'Damn my bad yall, I was talking about love island,' the two-time All-Star wrote in a follow-up post.
Brunson, widely known for his Mariska Hargitay and 'Law & Order' fandom, was referencing the global phenomenon and reality TV dating franchise 'Love Island.'
The seventh season of the U.S. installment premiered on Peacock earlier this month and is hosted by 'Vanderpump Rules' alum Ariana Madix.

Brunson's tweets follow what's been a wild start to the offseason for the Knicks, who were defeated by the Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals in six.
Days later, the Knicks fired head coach Tom Thibodeau after five seasons.

The team, stonewalled by other organizations to speak with their head coaches — including the Mavericks' Jason Kidd— are slated to meet with Taylor Jenkins and Mike Brown about the coaching vacancy this week.
Though unclear whether the candidates' TV preferences will be addressed in the interview process, Brunson isn't the only New York sports star captivated by 'Love Island.'
When speaking to the media Wednesday, Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito quipped that he and rookie teammate Jaxson Dart 'might go on 'Love Island,'' The Post's Paul Schwartz reported.
'We've talked about it,' the New Jersey native added.

ATP Toronto: Corentin Moutet vs. Jenson Brooksby odds, prediction
Gambling content 21+. The New York Post may receive an affiliate commission if you sign up through our links. Read our editorial standards for more information. There is nobody in tennis quite like Corentin Moutet. Although he's far from a household name that transcends the sport like Carlos Alcaraz or Jannik Sinner, hardcore tennis fans have all the time in the world for a player like Moutet. Not only is he a great underdog story as a 5-foot-11 grinder who has had to work his way up the professional tennis ladder, but he's also got a showman quality that is all too rare in the sport these days. Moutet is a creative shot-maker, but he's also got a short fuse and is no stranger to making a scene on the court. The Frenchman also happens to be playing some of the best tennis of his career of late, and comes into the qualifying rounds at the Canadian Masters having just made it to the semifinals at ATP Washington. Moutet took full advantage of being awarded a 'lucky loser' spot in Washington by defeating Alexandre Muller, Dan Evans, and Daniil Medvedev before losing to Alex de Minaur in the semis. Jenson Brooksby during Wimbledon. Susan Mullane-Imagn Images The 26-year-old now faces a quick turnaround for his showdown with Jenson Brooksby in Toronto on Monday. After taking all of 2024 off, Brooksby has been quite impressive this season. The American won a title in Houston in March and was the runner-up in Eastbourne last month. Brooksby's once promising career looks to be reignited. Moutet and Brooksby come into Monday's match in decent form, and the stylistic matchup – neither player is going to smash the other off the court – should lead to a long, winding match. Gretchen Walsh earns breakthrough swimming world title with second-fastest time in history
Gretchen Walsh won her first individual long course world title by nearly breaking her own 100m butterfly world record. Walsh clocked 54.73 seconds at the World Swimming Championships, just off her own record of 54.60 from May 3. She owns the top eight times in history. She prevailed Monday over Belgian Roos Vanotterdijk (a distant 1.11 seconds behind) and Australian Alexandria Perkins for the U.S.' first gold medal on the second day of the eight-day meet in Singapore. Walsh added her first individual long course title to an already stacked resume: four Olympic medals in Paris (including two relay golds), 11 world records and seven gold medals at the world short course championships last December and nine individual NCAA titles in four years at Virginia. SWIMMING WORLDS: Results | Broadcast Schedule Walsh made the U.S. team for worlds in four individual events and is a medal contender in all of them. She still has the 50m fly and 50m and 100m frees left, plus possible relay duty. Walsh was one of the majority of U.S. swim team members affected to varying degrees by acute gastroenteritis, or a stomach bug, leading into worlds. On the first day of worlds Sunday, she said she was feeling tired but trying to make the best of annoying situation. After those comments, she later Sunday swam a 100m fly semifinal, then scratched out of the 4x100m freestyle final that took place about an hour later. Also Monday, China's Qin Haiyang overtook Olympic gold medalist Nicolo Martinenghi of Italy by 35 hundredths to take the men's 100m breaststroke. Qin, who swept the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststrokes at the 2023 Worlds, returned to the podium after placing seventh and tied for 10th individually in Paris. Worlds continue all week with preliminary heats at 10 p.m. ET and finals at 7 a.m., live on Peacock. Tuesday's finals are expected to feature Katie Ledecky in the 1500m freestyle, a race she has never lost in a major final, and another 100m backstroke duel between Australian Kaylee McKeown and American Regan Smith. Love Island spoiler: Shakira's mum's awkward run-in with Harry after she slammed his behaviour in tense video
Things are about to get a little awks on tonight's episode of Love Island, particularly for Harry Cooksley. Harry recoupled with Shakira Khan on Sunday night's episode after weeks of being with Helena Ford, and now the family and friends are on the way to the villa and Shakira's mum isn't happy. In a recent TikTok video, Shakira's mother Sukina went off on the 30-year-old footballer, calling him a "d***head". She said: "When I think of the villa I just think of a cesspit, it is just a cesspit and she is surrounded by snakes. Sukina, who owns an online tarot reading business, continued: "She will be getting a deep spiritual cleanse when she comes home and I am just going to add this - Harry needs to shut the f*** up about Shakira. "Seriously, the only person that's trying to give life to that little situation is that d***head. There, my love and light slipped for a about as negative as I got, d***head." Ouch! A teaser at the end of Sunday night's show revealed that Monday night's episode (28th July) will see the family and friends visiting. In the clip, Toni's mum could seen entering the villa along with Cach's family as she called out: "Is Toni here?" causing a very surprised Toni to scream from the terrace: "Mum!" as Cach uttered: "Oh s**!" It's now been confirmed that Shakira's mother Sukina is one of the relatives who'll be visiting Shakira in the villa, and judging by that video we're sure she'll have some choice words for Harry. Last week, Harry revealed he wasn't completely over Shakira and wanted to revisit things after weeks of being in a couple with Helena and going exclusive. Helena then learned of his true feelings during The Grafties as his behaviour was broadcast on the screen for all the Love Island 2025 cast to see. As a result, she decided to call things off, and Harry chatted to Shakira about rekindling their relationship. While Shakira wasn't convinced, a daytime recoupling on Sunday's episode saw the boys having to choose who they wanted to couple up with and Harry picked Shakira, saying: "I'd like to couple up with this girl because she possesses qualities I see in a longterm partner. I think I've sat on a lot of feelings and buried a lot of my emotions recently and two conversations brought that back to the surface. I think I've disappointed myself, I've disappointed people in here. "I know I'm not perfect, I'll never pretend to be, but I wanna be a better person for myself and for this girl. I know she doesn't believe a word that I say right now, but I want her to know that the feelings have always been there, I was just trying to ignore them. As I said to this girl yesterday, I'm either leaving here alone or I'm leaving with her." Well if Shakira's mum has anything to do with it, Harry, you, could very well be leaving the villa alone... New episodes of Love Island air on ITV2 weekdays and Sundays.
