Lionel Messi's bodyguard suspended in latest controversy
Lionel Messi's bodyguard is once again embroiled in controversy. Yassine Cheuko will be suspended from all technical areas for the remainder of the Leagues Cup after an incident during Inter Miami's game against Atlas on Wednesday night. 'After the July 30 Inter Miami CF vs. Club Atlas match, a member of Inter Miami's club delegation displayed improper conduct by entering restricted areas without an official event credential,' the Leagues Cup disciplinary committee said in a press release. FIFA via Getty Images 'In accordance with the Leagues Cup 2025 Tournament Regulations, the Disciplinary Committee has suspended the individual involved from all technical areas for the remainder of Leagues Cup 2025 and issued an undisclosed fine to Inter Miami CF.' The individual was reported to be Cheuko by ESPN. Advertisement Cheuko, an ex-MMA fighter who has been Messi's personal bodyguard since the megastar's time at Paris Saint-Germain, went onto the field after Wednesday's match to break up a discussion between players from the two teams. Afterward, Atlas player Matheus Doria said the bodyguard's actions were uncalled for. Lionel Messi during Inter Miami's Leagues Cup match against Atlas on Wednesday. IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect 'We already know that our board works very well and will take care of the issue. I understand that Messi's bodyguard is there to protect Messi from a possible entry by a fan, I don't know, but between players, he doesn't have that permission,' Doria said. Advertisement 'It's not up to us to say much or give our opinion on the matter, but the board and those in charge of the Leagues Cup have already seen it and will take charge of what can and can't be done because as long as it protects not only Messi but the other players, and the physical integrity of the players who are there, that's fine. But if it's for other issues, no one will agree, but it's not up to me to do anything.' In April, Cheuko was banned by Inter Miami from being on the sidelines during MLS matches, although he remained a member of the club's security team.

Community 'safety' group includes violent offenders and killer as members
A failed far-right election candidate who ranted 'I'm going all Texas on it. I got guns' in a disturbing post about asylum seekers is a founding member of 'vigilante' group Sinne na Daoine, has learned. Another founding member of the anti-immigrant group – which claims to have 'over 1,000' members – and a fellow failed election candidate, threatened to 'storm' the Dáil this week in a series of social media posts. And can further reveal – after reporting recently that a convicted father killer was in the group – that a separate person strongly associated with the sinister group is currently before the courts for a violent crime. Sinne na Daoine leader with Ger McNamara. Pic: File The worrying remarks about having guns were made in a 2022 post by Martin Murphy, who ran in last year's local elections for the Irish Freedom Party, in Tipperary's Carrick-on-Suir constituency. He also remarked on a post about former British prime minister Liz Truss and the European Commission president, Ursula von der Leyen: 'Ask which you would shoot if you only had 1 bullet.' The previous year, the former candidate and current Ireland First 'national organiser' posted a series of tweets calling for Fine Gael TDs and senators to be sent to the 'gallows'. understands Sinne na Daoine was founded last year by approximately ten people, including Mr Murphy and the president of the Ireland First party, Anthony Casey. It has been backed by ex-MMA star and self-styled presidential candidate Conor McGregor. Mr Casey said this week the Dáil needs to be 'stormed already'. The former Kildare South candidate made the comments on a post that claimed the Dublin streets 'run red with the blood of our own'. 'Do you still think @SinneNaDaoine is too extreme? Still think I'm too militant?,' he asked. 'How many innocent Irish lives are you willing to sacrifice? 'Don't be concerned about my 'electability'.' He added, the 'Dáil needs to be stormed already!!' When it was put to him by a follower that he should 'stop pontificating' and 'storm it', Mr Casey replied he will be there 'front and centre'. 'There are over 1000 in Sinne na Daoine now,' he said. 'Trust me, I am working on it, and I will be there front and centre. There's a reason I'm adopting a multi-pronged approach as I've said from the get go.' He continued: 'There are strong patriots around the movement that I need to sit down with first in order to achieve this effectively.' The revelations about its founding members come as can report that a man connected to Sinne na Daoine is currently charged with a serious violent crime. The man can't be named for legal reasons but has previously attended a Sinne na Daoine meeting at which he spoke. recently revealed another man, who bludgeoned his own father to death, is also a central figure in Sinne na Daoine. Ger McNamara. Pic: File Killer Gerard McNamara – who kicked and beat his own father to death – is part of the group that previously revealed has begun staging street patrols and has members in almost every county in the country. A photo from the group's first patrol in Limerick city shows McNamara, 37, posing beside Anthony Casey. The group were dressed in orange vests featuring the Sinne na Daoine logo. An informed source described the group as 'vigilantes' who 'put up stickers on the streets they patrol'. 'They are organised and anyone who wants to join is screened,' said the source. 'One of the women does the screening, and you have to do a FaceTime call or 30-second video [before being allowed onto their online forums].' Killer McNamara was sentenced to eight years in prison, with the final two years suspended, in 2012, for killing his father in a drink-fuelled row. He pleaded not guilty to murder but guilty to the manslaughter of Joseph 'Joey' O'Donnell, 48 at Hyde Road, Prospect, in Limerick, on October 1, 2010. Joseph O'Donnell died in hospital from blunt force trauma to the head, hours after his son had kicked and beaten him with a number of household items and a full can of beer. Last week, revealed how a Muslim man was hospitalised with a broken jaw after convicted killer McNamara, who is involved in the far-right 'community watchdog' group, wrongly accused him of inappropriately approaching children in a park. The footage, which went viral on social media before it was labelled 'misinformation' by gardaí, was filmed by McNamara and posted to his TikTok account. McNamara has also addressed his criminal past in a video he posted to his TikTok account. In the video, he claimed he had no idea why people are commenting under his posts that he was a murderer and that he didn't want to have to 'lower himself' by explaining to people what actually happened. He said: 'Who never had a drink with someone, got in a row and hit him in the head?' He added: 'He died three days later. I got charged with manslaughter. He's my dad. I love him. I miss him.' He also doubled down on the video he posted about the man in the park, saying there is 'evidence' of 'this Muslim foreign fella' approaching children – but without providing any proof or evidence to back up his claim. Sinne na Daoine publicised their first and second 'patrols' in Limerick city and Clonmel, in Co. Tipperary, on social media earlier in the year. They have also listed the names of companies or people they label 'plantation enablers' on their website. Meanwhile, Martin Murphy previously attempted to downplay his threatening posts when contacted by us. He said the tweets were posted before he declared his intention to run in the local election and described them as 'gallows humour'.

The snaps raised eyebrows as McGregor has been engaged to Dee Devlin since 2020, and they share four children together. Now, the ex-MMA star's official account has bizarrely liked an Instagram post criticising himself for his own public behaviour. An Instagram user blasted McGregor for appearing to cheat on his fiancee Devlin who "stuck with him through all the allegations". It accompanied a snap of the former UFC champ cuddling up with the mystery woman. The expletive laden post read: "Bro his wife is so much better than these b*****s what the f*** is Conor doing bruh. "Fr got a smoking hot wife who has stuck with him through all the allegations and bulls*** and multiple children and he's out here with a 4/10 torta." McGregor's partner of 16 years loyally stood by his side, even when he was accused of 'brutally raping and battering' a woman. In the heated snaps, the Irishman seemed to lap up the attention of other female beachgoers around him in the photos that emerged previously. McGregor and Devlin boast a glam life on social media, posting smiling snaps of each other and their kids in matching outfits. The family live in a £2.5million home in Kildare, a 40-minute drive from Dublin. Despite the controversy, fiancee Dee Devlin expressed her continued support for her controversial partner. She posted photos of the pair looking overjoyed as they celebrated McGregor's birthday. They pair have dated since 2008, and became engaged in 2020. They have four children together. They take holidays in Marbella, where they have a £1.3million villa in the exclusive gated The Heights set on the La Resina country club estate.

Rapper Azealia Banks Claims Conor McGregor Sent Her Nude Pics, Made Threats
New York rapper Banks accused ex-MMA fighter Conor McGregor of sending unsolicited nude photos and threats. Controversial New York rapper Azealia Banks has accused former UFC champion Conor McGregor of sending her explicit images without her permission and threatening her not to disclose the incident. The 34-year-old Harlem-born artist made the claims public on Monday, July 14, 2025, via her X account (formerly Twitter). She shared screenshots of some unsettling messages she says came from McGregor. In a quoted post, Banks expressed her shock and fury, saying, 'How you gonna send a b*h some crooked d**k pics then threaten her not to tell. N*gga do you know who the f**k I am? This is HARAM (sic)." She didn't stop there, also targeting McGregor's looks, alleged ambitions, and even his skincare routine. 'Like how are you really going to sexually harass me with the potato farmer d**k then threaten me not to tell???? Honey…… ain't u trying to be the president of Ireland? (sic)" she wrote, followed by, 'Use some f***g sunscreen damn (sic)." Among the alleged texts was a threatening line: 'Don't be a rat, because all rats end up caught (sic)." Banks claims McGregor deleted the explicit images and unfollowed her after her initial posts went viral. McGregor, who has been out of the UFC for over four years, remained silent as the story broke. Later on Monday, his 37th birthday, he made a single public post: 'Happy birthday to me!" His response drew curiosity, with followers unsure whether it was sarcastic or simply birthday-centred. Take a look here: This controversy follows a turbulent legal period for McGregor. In early 2025, he was ordered to pay nearly €200,000 in damages to a woman in Ireland who accused him of rape. He also faces ongoing sexual assault allegations in the U.S. from an incident reported at Miami's Kaseya Center. As of now, Banks has not stated whether she will pursue legal action.
