Children Services celebrates families overcoming adversity
WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Trumbull County Children Services is celebrating its community partners while also recognizing families who have overcome adversity.
It's all part of the agencies 'Rising Up and Moving On' luncheon at DiVieste's Banquet Centre. The annual event honors families that have embraced agency services and other resources to successfully rebuild and keep a safe, healthy home for their children.
This year's theme was 'hope flutters on painted wings,' reminding us that transformation is possible.'
'It's important for the families that we're honoring as well as for our staff because they trauma and horrible things ever day and for them to see families overcome that, it's an inspiration for them,' said Marilyn Pape with Trumbull County Children Services.
The luncheon takes place during National Child Abuse Prevention Month each year.
