No Local Involvement In Pahalgam Terror Attack: Omar Abdullah
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, while inaugurating the Golf Championship 2025 at Gulmarg, told the media that there was no local involvement in the April 22, 2025, Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people, including 25 tourists and a local ponywala.
Abdullah stated that all the terrorists responsible were foreigners. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested two individuals for allegedly sheltering the attackers. He also noted that they might have acted under pressure, possibly providing food to the terrorists out of coercion. He emphasised that the ongoing NIA probe would determine further details, with legal proceedings to follow.
The J-K CM welcomed the Iran-Israel ceasefire, saying the ceasefire should last forever, as massive destruction had happened in the past 11 days. He expressed hope that there would be no further escalation.
Abdullah added that efforts are on to normalise tourism in Kashmir, which was severely impacted by the Pahalgam attack. He mentioned the need to gradually reopen tourist destinations by coordinating with police and security officials. He highlighted that promoting tourism and normalizing Kashmir aligns with national efforts, including meetings led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resume tourism in the region.
He thanked the central government for approving a Rs. 10,600 crore package for infrastructure development in Jammu and Kashmir. Abdullah emphasised that his government's focus is not only on tourism infrastructure but also on broader development projects to fulfill promises made to the people.

School jobs case: ED attaches assets worth Rs 27.19 crore
The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Kolkata Zonal Office, has provisionally attached movable and immovable assets worth Rs 27.19 crore in connection with the West Bengal Central School Service Commission (SSC) Group C & D recruitment scam. The attached assets, held in the name of three tea estates owned by Prasanna Kumar Roy, include bungalows, factories, plants, machinery, and vehicles. The tea estates involved are M/s Samsing Organic Tea Private Limited, M/s Yangtong Organic Tea Private Limited, and M/s Bamandanga Tea Estate Private Limited. According to the ED, these properties were allegedly purchased using illicit funds collected from candidates who secured illegal appointments to Group C and D posts. This latest action follows the Supreme Court's April 3, 2025, judgment in State of West Bengal vs Baishakhi Bhattacharya (Chatterjee) & Ors (SLP Civil 9586 of 2024), which quashed over 25,000 teaching and non-teaching appointments made through the West Bengal Central SSC. The court ruled the entire selection process was 'vitiated and tainted.' The ED investigation was initiated based on two FIRs registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860, and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The FIRs allege appointments were made in violation of rules, through criminal conspiracy, and to undeserving or ineligible candidates, bypassing meritorious applicants. Prior to this, the ED had attached assets worth Rs 219.91 crore in the Group C & D recruitment scam alone. Prasanna Kumar Roy, identified as the main middleman who collected money and candidate details, and his key associate Chandan Mondal, are currently in judicial custody. In related investigations, the ED has also made significant property attachments; in the SSC Assistant Teacher (Classes 9 to 12) Recruitment Scam, assets worth Rs 238.78 crore were attached, in the Primary Teachers Recruitment Scam, assets worth Rs 151 crore have been attached or seized. With this latest actio, the total value of properties attached by the ED stands at Rs 636.88 crore.

A new U.S. intelligence report found that Iran's nuclear programme has been set back only a few months after a U.S. strike and was not 'completely and fully obliterated' as President Donald Trump has said, according to two people familiar with the early assessment. The people were not authorised to address the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity. According to the people, the report found that while the Saturday (June 21, 2025) strikes at the Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan nuclear sites did significant damage, they were not totally destroyed. The White House strongly pushed back on the assessment, calling it 'flat-out wrong.' 'The leaking of this alleged assessment is a clear attempt to demean President Trump and discredit the brave fighter pilots who conducted a perfectly executed mission to obliterate Iran's nuclear program,' White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement. Bishnoi gang vows revenge after its key shooter killed in south Delhi encounter
New Delhi: Romil Vohra, one of the main shooters of the Lawrence Bishnoi group, was gunned down by police in south Delhi early on Tuesday. A firefight broke out when a joint team of 's special cell and Haryana's special task force intercepted Vohra at Dera Mandi. According to additional commissioner (special cell) Pramod Kushwaha, Vohra was wanted in connection with a sensational triple murder, besides the killing of a businessman who refused to pay protection money. He had a reward of Rs 3.1 lakh declared on his head. Vohra reported to Bhanu Rana, a Georgia-based operative of the group. Hours after the encounter, Rana posted on Instagram threatening special cell officers with consequences for the encounter. "We will definitely take revenge for this encounter and get justice for our brother. In our tradition, death is the revenge for death. Whether we have to kill the policemen in it or whoever we come to know was involved... no matter who he is, whatever his level, we will kill him," Rana posted from his account. "Whether we have to kill one or 10, we will definitely do it.. #LawrenceBishnoGroup #KalaRanaGiroh," the post concluded. Vohra, police said, had spread terror in Delhi and Haryana through shooting incidents. He was sending messages to businessmen, saying they won't receive multiple warnings like in the past. The police teams tried to apprehend him, but he fired on the police party and tried to escape. The team fired in self-defence during which Vohra sustained gunshot injuries," Kushwaha said. Two sub-inspectors Pravin and Rohan were shot at by Vohra during the exchange of fire. The injured cops and the criminal were rushed to hospital where Vohra was declared dead and the policemen were admitted for treatment. Vohra's first major crime was in Dec 2024 in Yamunanagar. He and his associates had killed three liquor businessmen—Virender Rana, Arjun Rana and Pankaj Malik—outside a gym on Dec 26. The services of nine police personnel who were deployed at the police post under whose area the crime happened were terminated for not taking timely action. On June 14, Vohra and associates fatally shot a liquor contractor at Shahabad in Haryana's Kurukshetra district. Shantanu was shot dead near Meena Market on the national highway when he had briefly stopped his car to buy cigarettes from a shop. Vohra and his aide, riding a sports bike, pumped seven bullets into him and fired about eight rounds before fleeing. As panic gripped the busy highway, bystanders tried to intervene and stop the shooters. However, the assailants quickly abandoned their bike, sprinted across the road and hijacked a motorcycle at gunpoint. They then fled towards Ambala, driving recklessly on the wrong side of the highway.
