SNAP 2025: Symbiosis International starts application process for MBA
Eligible candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university/institution of national importance with at least 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for SC/ST). Candidates with foreign qualifications must obtain an equivalency certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Candidates are advised to check specific programme eligibility on the official website before applying.

SNAP 2025 will be conducted in 79 cities across India with objective-type questions, each with four response options. A 25% negative marking will apply for every incorrect answer. The registration fee is Rs 2,250 per attempt, with an additional Rs 1,000 per programme. The final selection process (merit listing) will be based on a composite score that includes:
–SNAP Score (scaled to 50 marks)
–Group Exercise (10 marks)
–Personal Interaction (40 marks)
The SNAP Test is the entry point to MBA programmes at: SIBM Pune, SICSR, SIMC, SIIB, SCMHRD, SIMS, SIDTM, SCIT, SIOM, SIHS, SIBM Bengaluru, SSBF, SIBM Hyderabad, SSSS, SIBM Nagpur, SIBM NOIDA, and SSCANS.
After the announcement of results, shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the group exercise and personal interaction (GE-PI):
– A candidate will be shortlisted for further Symbiosis MBA admission process (GE-PI) based on their overall SNAP percentile. Candidates will have to check the respective Institute website for information and dates of GE-PI.
The further admission process is conducted separately for each MBA programme by each Institute. The cut-off for shortlisting is also calculated separately for each programme. Based on her/his overall SNAP percentile, a particular candidate may get shortlisted for more than one programme. In such a scenario, the candidate is expected to participate in the GE-PI for each programme separately.

Textile co from Ludhiana to invest Rs 2,500 cr in Basai industrial area in Mandsaur
Indore: A Ludhiana-based textile company has acquired 25 hectares of land in the upcoming Basai industrial area in Mandsaur district, pledging to invest Rs 2,500 crore. "We have allotted 25 hectare to a Ludhianvi based textile company. The company will set up an advanced integrated unit for the textile industry by investing Rs 2,500 crore," said Rajesh Rathod, executive director of Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC), Ujjain region. The Basai industrial area will be developed on 178.83 hectares at a cost of around Rs 89 crore. The park is expected to attract investments exceeding Rs 5,000 crore and create approximately 8,000 jobs, according to MPIDC. Mandsaur and Neemuch districts in the state have attracted many enquiries from textile units of Punjab and Rajasthan in the past a few months. "A few garment industries have also conducted site visit and enquired about the availability of land in Basai. Apart from this, ethanol and food industries have also showed interest in this land parcels but allotments have not happened," said Rathod. Development work at the Basai industrial park is expected to start in the second quarter of the fiscal, according to the industries department. Another industrial area in the Ujjain division is coming up in Chitakheda in Neemuch district. It is going to be a multi-product industrial area. Industrialists and industry associations from Mandsaur emphasised that the govt should work on providing essential infrastructure at industrial areas like transport services to industrial areas, uninterrupted water and electricity supply, and police chowki in industrial belts in existing industrial areas in Mandsaur district. ‘Jal Dhara' inches closer to reality
Panchkula: The much-awaited 'Jal Dhara' project for the beautification and rejuvenation of two seasonal rivulets (nullahs) flowing through the city may soon become a reality with the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority (PMDA) floating a Rs 76.50 crore tender. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The tender, which includes proposals for both commercial and recreational utilisation of the areas surrounding the nullahs, has invited bids from interested agencies by Sept 1. A private agency has already completed the detailed project report (DPR), laying out a comprehensive plan to transform the currently neglected water channels. According to the PMDA, the plan involves cleaning the rivulets and developing dedicated walking and jogging tracks along their paths. As part of the beautification effort, greenery and ornamental plants will be introduced, while protective nets will be installed to prevent the dumping of garbage. Areas where side walls are broken will be repaired. To ensure long-term sustainability and public engagement, the project also envisions the creation of special shops and refreshment huts. It is also aimed at earning revenue. At present, these rivulets are in a deplorable state, choked with waste and frequented by stray cattle and dogs. Residents have long been pressing for their development. Illegal encroachments along the banks pose a significant challenge to the project's execution. An official said, "Tackling encroachments and ensuring public cooperation will be crucial for the success of 'Jal Dhara'. However, with the tender now floated and groundwork in progress, the project has moved closer to becoming a reality — promising a cleaner, greener, and more vibrant Panchkula."

Goa spent just about 50% of AMRUT funds to rejuvenate urban infrastructure
Panaji: Goa succeeded in spending just over half of the funds sanctioned under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0 mission to improve water supply, according to data released by the Housing and Urban Affairs. The AMRUT 2.0 dashboard indicates that Goa has undertaken projects under the AMRUT mission in Bicholim, Curchorem, Mapusa, Panaji, Valpoi and Sanquelim. Data shows that the housing and urban affairs ministry approved projects aimed at providing universal coverage of water supply worth Rs 138.35 crore, out of which works worth Rs 70.45 crore were completed. Ministry data tabled in Parliament shows that 48% of the funds meant for sewerage and septage management in the state capital have been spent to date. The Union ministry approved projects worth Rs 21.26 crore for sewerage projects, but state managed to spend just Rs 10.3 crore. The Centre's flagship AMRUT 2.0 scheme was launched in Oct 2021 for a five-year period and is supposed to be wrapped up this financial year. The data shows that Goa submitted utilisation certificates for just Rs 15.76 crore that was spent. The Centre has listed 85 projects under AMRUT 2.0 in Goa. The AMRUT 2.0 scheme aims to improve the quality of life for the poor and disadvantaged. MoS housing and urban affairs Tokhan Sahu told Parliament that assessment and monitoring of work done under AMRUT in the states is ongoing, with a provision for independent review and monitoring. 'In order to fast-track the implementation of AMRUT 2.0, the progress is periodically reviewed and monitored through regular video conferences, webinars, workshops, and site visits,' he said.
