Shameless fans buzzing as East Lancashire star make hilarious TikTok debut

Shameless fans are celebrating after one of the show's most iconic stars, Alice Barry, made her hilarious debut on TikTok.
The Burnley actress is known for playing Lillian Tyler, a fan-favourite character who owned a brothel on Shameless' Chatsworth estate.
Alice's first video has, at the time of writing, amassed more than 500,000 views. In it, she gets into the character of Lillian as she gets 'set up on TikTok'.
In the video the former St Mary Magdalene's RC Primary School pupil said: 'TikTok!? We aren't going to get any money out of TikTok. I thought it was OnlyFans.'
As well as skits, she has also answered questions left by fans.
One TikTok user asked her how she landed the Shameless job.
Alice, who still lives in Burnley, said: 'When I went for the audition, it was for a nun. We did the audition and it went well.
'Paul Abbott [creator of Shameless] said 'you were very good but you haven't got the part... but I would like you to come in on Shameless as Lillian, I think you'd be alright'.'

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, Alice said she was surprised that her TikTok account amassed more than 41,000 followers.
She said: 'I had been asked to join TikTok for a long while now and I said no – eventually I gave in and said I would give it a go.
'I didn't realise that I now have more than 41,000 followers I did not expect to get that many followers.
'All of the comments have been so nice, telling me I haven't changed one bit [since starring in Shameless]. Another said I am the Queen of TikTok and Queen of Shameless.
'I can easily get back into the character of Lillian at any moment.'
Alice, a former Coal Clough Secondary School pupil, said it's great that so many people still love the Channel 4 show despite ending in 2013, adding that it may have garnered a younger fanbase since being added to Netflix.
Alice, who grew up in Haslam Street in Gannow Top, has promised fans more Shameless content and skits in the future.
She said: 'It is still on and people are still watching it on Netflix. It's great that the show still has such a strong fan base.
'Wherever I go people still recognise me. If I go for a night out, people still want photographs, which I don't mind.
'I was on Shameless for all of those years, and it was a really good experience.'
As well as TikTok, Alice has also launched a Cameo page, where fans can request personalised video messages.
Alice, who is in her 70s, said she also has meet and greets planned, including one on June 28 at The Heartbeat Vehicle Rally in Goathland.
She said: 'I already have four gigs on Cameo [and I think that is because of] TikTok – they keep coming in.'

LOS ANGELES CELEBRATES 50 INSPIRING ANGELENOS WHO UPLIFT AND ADVANCE THE COMMUNITY IN ESSENTIAL WAYS Playwright, filmmaker and actor; he/him What projects or accomplishments are you most proud of?The Four Seasons (Netflix.) It is my return to acting after 15 years, something I wasn't really chasing nor even dreaming of. I'm proud I was able to put my fears aside and accept this enormous gift that came my way. Working with such amazing talents has been one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, not just professionally. It has changed my approach to the creative work in general and to life about The Four Seasons' Los Angeles premiere here. [Secondly,] my first feature film, High Tide, which I wrote, directed and produced (currently available on demand on Amazon Prime and Apple TV+.) I've been a gay man all my life and a storyteller for most of it, and yet I had never put queer characters at the center of my stories before. Bringing this film to life somehow ended up healing me from my own internalized homophobia. I was born and raised in a very Catholic country and conservative family, and I'd been carrying it with me for so long without even knowing. [Also], my marriage to Marco Pigossi. He is a wonderful man and such a gifted artist. I'm so incredibly happy to be on this journey with him. We've been together for five years now and we've built so much together: a home, a family, a film. We think of High Tide (of which he is the protagonist and the heart) as our first baby; the first one of many! Who from L.A.'s LGBTQ+ community has inspired you? The workers and the volunteers of the LGBTQ Center. I happened to volunteer a few times for the center and to witness their commitment and dedication was just amazing. They filled me with gratitude. The trans community. They are — and always have been — a rare and true example of resilience, an inspiration to always fight back no matter the consequences and [are] an ally in any circumstances. Mickey Liddell and Pete Shilaimon (theater and film producers) and Colman and Raul Domingo (also producers, on top of the obvious!). Both couples are friends of mine and have been together for at least two decades. Their relationships are a true collaboration — both personally and professionally — and that's been tremendously encouraging. They exemplify what success in life really means to me. What does Pride mean to you, and why is it important to celebrate? It is a public platform to embrace myself and celebrate the truth of who I am — despite all the hatred, the fear, the doubt. Most importantly, it is an opportunity to be or become a political body and send a message of union to the authorities and the institutions [and] to fight for equality with the support of the community. Our message is filled with love and joy, with passion and enthusiasm. It is also an invitation to remember and honor all the ones who came before us and fought for our all 50 LGBTQ+ Angelenos making an impact. This story was originally reported by L.A. ‘Wheel of Fortune's Vanna White Delights Fans With Photo of ‘Stud' Son Nikko

'Wheel of Fortune's Vanna White Delights Fans With Photo of 'Stud' Son Nikko originally appeared on Parade. Vanna White wished her son, Nikko, whose real name is Nicholas Santo Pietro, a happy 31st birthday by sharing a photo of him looking handsome while seated in a blue suit. In the caption, she wrote, "Happy 31st birthday to my wonderfully kind, hard working and loving son. You will always be my baby boy, no matter how old you are! I love you Nikko!" White doesn't often share photos of her son but she's not nearly as private about her family as Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings, who recently shared a photo of himself and his son at a baseball game. This particular snap had fans in a frenzy as they chattered in the comments about how handsome he is in the photo. "Your son is handsome Mrs Vanna ❤️❤️❤️" one of White's followers wrote. Another joked, "Wow, it must be hard being that homely 🙄😂" Yet another commenter quipped, "What a Stud." White's son has mostly stayed out of the limelight, despite going viral in the past as his Wheel of Fortune co-host mom bragged about his culinary skills. 🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 Santo Pietro has a Hollywood connection via his career in real estate. He works for The Agency RE, the Beverly Hills real estate brokerage owned by Mauricio Umasky, who has appeared on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and his own Netflix series Buying Beverly Hills, which also featured Santo Pietro as an agent. Santo Pietro is White's oldest child with ex-husband George Santo Pietro. Her other child, daughter Giovanna, is 28. This Gritty Psychological Thriller Is the New #1 Film on Netflix (And It's Based on a True Story)

Gritty and intense are just a few of the words being used to describe A Widow's Game, a riveting thriller that has quickly shot its way to the top spot on Netflix. Based on a true story, the film centers around the mysterious events and investigations surrounding a man found dead under suspicious circumstances. The first person on the potential perpetrator list is his widow, which catches everybody off guard because nobody believes that she would be capable of the act of killing her husband in such a cruel manner. Things are never as they appear, however, and as it turns out, the story involves a number of secrets that leave everybody stunned. Directed by Carlos Sedes and starring Carmin Machi and Ivana Bacquero, the Spanish thriller is based on the factual events of a 36-year-old man named Antonio Navarro Cerdán, an industrial engineer who was ambushed and stabbed to death. And according to Rotten Tomatoes reviewers, the film is packed with twists and turns that don't disappoint. "The acting is excellent and the pacing is good, except for a short time in the middle where it focuses on the killer's POV. Looking at the story, the detective's method worked well," writes one Rotten Tomatoes reviewer, who gave the movie a 4-star rating. "I especially liked the actress who played the lieutenant," writes another. I've been looking for a new thriller to add to my watchlist this week, and A Widow's Game seems right up my alley…especially since it's the new number one film on Netflix. A Widow's Game is available to stream via Netflix.
