Bugis is known for being a dynamic hub that connects the historic Civic District with the busy CBD, and MUJI Bugis Junction has since grown alongside the precinct's transformation in its prime location.
From its early days where it was a compact retail space to now, a lifestyle destination with double the assortment of daily necessities across categories such as household items, stationery, home organisation tools, travel essentials, and apparel. Seeing Bugis evolve into a crossroads of culture, commerce and community, MUJI Bugis Junction has also kept pace with the shifting needs of its visitors by providing an expanded space to allow a deeper connection with the district's wide-ranging demographic, from office professionals and tertiary students to tourists and families.
This new expansion is a response to how customers' needs and lifestyles have evolved — providing more space, more choices and a refreshed experience that well reflects the simplicity, functionality and thoughtfulness of what MUJI stands for. To celebrate the re-opening, MUJI Bugis Junction is offering you a chance to get first dibs on a brand new colour of the Lap Desk Cushion ($59). Available now in Grey Beige/Brown, this cushion turns your lap into an instant, comfortable workspace that is ideal for working, reading, or relaxing on your sofa or bed.
Filled with soft polystyrene beads, the cushion helps to ensure comfort during extended use, and its compact packaging makes it easy to carry on-the-go. Plus, the cover is machine-washable so you don't have to worry about cleaning it when it gets dirty!
If you're seeking a new type of skincare to try, MUJI Bugis Junction is where you'll find MUJI's latest launch — the Booster Essence Lotion and Serum. Video courtesy of MUJI Singapore.
These new skincare products are made using fermented rice extract, a moisturising ingredient developed exclusively by MUJI, that come from rice bran produced in the Yamagata Prefecture in Japan, and contains 7 kinds of vitamins and 8 types of minerals.
Why rice bran? It is a nutrient-rich layer that is removed when brown rice is polished into white rice. MUJI has harnessed its natural benefits through a gentle yeast fermentation process to create rice bran ferment filtrate — a moisturising, fast-absorbing ingredient that leaves skin feeling firm, hydrated, and smooth.
The formulation is alcohol-free to ensure gentleness for all skin types and is achieved through refining the fermentation process to carefully remove alcohol after fermentation.
MUJI has also embraced zero-waste innovation by using rice bran oil and yeast extract from the remaining material, to ensure that they make the most out of every grain. Image courtesy of MUJI Singapore.
The Booster Serum ($20.90, 50ml), a crowd favourite in MUJI Japan, is formulated with over 65% fermented rice bran extract. Renowned for delivering deep moisture and improving skin's firmness, the serum also has a thick, viscous texture that makes it ideal for dry and sensitive skin types, or anyone who prefers a rich, deep moisturising feel.
Designed to enhance skin hydration and softness, the Booster Essence Lotion ($5.90, 30ml | $16.90, 300ml) is a lightweight booster essence lotion that is perfect for softening rough or dry skin to leave your complexion feeling plum, smooth, and deeply hydrated. It is also formulated for quick absorption — ideal for those with oily to oily-dry combination skin types, or those who prefer a light, refreshing texture.
You are recommended to use either products (based on your skin type) before applying toning water. This helps to prep your skin to allow moisturising ingredients to be absorbed more easily into the stratum corneum — to leave your skin feeling bouncy, smooth and firm.
Both products are also free from six types of harsh chemicals namely synthetic fragrance, colouring, mineral oil, paragons, alcohol, and phenoxyethanol.
In addition to the new product launch, you can also enjoy exclusive opening special deals only available at MUJI Bugis Junction from 22 to 25 May. Here's a look at what you can expect to find.

Celtics' Jayson Tatum Still Receiving Major Criticism Despite Achilles Injury

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Boston Celtics star forward Jayson Tatum is one of the best players in the NBA today. Yet for some reason, he gets an overwhelming amount of criticism from both fans and media members. More NBA news: Lakers' Luka Doncic to Join LeBron James, Steve Nash on Podcast Tatum has helped the Celtics get to two NBA Finals, winning one of them, and he has come up big for his team countless times in the playoffs. Star players also will receive criticism, but with Tatum, it feels a little different at times. One of his bigger critics is FS1 analyst Colin Cowherd, who has gone after him multiple times in the past. Cowherd recently weighed in on Tatum again, questioning the Celtics star in comparison to Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Cowherd said that everything people say Tatum does, Gilgeous-Alexander does better and with more consistency. "The many things I like about SGA [Shai Gilgeous-Alexander] is that he is delivering and fulfilling everything I've been told Jayson Tatum does," said Cowherd. "Last year, the Celtics go on their championship run, Jaylen Brown is the MVP of the Eastern Conference Finals and the Finals MVP, and Jaylen Brown is often the aggressor and the initiator. SGA wants the ball and is always the aggressor and he has multiple great players around him, but he is clearly the alpha, and that's all I ever ask with Tatum and got push back. I'm holding Jayson Tatum to the standard you guys all lectured me on with years on LeBron [James]." The idea that Tatum is being held to the same standard as LeBron James, who is widely seen as one of the Greatest of All Time, shows exactly how good he is. More NBA news: Top 5 Landing Spots For Kevin Durant Amid Trade Rumors The biggest criticism against Tatum is that he hasn't performed overly well in the NBA Finals once the Celtics have gotten there. Before the Achilles injury this year, Tatum was stellar in the playoffs, averaging 28.1 points per game, 11.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 2.1 steals. The Celtics are very happy to have Tatum on the roster, and he will continue to be the face of the franchise for many years following his Achilles recovery.
