Security tightened in Jaipur ahead of Amit Shah's visit for Cooperative and Employment Conference
On Monday, police personnel from multiple stations conducted thorough verification drives at hotels and dharamshalas across the city, checking identities and instructing staff to immediately report any suspicious individuals.
Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph visited Dadiya village, the site of the upcoming event, to assess the security arrangements. This included checking the entire route from the airport to the venue, as well as alternative access points for attendees. The police are ensuring smooth coordination and strict surveillance ahead of the high-profile visit.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Cooperatives (Independent Charge) Gautam Kumar Dak chaired a review meeting at the Apex Bank Auditorium in Jaipur. He instructed all departments to complete their tasks on time and emphasised that every official and staff member must take full responsibility for their roles in organising the event.

Delhi Police officers can now provide evidence to court via video conference from police stations, officials said on Tuesday. This comes after Delhi L-G V K Saxena notified all police stations as designated places for deposition. According to officials from the L-G Office, this marks a departure from the current requirement for officers — including investigating officers and those who are witnesses in criminal cases — to be physically present in court for providing evidence or deposition. Officers will no longer have to travel and physically attend court proceedings — saving a great amount of time and resources. This major reform comes under the draft model rules (Nyaya Shruti) on video conferencing under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, which recommends for inclusion of police stations as a 'designated place' for deposition through video conference for police personnel/officers. According to officials, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who has personally been supervising the smooth implementation of the three criminal laws since their rollout last year, has also been emphasising on deposition of police personnel through video conferences from police stations. In a recent review meeting, Shah had directed for setting up of an adequate number of video conferencing facilities to ensure smooth functioning and proper coordination between police and the courts. However, at the same time, the Home Minister categorically directed that witnesses in a case must not be examined from the video conferencing facility at police stations, and only police officers could be examined from these facilities. Accordingly, the Delhi Police had requested notifying all 226 police stations as 'designated place', following which a proposal to this effect was sent by the Delhi government's Home Department to the L-G, officials said. According to Delhi Police estimates, on average, nearly 2,000 police officers depose before various courts every day. Officials said the move is expected to bring greater transparency and efficiency in overall police functioning. Further, it would decongest the courts and enable police officers to devote more time to policing and the investigation of other cases. Earlier, the video conferencing facility for providing evidence was only available in the Delhi High Court, District Courts, Delhi Prisons, Hospitals and the Forensic Science Laboratory, and some government offices. TDP MPs, MLAs urge HM Amit Shah to renew FCRA of RDT
A delegation of TDP MPs and MLAs from undivided Anantapur district along with Union ministers from the State submitted a representation to Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking renewal of FRCA to Anantapur-based Rural Development Trust (RDT), in New Delhi on Monday (August 11). The delegation comprised of MPs Ambica Lakshminarayana and BK Pardhasaradhi from Anantapur and Hindupur respectively, TDPLP leader Lavu Srikrishna Devarayulu, MLAs Paritala Sunitha, Amilineni Surendra, Daggubati Venkateswara Prasad and others. They met Mr. Amit Shah along with Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu. The TDP delegation appraised Mr. Amit Shah about the various service activities done by the RDT in the drought-hit Anantapur region over the past 50 years and how the activities have brought a change in the life of the people of the region. They also informed the Union Minister about the various ongoing service activities of the RDT in health and education sectors and how they would be affected, if the services of the Trust come to a halt. They said that the lives of thousands of people would be impacted with the non-renewal of FCRA and urged Mr. Amit Shah to look into the application for renewal of RDT that was still pending. Speaking after meeting the Union Home Minister, MLAs Sunitha and others said that Mr. Amit Shah had responded positively to their representation and hoped a favourable decision from the Centre. The MLAs said they informed in detail the services being extended by the RDT to Mr. Amit Shah.
