Darren Till names his price for Jake Paul boxing fight

The former UFC title challenger takes on Darren Stewart on Friday night, but is very much welcome to a future showdown with the YouTuber-turned-boxer
Darren Till anticipates he would pocket over $5million in a potential showdown with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.
The former UFC title challenger is set to return to the boxing ring on Friday night against ex-MMA fighter Darren Stewart. Till, 32, put pen-to-paper on a deal with Misfits after parting ways with the UFC in 2023. The Liverpudlian got off to the perfect start on his professional boxing debut, knocking out Anthony Taylor back in January.

Providing he comes away unscathed on fight night, Till is hoping for bigger and better things. While Paul has had his fair share of critics over the last few years, the Liverpool native welcomes a potential showdown with the social media sensation. In an exclusive interview with All Out Fighting, when asked whether a fight with the 'Problem Child' would appeal to him, the Brit replied: "Well, that's an interesting question… who wouldn't want a fight with Jake?

"Of course I would welcome a fight with Jake. We're talking five million plus." Earlier this year, Till expressed his interested in a clash with Paul at his beloved Anfield - home to Premier League winners Liverpool. It's something he believes can still happen. "Yeah! He's a superstar, I'm a superstar and rightfully so," he said on the topic of the fight taking place at the iconic stadium. "It can definitely happen, it's just a case of when and how, but it can definitely happen."
Regarding his future inside the boxing ring, Till tweeted following his explosive win against Taylor that he's targeting fights with Paul, KSI and Tommy Fury - all by the end of 2025. While that's a little ambitious, the 'Gorilla' is still eager to square-off against the aforementioned stars. "It can be the goal. It doesn't depend on me, it depends on them. If they want to get the fight going and done. Maybe the end of this year is too fast, but it definitely can happen, so we'll see. I would love for it to happen."
Last week, Misfits supremo Mams Taylor revealed to All Out Fighting that he's got 'at least two more mega-fights' for Till if all goes to plan tomorrow night. On the topic of a potential Paul vs Till showdown, Taylor said: "I do think there's going to be a lot of conversations about Darren Till as a potential Jake Paul opponent… not that Jake Paul has expressed interest, but if everything goes to Darren's plan this year, it's going to be hard not to have that conversation for fans.
"They've already brought it up. Darren is really naturally similar to Jake's weight. They're about the same weight class. I'd say off-season/ on-season, when they're fighting in-between camps, I think they've got a lot of similarities." But first, Till must get through Stewart - a UFC veteran - in Derby.
Speaking about the fight, Till is aware that he's in for a tough night despite his eagerness to face bigger names in the ring. "I know him well enough. I don't know him a lot. He's tough. He's been in the UFC, so anyone that gets into the UFC obviously is good, strong competitor no matter who they are or what they are," he said. "It's respect. We both know what we're capable of. We're probably two of the most dangerous men on stage when it comes to mortal combat. We both know we're going to war and that's fine with us."

‘People don't know this' – Michael Owen breaks silence on ‘well done he's 13' meme 26 years on from humiliating teenager

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) IT IS probably the cringiest moment from Michael Owen's long list. But now he has broken his silence on the infamous "well done, he's 13" gag from Neville Southall. 6 Michael Owen showed his ruthless finishing in the 1999 video Credit: YouTube 6 He famously celebrated the goals Credit: YouTube 6 Neville Southall quipped the famous phrase 'well done, he's 13' Credit: YouTube Owen featured in a Michael Owen Soccer Skills video in 1999 where he faced a young goalkeeper at an empty Stoke City stadium. The former England striker did his best to humiliate the 13-year-old Jamie Hutchinson, who was given goalkeeping tips from Southall. To his credit, Hutchinson did make some saves. But the video is remembered for Owen chipping, rounding and firing past the helpless child between the sticks - before shamelessly celebrating each finish. But it was his embarrassing shout of "get in there - game, set and match, Owen" that triggered Southall's brilliant quip. Southall said: "Well done, he's 13," a comment which remains a viral sensation and etched into British football heritage. But now, 26 years on, Owen has opened up on the clip - and revealed not all was quite as it seemed because he was told to play up for the cameras. CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS He told talkSPORT: "I was only a couple of years older than him myself!. It's probably funny now. 'I got back from the World Cup in 98 and there were loads of commercial opportunities, things like that. Virgil van Dijk 'destroys' Michael Owen with brutal 13-word put-down on live TV after Liverpool beat Everton 'I was asked to do a soccer skills video and a soccer skills book. So I had to explain, talk through finishing, volleying, heading, whatever the skill was. Inevitably, you need a goalkeeper there. 'I never picked them and so I turned up to do the show and to talk through how I see scoring a goal and what I think in certain scenarios and whatever. 'There was a kid in goal that I had to score past and when I scored they're like, 'Come on, no, you need to show a bit more animation. Like celebrate when you score, this is going on a video.'" talkSPORT host Andy Goldstein clarified: "So people don't know this, right?" And Owen continued: "People just laugh at you no matter what. Then they take a little extract of anything. 'There's loads of things like that on the internet on me.' 'NOT EXACTLY IDEAL' Hutchinson spoke about the viral video in 2016 and admitted he knew it would not come out too well for him. He said: 'Being the goalkeeper on a programme headlined by a striker wasn't exactly ideal for me. 'It was made clear that it wouldn't make good filming if the goalkeeper was saving all the shots taken by the other kids after they had been coached by Michael.' And even Southall himself did defend Owen's actions earlier this year. The 92-cap Wales goalkeeper - who reunited with Hutchinson a few years ago - added: "I think he was being ironic to be fair, but I think he was enjoying himself and being ironic. 'But the poor kid, he scored a squillion goals past him and I was thinking 'give him a break'. 'On the day, Michael was okay and he's always okay. 'People judge him on that and that's not him." 6 Owen pointed to the name on his shirt Credit: YouTube 6 The ex-striker revealed he was told to give it big Credit: talkSPORT
