'One-of-a-kind' motorbike ride to start at historic Somerset prison
On Friday, June 6, Cruise4Crews will hit the road in support of YFW Blood Bikes.
The event will begin at 10am outside Shepton Mallet Prison, renowned as the world's oldest and most haunted prison.
A team of motorcyclists will gather at the iconic gates, ahead of their cross-country journey.
Visitors and motorbike enthusiasts will have the chance to check out the impressive line-up of bikes – a perfect opportunity to admire the machines and chat with riders.
However, the ride is just one part of the adventure.
Upon arrival at Shrewsbury Prison, the riders will face a Night Behind Bars, a chilling overnight stay in prison, an attraction also available at Shepton Mallet Prison, before departing the following morning.

"Cruise4Crews was started by a bunch of bikers who wanted to find ways to combine our love of motorcycling with raising money for charities," said one of the Cruise4Crews riders, Mike Matthews.
"A few of us who worked together got chatting and began coming up with silly ideas and fun ways to make bike rides about more than just heading to the seaside for an ice cream or admiring our shiny bikes."
"A plan was hatched to approach both Shepton Mallet Prison and Shrewsbury Prison about organising a ride-out from one to the other, complete with an overnight stay in a haunted prison.
"We'd previously arranged a 'Ride and Stay' but then Covid hit, and sadly, we could no longer carry out this amazing charity ride."
"Still, I didn't want to give up on such a unique way to raise much-needed funds for the incredible volunteers of Blood Bikes.
"So I reached out again, and after much help and support from local companies and Cove Attractions, we're thrilled that this one-of-a-kind ride-out, Prison Bike, is finally going ahead!"
A spokesperson for Cruise4Crews said there are still a few places left for those who would like to take part.

After rowdy youth disrupt Movie Mondays, Erie Downtown Partnership cancels remaining films
The Erie Downtown Partnership has canceled its weekly Movie Mondays in Perry Square in the wake of two large disturbances at the event in June and July involving large groups of local youth. Calling the move a 'difficult decision,' the Downtown Partnership on July 26 announced the cancellation of the three remaining Movie Mondays dates on its Facebook page. The free event, which features family-friendly movies, takes place in Perry Square. 'Despite great efforts to increase security, the events have become an attraction for escalating disruptive and dangerous behavior and cancelling the series seems to be our only path forward to ensure Downtown and Perry Square remain safe for everyone,' the Facebook post states. 'Though we explored a change in location and/or operations with several different partners, no such changes were feasible within our downtown district this late in the season.' The Downtown Partnership also thanked its event sponsors and partners. The nonprofit's Facebook post had been viewed more than 1,100 times and had been shared more than 300 times as of July 28. The event features family-friendly movies cancellations include scheduled showings of 'Muppet Treasure Island' on July 28, 'The Avengers' on Aug. 11 and 'Wicked' on Aug. 25. What prompted this decision? The first incident at Movie Mondays took place June 16, during a screening of 'The Incredibles.' Children and adults had gathered in the west side of the downtown Erie park to watch the film when, according to Erie police, a crowd of up to 150 juveniles showed up. Police said members of the group were running around, standing in the roadway and blocking traffic, and being loud and disruptive. Officers were called to the area and ushered the group to the east park at Perry Square, where they eventually dispersed, police said. Roughly 30 minutes later, a large group returned and another disturbance broke out, including a few fights, police said. The movie ended about 10 minutes early and one person was charged with disorderly conduct, police said. Another disturbance involving a large group of 'rowdy' youths broke out at Perry Square and created disruptions during the Movie Mondays screening of 'Moana'on July 14, Erie Police Chief Dan Spizarny said. Police knew about the cancellation of the remaining Movie Mondays before the Downtown Partnership announced it publicly, Spizarny said. 'We stayed in regular contact with (the Downtown Partnership) about this since the first disturbance,' Spizarny said. 'We tried some different things, like extra officers and they had private security. But the amount of kids coming down and disrupting the event was just unmanageable, unfortunately.' Spizarny said large groups of youths 'showed up unescorted and they were not there for the movie. They would run around chasing each other and next thing you know someone would be in a fight. Then multiple fights would break out.' 'Complex issues' Following the June 16 Movie Mondays disturbance, the Downtown Partnership posted on Facebook that the incident was 'in direct conflict with the organization's mission of creating a safe, fun and welcoming downtown. 'We recognize that this incident prompts several other concerns: What need is being overlooked among the youth of our community that may result in these actions? What are we lacking in Erie in terms of a safe third space for these teens to gather without incident? How can we collaborate with our community partners to meet that need?' the organization previously stated on Facebook. "These are complex issues, but Erie Downtown Partnership is committed to contributing to a solution that works to address these needs and creates a better downtown experience for all.' Antony Starr Says Goodbye to ‘The Boys' in Emotional Instagram Tribute
Antony Starr has officially hung up his Homelander cape. The actor took to Instagram on Wednesday, August 13, to commemorate the end of filming of The Boys' fifth and final season. 'Ok. Been waiting a little to let things settle and try and process the end of this show. The Boys,' Starr began his lengthy caption. 'Difficult (for me) to put into words what an incredible ride this has been. How much life and growth has occurred. How amazing the team is. It's truly been the highlight of my career.' Starr said he 'had no idea what was coming' when the Prime Video superhero series premiered back in 2019. 'This juggernaut left the station and never stopped. Except for that Covid moment. Oh and the strikes. That was a thing too,' he quipped. 'But apart from those two times, it never stopped, boldly making its mark on the television landscape. There's nothing else like it. It lives in its own lane.' Starr went on to thank the show's crew, production team, and his fellow castmates. 'The people at Amazon and Sony that took a chance on this insane thing (and made the great choice in casting me ) and all the other people that contributed in some way, big or small, to this beautiful, complex, warped, delicious show,' he wrote. Starr continued, 'I love this show. And I love this character. Truly. I will dearly miss heading to work, knowing what we were aiming for but never knowing where we would find ourselves by the end of the day…only that we would have fun and it would be creatively rewarding in the extreme. This complicated character allowed the space and range to discover and push boundaries in a way I never expected and I will always be grateful for this experience.'
