Andy Carroll and Lou Teasdale 'disappointed' after police called over row
Footballer, Andy Carroll, and his girlfriend, Lou Teasdale, admitted that the police were called after the couple had a 'heated discussion', which they say was 'blown out of proportion'
Andy Carroll and his hair stylist girlfriend, Lou Teasdale, have admitted they were spoken to by police following a row between the couple on the Greek island of Mykonos. The pair, who have been dating since last year following the footballer's split with the mum of his three kids, Billi Mucklow, revealed they'd had a "heated discussion" while on the party island, but that things had been "blown out of proportion".
Andy, 36, was reportedly questioned about a bust-up he'd had with Lou, 42, at a packed beachside restaurant and then at their hotel. One worker at the Nikolus Tavern said of the first argument: 'We recognised him as the footballer Andy Carroll immediately. He seemed very drunk and furious with his partner. He was using very bad words. It was improper behaviour. The woman looked very upset.'
The Sun reports that police arrived and took the former West Ham ace, who was "very calm" to one side for a chat. He was later allowed to return to Lou, who is a well-known celebrity hairstylist.
However, hours later police were reportedly called again by staff after reports of damage to the couple's room at a £500-a-night boutique hotel.
Officers are said to have escorted Andy to a local station for questioning but no arrests were made. Another source claimed Lou did not stay with her boyfriend that night.
They said: "After the restaurant episode, there was another incident at the hotel. This time, the footballer went to the police station. We know the woman stayed somewhere else that night.'
Meanwhile, a British holidaymaker who reportedly spotted the pair while out for a stroll accused Andy of being "very drunk" adding that he shouted at Lou: "I'm done with us!"
Responding to the reports, Andy and Lou admitted that the police were called following their "heated discussion", however they insisted things had been "blown out of proportion", issuing a joint statement, which read: "Whilst having a private dinner in a restaurant on a quiet holiday in Mykonos, we had a heated discussion of the sort that most couples have had on occasion. It quickly became apparent to the police that there was no reason for them to be there.
'We went outside the restaurant with them together as they insisted they wanted to 'look after' us.
'As far as we are concerned, the situation has been blown out of all proportion by an interested member of the public. No one was arrested, and no one was charged with anything.
"We are very happy, in love and looking forward to our future together, and we are disappointed that a private disagreement has become a public matter.'

"It was a long, perilous journey, which had no real answers in the end,' she said. "I'll never get all the answers. That's one of the most heartbreaking aspects of all… losing someone like that on a cruise ship. "It's just all different when it happens at sea - and people don't realise that at all." After boarding Carnival Cruise Line's Paradise in Long Beach, California on 14 October, 2005, Ashley's boyfriend said they hit up the casino and a concert before returning to their cabin for the night. But following an alleged disagreement, her boyfriend went back out - leaving her alone in the room. He said he returned in the early hours after continuing his night out onboard, falling asleep next to Ashley, before waking up hours later to join pals upstairs. Ashley remained in bed, her boyfriend believing she was still fast asleep from celebrations the night before. After partying some more, he returned to the cabin once again - except this time he tried to wake her up. When he was unable to rouse her, he went running into the hallway screaming that his girlfriend wasn't breathing, with another passenger scrambling to call 911 after hearing his cries. While a nurse began to perform CPR, the ship's doctor arrived - but efforts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful. There were allegedly few defibrillators on the ship and no opioid-overdose inhibitors to aid medical staff. Ashley was pronounced dead soon after. "They just left her body there," she said. "Not the boyfriend, not one of those other folks, not a representative from the cruise line." Jamie said she didn't even hear from Ashley's boyfriend - the last person to see her alive - until a full day after her daughter's tragic passing. He claimed he had no idea what had happened to her - but revealed that some of his medications was missing. It was later concluded that Ashley had died from a methadone drug overdose - something that shocked her grieving family and friends who insist she was extremely anti-drugs. Methadone is what's dubbed a "legal high" drug, traditionally used to help addicts stop taking heroin - despite both being Class A. Jamie says Ashley was "autopsied and, before she could come back to the United States, her body had to be embalmed". This meant that by the time her body was returned to her family, "any forensic pathologist had very little to go on to figure out what happened" - shrouding even more mystery over Ashley's death. With Jamie still desperate for answers, the family hired a private pathologist to carry out a forensic autopsy. They found exactly what Jamie thought - healthy organs in a healthy body, with some evidence of alcohol consumption. No signs of trauma were discovered either. The grieving mum believes cruise-goers are often "lulled into a false sense of security". She explained to The Sun: "Don't get on a ship and think nothing could happen to you. "It's like a small city where anything can happen. "You can't let your guard down. You have to still be mindful and keep your eyes open." Jamie also described how difficult it is for authorities to investigate crimes that happen at sea and collect key evidence. This means many cases on board ships remain unsolved - leaving grieving families with unanswered questions about their loved ones. Jamie, who campaigns through International Cruise Victims, said: "We're there to help folks who have found themselves victims of either some kind of crime at sea or some kind of negligence or traumatic event at sea. "When that happens to people, because of laws being so wishy-washy, if they even exist on the high seas, they don't know where to turn to or what to do. "And most of us who are leading this organisation remember that vividly and how that feels. "We do everything we can to take somebody's hand and walk them through all of these things should they find themselves a victim in any way." The chancing of dying on a cruise ship were recorded as being roughly 1 in 6.25 million in 2019, according to Forbes - suggesting it as being one of the safest ways to travel for holidaymakers. But the statistic misses out crimes committed on ships, or missing persons. Jamie claims that some cruises only put out a "soundbite" on missing persons on board the ships, along with what could have happened to them. She said families are often told their loved one was "depressed" or "this person had a fight with their partner". Jamie explained: "So right away you're thinking it was intentional, when it's very important for us hearing those reports to stay neutral, to wait. "How do you know? What leads you to say that?" Advocates have claimed that cruise lines have a "spotty" record of crime reporting, which makes actual statistics hard to determine. But through her work at International Cruise Victims, Jamie looks to hold cruise lines more accountable for what goes on on their ships, while also protecting future cruise-goers on their holidays. Jamie added: "The cruise industry loves to say 'passenger safety is our number one priority'. "We're over here saying - put your money where your mouth is."

'My mum abandoned us to live in Kenyan hut with toyboy Masai warrior'
Just weeks after meeting on a package holiday in Kenya, British mum Cheryl Thomasgood tied the knot with Masai warrior Daniel Lekimencho. At 34, Cheryl had left behind her quiet life on the Isle of Wight with her two children and second husband for her new lover—but she later lived to regret it. Stevie, who relocated to Seoul, South Korea, with his wife and children, says he hasn't spoken to his mum in 10 years. Meanwhile, his brother, who lives in Canada, also has little contact with their mum, according to the brother. Even before she abandoned them, Stevie's childhood had already been traumatic. His father, Robert Liddington, left when he was four-years-old, resulting in Cheryl experiencing a mental breakdown, MailOnline reports. The brothers were placed into foster care before Cheryl's second husband, Mike Mason, provided stability for the family and looked after them as if they were his own. But his life then shattered into pieces when he received a phone call from his mum saying she was never returning home. Matters were made worse, he says, after she spoke with the press. Children at his school would bring in newspapers and make fun of him after she shared tales of her unconventional romance. She swapped her home comforts to live in a mud hut in rural Kenya, where she lived off cabbage and cow's blood. The couple eventually left Kenya behind in 1995 so she could return to the Isle of Wight, and three years later, they had a daughter, Mitsi. They tied the knot on Valentine's Day, both wearing traditional Masai clothing. But when she reportedly would go missing for days, it was Stevie who was left to look after his half-sister. He remembers praying that she was still alive as he walked around the local neighbourhood for hours trying to search for her. Stevie claims that his mum's relationship with Daniel was "violent" and that he cannot forgive Cheryl for what she did, having firmly closed the door shut at any opportunity for a reconciliation, adding that she should "never have been a mother". Four years after marrying, Cheryl and Daniel split in 1999, with the mum citing that the spiritual warrior "turned into a miserable sod". She claimed her third husband changed whilst living in the UK, and became "obsessed" with wealth. And now three decades later, the mum-of-three, now 65, has opened up about her regretful past. "I made a huge mistake, it was very wrong of me, and I have a lot of regrets, especially about how it damaged my children," she told the Mail. She added: "Daniel was trying his best, but he could never understand the Western ways and couldn't be the dad that they needed." She maintains that there is "one good thing" to come of their difficult romance, which is their daughter Mitsi. Following their relationship breakdown, Daniel remained on the island, where he now works in a supermarket.
