying in small spaces with limited bathroom space, plus its shower caddy safely stows your bottles as you bathe. It comes in a wide variety of colors and in three sizes; I like the medium for a long trip, while the large size—which has an impressive 9-liter capacity—is great for family travel.
Dimensions: 10.2 x 3.7 x 5.9 inches | Weight: 8.8 ounces | Capacity: 3.6L | Materials: Nylon| Colors: 3 total
Best for: Longer trips
Water-repellent exterior
Many compartments, including a zipped central pocket
Skip if:
Away's Large Toiletry Bag is a personal favorite of mine that I've brought with me on longer trips. It's made from a water-repellent nylon that's easy to wipe down, and its interior is also coated in a wipeable material should any spills happen. For organization, it has multiple interior compartments, including a central zipped compartment that can hold larger items. Morrobel has traveled with this toiletry bag multiple times and is also a fan: 'It's sturdy, easy to clean and the internal pockets help me separate skincare from haircare," she says. "I also love that it sits flat when open, which makes things feel less chaotic when I'm getting ready in unfamiliar spaces.' Take note: This is a larger toiletry bag than others on this list, so expect it to take up more room in your suitcase.
Dimensions: 9 x 6.5 x 3 inches | Capacity: 2.5 liters | Materials: 700D Cordura | Colors: 3 total
Best for: Hanging option
Slim profile
Anti-microbial lining
Skip if: You don't need that many pockets
If you're sharing a hotel room with a friend or spouse, the Aer Travel Kit 2 will ensure that no one will be fighting over counter space. It has an ultra-slim profile, but there's room to store a lot more than you'd expect at first glance. While our top overall L.L. Bean pick also has the ability to hang, this toiletry bag has more features: Its top half is wider and can hold more items, and there are more compartments to keep your essentials organized, like an exterior toothbrush holder, zippered pockets and elastic bands designed to secure travel-sized bottles. Another bonus: Its interior is treated with an anti-microbial lining the keep mildew at bay, and the durable Cordura exterior is easy to rinse off and air dry if needed.
Dimensions: 8.25 x 6 x 4 inches | Capacity: 2.5 liters | Materials: Cordura | Colors: 3 total
Best for: Clear exterior
Handle for easy carrying
Compact
Skip if: You need interior pockets
'I love a clear toiletry bag that allows me to see everything at a glance,' says Morrobel, who names the Calpak Clear Cosmetics Case as the pick she travels with most. Made from a transparent Cordura fabric, this bag's exterior can be deceiving: It may seem flimsy and plastic-like at first glance, but its material is surprisingly durable. While it doesn't have as many pockets as other options on this list, it does feature two zippered compartments and a smaller, zippered mesh pocket for organization. Its most winning feature, of course, is its transparency that allows you to reach for exactly what you need without having to dig around or remember where you stashed it. I like the small version, as it's the easiest to fit into a small carry-on bag, but it's also available in medium or large sizes.
Dimensions: 10.2 x 6 x 4.4 inches | Capacity: 2.5 liters | Materials: 100% recycled weatherproof 200D nylon | Colors: 3 total
Best for: Compact silhouette
Magnetic toothbrush pocket
Removable and washable liner
Skip if:
For those who are traveling with different types of toiletries, this pick from Peak Design is a great solution. The Wash Pouch has a compact silhouette, although once you zip it open, you'll discover an array of organization options to stow your toiletries including a magnetic toothbrush pocket—plus, a removable liner that's washable. The silicone-coated mesh pockets are handy, as are the large main sections with slots to keep bottles in place and the smaller exterior pockets for easy accessibility. It has an aluminum hook that lets you hang your pouch just about anywhere, but several reviewers say the hook is a little shallow, causing the bag to slip off pretty easily. If a hanging toiletry bag is your primary need, go with the Aer Travel Kit 2 instead.
Dimensions: 7.48 x 4.33 x 4.33 inches | Capacity: Not listed | Materials: Bluesign-approved REC Oxford | Colors: 2 total
Best for: Stylish design
Many compartments and zippered pockets
Water-resistant fabric
Skip if: You're on a budget—this is one of the more expensive options on our list
A travel toiletry bag needs to be durable, but that's doesn't mean it can't be stylish. I'm a fan of MZ Wallace's Metro Accordian Cosmetic, which hits both marks. It's made of the brand's proprietary fabric blend, REC Oxford, which is a recycled, chemical-free textile that is water-resistant and easy to clean. Its quilted exterior and box-like silhouette has an elevated look and can easily double as a handbag for a night out, especially since it's built with a comfortable handle that makes it easy to move around your hotel room. For organization, it unzips to reveal five accordian-style compartments for toiletries, makeup and more. The black Italian leather trim and matte black zippers amp up the style points, so you can look good and store a lot simultaneously.

10 Super Discounted Travel Essentials We Found Hiding in Amazon's Secret Outlet Store—All for $10 or Less
You could be missing out on some of the best deals on the internet if you don't know about the secret Amazon Outlet Store, where hundreds of items—including scores of travel accessories—are $10 or less. The virtual storefront is a little-known hotspot for overstocked and out-of-season items selling for next to nothing. You can find major markdowns on everything from clothing and personal care needs to electronics and in-flight essentials. Below, we found a fan-favorite electronics organizer, a selfie stick that doubles as a tripod, and a pack of cases to keep your makeup sponges clean in your toiletry bag. We also found a chic crochet swimsuit cover-up for half off. Read on for 10 of the best travel deals at the Amazon Outlet, all for $10 and under. If you're planning on snorkeling, hiking, kayaking, or just lounging on the beach in the foreseeable future, you might want this waterproof pouch to keep your phone safe from water damage. Reviewers have hiked through deep water in The Narrows of Zion National Park with this $10 case, maintaining a dry phone the entire time. Some people even submerged their devices while snorkeling and reported no leaks (we say test it with a paper towel before giving that a try, though!). You don't realize how essential a sleep mask is until one offers you the best plane nap of your life. This comfortable mask is made with memory foam eye cups that keep the material elevated off your lids. Reviewers verify the brand's claim that the mask blocks 100 percent of light, so you can slip into pure darkness and effectively drift off to sleep even when your seatmate won't close the window shade. It costs only $8 to feel fresh and well-rested when you arrive at your destination. As you read this in the dog days of summer, it's not too late to grab portable heat relief in the form of this handheld fan. It stands upright, folds at a 90-degree angle, and can hang from a lanyard, so you can wear it around your neck or set it just about anywhere. The fan runs on a 4,000-mAh battery that charges via a USB-C cable. Leave it plugged in on the nightstand in your hotel room to feel the gentle breeze in your face all night, just like at home. The FYY electronics organizer is a longtime frontrunner in the travel tech accessory department, with more than 22,000 ratings and 1,000 items purchased every month. Primarily, people are drawn to the many pockets. The front compartment has six slots in different sizes for cables, headphone cases, and power banks. The back compartment contains two additional mesh pockets for bigger devices like phones and external hard drives. Everything stays organized and protected in the padded, waterproof case. For when your reusable toiletry bottles are due for an upgrade, the Amazon Outlet has several options for their replacement. This pack of four is the No. 1 best-seller, with more than 6,000 five-star ratings. Reviewers write that the silicone bottles are the perfect size (3 ounces), easy to squeeze, long-lasting, and totally leak-proof. The $10 set comes with a TSA-friendly clear bag to store everything inside. With the wide-angle lens that most smartphones have today, the selfie stick has lost some of its allure. But it's still a handy gadget to have if you're traveling solo or with an older device. Even more useful, this selfie stick folds out into a full-size tripod for non-selfie shots and group photos. Its coolest feature is the wireless remote that allows you to take pictures from up to 33 feet away. The stick packs down to a carry-on-friendly 12 inches. This collapsible silicone coffee dripper is a nifty thing to take camping or even to pack for a hotel stay. Plenty of hotels have an adequate protocol when it comes to cleaning the in-room coffee machines, but there are also many that neglect their Keurigs to the point that they start growing mold and invisible bacteria. There are too many hotel coffee maker horror stories out there. Don't Google them; buy your own $6 reusable filter instead for fresh coffee every time. One of the best deals at the outlet right now is this breezy beach dress. The crochet swimsuit cover-up is on sale for just $10, half off the regular price. The minidress has a button-up V-neck, slouchy sleeves, and an elastic waistband. One reviewer said they even wore it to dinner with a slip underneath and got compliments saying they looked like they 'just stepped off a yacht.' If you travel for concerts or think you might squeeze in a Major League Baseball game on your next trip, this clear sling could come in handy. A transparent bag is likely to slip your mind when packing, but it'll make getting through security for a big event much easier—sometimes, it's even a requirement. This bag is 8.5 by 5.5 inches with an adjustable strap and an extra front compartment for comfort and convenience. These containers are designed to keep your beauty blender shielded from the germs inside your makeup bag. The silicone cases are soft and flexible, with slits on both sides to allow your sponge to breathe and dry out. When they retain moisture, that's when they develop bacteria. The flexible material means they fit a wide range of shapes and sizes. Love a great deal? Sign up for our T+L Recommends newsletter and we'll send you our favorite travel products each week.

As a Former Lululemon Employee, I Can't Pass Up These Are 12 Comfy Styles From Its Summer Clothing Section
Even though I left my job as a Lululemon store educator to become a travel writer years ago, my uniform is still the brand's comfy, versatile athleisure-inspired clothes. As a travel writer who visits around 10 countries per year, I still rely on Lululemon for much of my wardrobe—the difference now is that I pay full price and have to wait patiently for new product drops. In between trips to Kenya and Poland, I recently curled up on the couch and mined the Lululemon Summer Clothes collection. With more than 500 items available, it's the mother lode of athleisure apparel and accessories designed to keep you cool, comfortable, and looking cute, even during the hottest days of summer. Below are my 12 favorite travel-friendly clothes from this collection that I either currently own or have in my shopping cart. They range from reversible tank tops made of abrasion-resistant mesh that will hold up to frequent wear to ruched running shorts that almost make me want to sign up for a marathon. (Key word: almost .) Organic cotton is not necessarily softer than regular cotton, but it's definitely better for the environment (think no pesticides), so I'm willing to shell out more for it. I love this particular organic cotton crewneck because it has a touch of Lycra elastane—just enough for comfy four-way stretch. Plus, it helps the shirt retain its shape, even after wearing it throughout the course of a long day. It's not cheap for a tee, but it's a staple you'll wear enough to justify the cost, and it holds up wash after wash. 'I look elsewhere, but I always come back for more,' wrote one shopper. This Align High-rise Skirt is inspired by my favorite Lululemon jogger, so I know that it's made for comfortable movement. It features Lululemon's signature Nulu fabric, which is equal parts sweat-wicking and soft (I'm talking as soft as a rose petal). It's available in two lengths, 13-inch and 15-inch, which both come with a built-in liner. This Lululemon skirt has more than 930 five-star ratings, and one satisfied shopper who wore it on vacation described it as 'flattering for all ages and many body types.' I saw Hozier play at the Billings MetraPark a few weeks ago and am looking forward to watching the Yankees end their losing streak in the Bronx, so I'm currently getting a lot of use out of this iteration of the best-selling Everywhere Belt Bag. In my opinion, it's a must-have accessory for anyone planning on attending major events in stadiums, arenas, and other venues with a clear bag only mandate. The bag is made of 100 percent thermoplastic polyurethane, so it's water-resistant and pretty close to being puncture-proof. And with one liter of space, it's pretty roomy. 'I can fit a portable charger, cable, sanitizer, mini wipes, and my phone,' wrote one shopper. What more could you need? For a base layer, this Lululemon racerback tank top turns heads because of its unique design. The straps are slightly thicker than spaghetti straps (I call them linguine straps). Meanwhile, the extra-wide racerback offers more coverage than is typical for this style. It's made of modal, a wood-based fabric that absorbs 50 percent more moisture than cotton and feels like a second skin. 'Softest tank imaginable' is the title of one five-star review left by a shopper who says they are sensitive to fabrics and textures. Made of the same buttery-soft Nulu fabric as other items in Lululemon's Align collection, this athletic dress is lightweight, sweat-wicking, and features four-way stretch for an item you can wear for yoga class or on a long walking tour. It's available in five neutral colors that will be easy to mix and match with shoes and accessories in your suitcase. Shoppers also love that the built-in shorts have an open-back waist so you can easily slide them on and off when you need to use the bathroom. Between their flowy fit, gorgeous summery hues, and comfortable material, these running shorts are stylish and functional. The built-in brief liner is not only ultra sweat-wicking, but it also has a sleeve where you can hide a credit card or keys. Plus, they're comfortable, whether you're running in them or simply relaxing in them. 'No digging in or anything,' wrote one shopper who wore them on a seven-hour road trip and ended their five-star review with 'Definitely buying more colors.' Lululemon, if you're reading this, please make more pointelle pieces! This short-sleeve shirt's delicate open-hole stitching ('pointelle' comes from the French word for lace) adds a touch of femininity—and a ton of breathability. I can see myself sporting it on sweltering hot summer days, whether I'm sightseeing on Singapore's cosmopolitan streets or walking my dog here in suburbia. The fabric is ultra moisture-wicking and treated with Lululemon's signature Silverescent technology, so if I sweat, I won't be left sticky and uncomfortable. This contemporary take on a traditional tennis skirt makes me want to dust off the racket in my garage and start practicing my serve. The knee-length skirt features a 6-inch liner with oversized drop-in pockets big enough to fit both a tennis ball and your phone. (Most built-in liners are 4 inches or shorter, so this one is a total game-changer—maybe literally if you wear them for a match!) Of course, the pleats make a noticeable fashion statement and allow it to transition from court to brunch. 'Super versatile, breathable, and cute!' wrote one shopper. I love that Lululemon is making more middle ground shorts for shoppers like me who want something a little bit longer than a 2- or 2.5-inch inseam. The side ruched detail on these workout-ready shorts is both fashionable and functional. Meanwhile, the slightly curved hem adds some femininity to the look. As with most of Lululemon's active shorts, these feature a built-in liner, complete with a hidden card pocket. 'Will definitely be stocking up on these!' wrote one shopper who said the extra thigh room and high-rise fit made them feel 'so comfy and secure.' This retro-looking tank top lets me relive my middle school basketball glory days without having to run lines. It's made of an abrasion-resistant mesh that will hold up over time, and it's so breathable that it won't add any extra weight even on a hot day. And despite its lightweight design, the mesh is double-layered, so it's not too revealing, while the reversible style gives you two options in one shirt. Whether your lifetime sport of choice is golf, pickleball, or tennis, you can't go wrong wearing this sweat-wicking collared shirt. It's elegant, and the jacquard texture whispers, 'I'm both luxurious and durable.' Of course, in addition to its style, it's also a technical top, so it'll be functional for an active day. Think slits on the side that increase your range of motion, and fabric treated with the brand's 'No-Stink Zinc' that keeps odor-causing bacteria at bay. 'Best polo ever,' summed up one satisfied shopper. I wear a lot of spaghetti strap dresses in the summer, so I'm on cloud nine that my favorite bra from Lululemon now comes with thin single straps (the OG Like a Cloud Bra—which has more than 1,300 five-star ratings—features thicker, double straps). Besides the comfortable plush cushioning, my favorite thing about this bra is that it doesn't come with removable pads I have to mess with. 'Looks great under a tank or T-shirt,' wrote one happy shopper who found it also 'holds its shape after a tumble in the dryer.' Love a great deal?
