
Sat.One unveils resilient managed LEO satellite service for ANZ
The company's latest offering is designed to address the challenges posed by the adoption of LEO satellite networks, which have become increasingly important for organisations seeking to extend communications beyond terrestrial reach. As enterprises turn to Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) connectivity, the support for high-availability and consistent performance across multiple satellite constellations is becoming more complex.
Sat.One Resilient is powered by ARGO, a software-defined edge platform developed specifically for LEO satellite operations. According to Sat.One, ARGO enables the service to anticipate and adapt to link degradation in real time, a capability not found in traditional SD-WAN solutions. The company states that this approach delivers service level agreements (SLAs) with 99.9% availability, with plans to move towards 99.99%.

The managed service targets enterprise and government customers and aims to provide reliable connectivity in remote and hybrid environments. It integrates with existing customer networks, offering features such as intelligent link management, always-on multi-constellation coverage, and standardised network handoff mechanisms.
At the core of Sat.One Resilient is ARGO, which Sat.One describes as a platform capable of anticipating service degradation from factors such as weather, radio frequency interference, or satellite movement. Unlike SD-WAN products, which typically react after link quality drops, ARGO employs advanced machine learning to identify and address potential issues before they affect service quality.
Fairbairn explained, "Sat.One tested multiple SD-WAN products and found none met the performance thresholds needed for enterprise-grade LEO. Unlike SD-WAN, ARGO proactively mitigates link degradation before it impacts the user. No SD-WAN can achieve this."
By using predictive analytics and real-time corrective actions, ARGO aims to maintain packet loss below 0.1% and deliver consistent user experiences for latency-sensitive applications, including VoIP, telemetry, real-time video, and remote system control. The platform is designed to integrate seamlessly into SD-WAN deployments and supports standard network protocols and industry-specific service classes, such as those provided by OneWeb.
Sat.One reports that Sat.One Resilient is already in use across government, emergency services, and resource sectors, supporting projects that require high availability and operational certainty. The solution is positioned to address increasing regulatory and operational demands in critical infrastructure sectors.

"With enterprise LEO connectivity that's managed, monitored, and mission-ready, there's no substitute. As expectations rise and policy tightens around critical infrastructure, organisations need connectivity they can trust."
The new service is available exclusively through Sat.One's network of telecommunications channel and managed service provider partners. It is designed for integration into partner offerings to deliver additional resilience for customers operating in remote areas or in need of alternative network paths in case of terrestrial outages.
Sat.One described its approach as focused on enabling customers and partners to achieve reliable communication links, regardless of location or environmental conditions.
Sat.One continues to work with technology partners and user terminal manufacturers, including Intellian, Kymeta, and Hughes, to further expand the reach and performance of its services for enterprises and communities throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Satellite IoT market sees over 100 vendors as LEO drives change
New research has shown more than 100 vendors are active in the satellite IoT market, which is becoming increasingly fragmented as new entrants challenge established companies. According to IoT Analytics' latest Satellite IoT Market Report 2025–2030, the dominance of legacy satellite network operators (SNOs) is expected to lessen by 2030 as new players such as Starlink and Amazon's Project Kuiper enter the market. The analysis finds that in 2024, seven longstanding SNOs held over 80% of the total satellite IoT market share. However, with over 100 vendors now active, competition is intensifying and market dynamics are shifting. The presence of new operators leveraging Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellations is prompting changes amongst established operators, leading to new business strategies in response. Market overview IoT Analytics observed 7.5 million satellite IoT connections in 2024. The average revenue per user (ARPU) for satellite IoT was found to be nearly 15 times that of cellular IoT, underscoring the comparatively high value of satellite-based remote connectivity solutions. The Satellite IoT Market Report 2025–2030 outlines that while legacy SNOs remain significant, major technology companies are entering the arena and shifting the competitive environment. Starlink and Project Kuiper are highlighted as two leading entrants expected to impact market shares by 2030. Strategic trends Three core strategic trends have been identified in the report. Firstly, the adoption of LEO satellite constellations has accelerated. In 2024, 63% of satellite IoT operators used satellites in LEO to support their services. LEO offers lower signal latency, and the costs associated with manufacturing and launching these satellites are generally less than those for higher orbits. Secondly, legacy operators are increasingly pursuing multi-orbit strategies. By combining LEO, Medium Earth Orbit (MEO), and Geostationary Orbit (GEO) satellites - often through partnerships or acquisitions - these companies seek to enhance service coverage and remain competitive. Companies employing multi-orbit connectivity strategies accounted for 50% of the satellite IoT connectivity market share in 2024. Thirdly, the implementation of hybrid networks is rising as SNOs partner with mobile network operators (MNOs). This integration of satellite and terrestrial networks is intended to improve both coverage and reliability for end users, offering broader connectivity options globally. Industry perspective Satyajit Sinha, Principal Analyst at IoT Analytics, comments that "Legacy players like Iridium and Inmarsat won't be displaced overnight. Their continued relevance comes from a proven ability to evolve. But survival for all, especially for newer players, now depends on adapting to the new market reality: LEO collaboration, cloud-native operations, and flexible pricing models are no longer optional. The entry of tech giants like Starlink will reset expectations, and the industry must respond accordingly. With Starlink bringing over 7,000 LEO satellites into service by mid-2025, price competitiveness in the satellite market will reshape the competitive landscape by 2030." Sinha's assessment highlights both the resilience of established firms and the adaptability expected of both current and new market participants. The scaling up of LEO deployments, coupled with adjustments to operational models and pricing, is projected to have a significant influence on how services are delivered over the coming years. Market fragmentation The analysis notes that the growing number of SNOs and partnerships is contributing to increasing market fragmentation. This trend is considered likely to continue as barriers to entry decrease and technology evolves, making it possible for a wider range of companies to offer satellite IoT services. Commvault revenue rises 26% to USD $282 million in first quarter
Commvault has reported its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal 2026, noting an increase in total revenue and annualised recurring revenue. Financial performance The company posted record total revenue of USD $282 million for the quarter ending 30 June 2025, representing a 26% increase compared with the same period in the previous year. Annualised recurring revenue (ARR) rose to USD $996 million, up 24% year-on-year. On a constant currency basis using 31 March 2025 spot rates, ARR increased by 21%. Subscription revenue for the quarter reached USD $182 million, a 46% year-over-year increase. This figure includes term-based license revenue of USD $109 million, up 36%, and SaaS revenue of USD $72 million, up 66% over the same period in the prior fiscal year. Subscription ARR stood at USD $844 million, marking a 33% rise year-on-year, or a 30% increase on a constant currency basis. Income from operations (EBIT) for the quarter was USD $25 million, with an operating margin of 8.9%. On a non-GAAP basis, EBIT was USD $58 million, reflecting an operating margin of 20.7%. Operating cash flow was reported at USD $32 million, and free cash flow stood at USD $30 million. Operational highlights For the 14th consecutive time, Commvault has been named a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Backup and Data Protection Platforms. In the first quarter, the company enhanced partnerships with organisations such as CrowdStrike, Deloitte, HPE, and Kyndryl, with the aim of strengthening incident response capabilities and cyber resilience for customers. The company also expanded its post quantum computing capabilities, focusing on supporting customers to protect highly sensitive, long-term data against evolving cyber threats. Commvault Cloud achieved GovRAMP Authorised status at the state level for its cyber resilience SaaS solutions, in addition to its existing FedRAMP High authorisation at the federal level. Guidance for the coming periods Commvault has provided financial guidance for the second quarter of fiscal 2026, accounting for current macroeconomic conditions. The company expects total revenues to be between USD $272 million and USD $274 million. Subscription revenue is forecast to range from USD $174 million to USD $176 million. Non-GAAP gross margin is anticipated to be between 81% and 82%, with a non-GAAP EBIT margin of approximately 20%. For the full fiscal year 2026, Commvault projects total revenues between USD $1,161 million and USD $1,165 million. Total ARR is forecast to grow 18% year-over-year, while subscription revenue is expected to be between USD $753 million and USD $757 million. Subscription ARR is predicted to grow 24% year-over-year. Non-GAAP gross margin is expected to remain between 81% and 82%, while non-GAAP EBIT margin is forecast at approximately 20.5%. Free cash flow for the full year is anticipated to be between USD $210 million and USD $215 million. These forecasts are based on actual first quarter results, current targets, and the pending acquisition of Satori Cyber, which is expected to close in the second quarter of fiscal 2026. Applications For Rates Rebate Scheme Open 1 August
Applications for the rates rebate scheme for the 2025/26 rates year with new eligibility rules open on 1 August 2025. The rating year runs from 1 July to 30 June. The rates rebate scheme provides a rebate for low-income earners who are paying rates for the home they are living in. As a result of the Government's budget announcements, the income threshold to be eligible for the maximum rebate for SuperGold cardholders and their households is increasing to $45,000. This took effect from 1 July for the 2025/2026 rating year. For non-SuperGold cardholders and their households the income threshold will be lifted to $32,210. Those with a higher level of income may also be entitled to a partial rebate. The maximum rebate has also been increased from $790 to $805. To apply, it is important people have the right information. Applicants need to provide proof of income from Inland Revenue for the financial year 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025 and their SuperGold card if applicable. Council's Customer Service Centre in Blenheim will have dedicated rates rebate staff on duty from 1 August to 11 September 2025 from 9am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4pm each day to help. There are two car parks for mobility permit holders at the rear of the Council building. Applications for 2025/26 close on 30 June 2026.
