People cannot get over that this incredible beach spot is in Scotland. It has been compared to the Caribbean and boasts clear waters, beautiful white sands, plenty of water sports and great walking spots
This incredible spot in Scotland has been compared to the Caribbean, but is much closer to home and won't cost you a fortune. People cannot get over the clear waters and white sand beaches.
We all know the feeling of needing a break, whether it is due to work stress, personal issues, or an overbooked social calendar that leaves us exhausted. However, with rising bills and the high cost of living, splurging on a lavish holiday abroad often seems out of reach for many. While going abroad would be great, Scotland is home to so much beauty - and you can enjoy 'Caribbean-like' beaches close to home in this incredible spot in the north.

The spot is Luskentyre sands in the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides. It is one of the largest and most spectacular beaches on Harris and has been named one of the UK's best beaches in the TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Awards.

You will find miles of sand dunes, green-blue water, plenty of water sports, and spots to go hill walking and cycling. The location is also famous for being the setting of BBC 's Castaway.
After visiting recently, Cara shared a video on TikTok, which has raked in over one million views. On her @caramowbrayxoxox account, she dubbed it "paradise" and wrote, "Scotland, or the Caribbean?". In another video she said she has "never seen water so clear".
"Love Luskentyre beach it's gorgeous," insisted one individual in the comments. "I love Scotland it's such a beautiful part of the world," added another.
One who was gobsmacked by how clear the waters are, said: "Scotland! I live in Scotland and me and family went there at one point! Gorgeous place!"

Another pointed out: "The amount of people who don't know how beautiful our country/beaches and waters are is scary. But the less people who explore the quieter it will stay for us who do."
"I've been here and the water is honestly not that cold," noted one other.
The best time to visit the spot is during the summer months for optimal weather conditions, and daylight hours.

Getting there
The easiest way to get to the beach spot is to catch a short flight to Stornoway Airport. Flights from Glasgow and Edinburgh run every day and are just over an hour. Prices range from £120 upwards, according to Rome2Rio.
Once you arrive, you can drive one hour and 19 minutes to the beach, which is the cheapest option. You can also get a train which will take less than three hours, get on a bus, or order a taxi.
Unfortunately there is not direct train routes from to Luskentyre. Rome2Rio states: "However, you can take the bus to Uig Pier, walk to Uig Skye Ferry Terminal, take the ferry to Tarbert, walk to Car Park, then take the bus to Turning Point.
"Alternatively, you can take a train from Glasgow Queen Street Low Level to Township via Spean Bridge, Spean Crescent, Uig Pier, Uig Skye Ferry Terminal, Tarbert, and Car Park in around 12 hours and 13 minutes."

Warning ‘delusional' travel trend will make you miss your holiday

The 'airport theory' travel trend has been captivating TikTokers who are sceptical about the official advice handed down to passengers by travel hub bosses, but the risky strategy could come at a cost A new 'ridiculous' trend is sweeping through the travel communities of Britain. If you are looking for a way to add a little spice to your travels and don't mind potentially missing a flight, then you're in luck. ‌ The 'airport theory' trend has been captivating TikTok viewers of late. The idea is to arrive at your airport of choice just 15 minutes before your flight is due to depart. ‌ If, the theory goes, you've checked in online and are traveling with just hand luggage, it is possible to zip through security and make a beeline to your boarding gate. Time everything right, and you'll be able to saunter onto the plane without any waiting to endure. "No stress, no waiting, just pure main character energy," Wired succinctly summarises. The trend is at odds with the advice given by airports and airlines, which tend to advise arriving two hours or more before take-off time. Airport theory is 'about whether or not you really need to arrive at the airport within a certain period of time to catch a flight,' Betsy Grunch, a neurosurgeon with 2.4 million TikTok followers, told CNN. 'Is it really necessary to arrive the two to three hours beforehand as recommended to make your flight?' Betsy put the theory to the test by accident, arriving at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta just 26 minutes before her boarding time due to bad traffic. Unfortunately, the travel hub is the busiest in the world. ‌ That meant the content creator had to jog through the airport, finding her boarding gate right next to security. In total, it took Betsy just 18 minutes to get through. There are those who swear by it, such as TikTok creators like Michael DiCostanzo, who document their dashes through high-traffic hubs like LAX, Atlanta International Airport and New Orleans. Some don't believe that the content creator and others like Michael are being totally upfront about the ease with which he appears to glide through the airport. Others, such as TikToker Malia, accidentally found herself putting the airport theory to the test when her train was delayed. She managed to rush through the airport with four minutes to spare, but warned that the stress was "totally not worth it". There are many other videos in which have-a-go airport speedsters are seen watching sadly as their plane leaves without them. The 'airpory theory' hashtag has racked up more than 400 million views on TikTok, and seems to have caused quite a lot of havoc in the process. Google searches for 'I missed my flight what do I do' spiked 70 percent in April, when the trend first emerged. "The best way to get through airport security unscathed is to move like you've done this a hundred times before. A little planning, the right gear, and skipping social media stunts will get you from curb to gate with minimal stress," Wired advises, before dubbing the trend a "viral delusion".

British man orders pint in Benidorm but is totally floored by price

A British man recently visited Benidorm and ordered a pint at a well-known bar. He was floored when he was told the price of the tipple, and what it would set him back A British man ordered a pint in Benidorm but was left totally floored by the price. The man, who appears to be no stranger to Spain, was taken aback when he was told how much a drink would set him back at the popular holiday hotspot. Known as the Benidorm Fanatic to his TikTok followers, he told people he headed to Uncle Ron's bar, which is said to be "famous" for its pints, notable for how cheap they're sold for. As he ventured to the venue, he was left astoudned at the price list, as he seriously got a lot for his money. ‌ In the clip, he said: "I tell you what, I believe it's actually a very, very nice pint as well, so it comes to the equivalent of about 84p in British money. Let's go and try it out, shall we? Let's give it a try." ‌ After he made his way to the bar, he added: "So there you go, I'll give you a euro, a €1 pint, and I'll take that. Let's try this €1 pint. Look at that - a nice, clean, cold pint. It's got a nice, good head on it - let's try it. "That is actually one of the best pints I've had in one of the popular bars. That is actually one of the best pints I've had in Benidorm to be honest with you. €1, I'll drink them all day." Since he shared the video, many people have viewed it, and they were quick to comment too. They shared their thoughts, and some posted their own Benidorm stories. One said: "Wow." Another shared: "I was there last week." A third replied: "Lovely pint. Had many." Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: "Bargain." ‌ If you've never heard of Uncle Ron's before, it's a popular spot for British tourists in Benidorm. As well as being known for its cheap drinks, it also serves food too. According to TripAdvisor, the venue serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and also has 3.8/5 rating on average, according to the review platform. Many people say it's worth a visit if you're looking for a reasonable meal and a few drinks while on holiday. In the review section, one person wrote: "Had a fantastic breakfast at Ron's today. Lovely English produce. Great service. Brilliant staff. ‌ "A massive group came in, but they were serviced promptly. Don't know how they manage with so few staff." Another said: "Last day we visited for some lunch before heading to airport. Left full, which is always a good thing. In all my times of going here, never left unhappy at the service nor the food - always really good." A third replied: "We went many times during our two-week holiday. The staff are friendly and extremely hard working day and night. "Cheapest drinks you will find in town and food to suit everyone (daily deal only 6 euros). It's not a stylish 5* restaurant but then you wouldn't expect it. "For drinks just go to the bar like a normal bar. Always busy Sunday and Friday, so expect to book if you want a Sunday lunch. Would we go again? Certainly would!"
